After rebirth, I confessed to the losing heroine

Around one in the afternoon, Yuichi arrived at Kaori’s house with the person mentioned, beside him.

She spent the night back at his apartment without any trouble since her parents and elder sister were all out. Apart from the conversation they had about the confession and all, there was no inconvenience to mention.

Kaori was more than comfortable sleeping alone on the massive bed while Yuichi made himself comfortable in the guest room.

Now, after a long full night’s sleep, Kaori seemed much better than yesterday, however, Yuichi couldn’t be certain whether she was genuinely refreshed or just putting up a front.

“Take care, and call me if something happens.” Yuichi rejected her offer to come inside her house and bid his farewell near the entrance.

Seeing him turning away, Kaori felt a sense of urgency, and before she could decide what she should say, she moved on impulse, pulled him by his arm, and planted her lips on his cheek.

*Chu*

Yuichi was flabbergasted feeling the soft sensation on his skin, but before he could break out of his daze Kaori nearly shouted her parting words and dashed inside the house,

“See you, tomorrow!”

“…” Yuichi remained standing at the spot for a few minutes, registering what she did just now.

‘She…really is a strange girl…’ Shaking his head with a soft smile extending his lips, he turned away.

He might have asked her for some time before Yuichi could respond to her confession with utmost sureity, but not like, he hated her. And thus, these small gestures troubled his heart slightly, as well.

Leaving her house behind, Yuichi decided to visit the nearby cafe and eat lunch there, when suddenly his eyes landed on an SUV, parked at the corner of the street.

He narrowed his eyes when he saw the person occupying the driver’s seat.

‘Must be about yesterday…’ Yuichi looked around for a bit, checking whether someone had their eye on him before the teenager made his way toward the car.

As Yuichi thought, the incident with the blondie wasn’t going to get forgotten easily…

[Back in School]

[Lunch break]

There are certain rules in the school, which, as an ideal student, Miyuki would never dare break. And using a pin to unlock the door of the terrace was amongst one of those rules!

“Are you insane?! I never knew you were such a…reckless kind of person, Takeda-kun.” Although she tried, her voice didn’t remain in the whispering wavelength as she suddenly got pulled toward the terrace by Hiroto.

“Stop touching me so casually and tell me, what is it that you want from me, now?” Miyuki was apprehensive to even stand here, in the fret of being seen by the teachers, that’s why she urged him.

Hiroto just shook his head at how rule-driven this girl was before he shut the door and brought his hand over Miyuki’s soft shoulders.

“First calm down and take a breath. Come on, along with me. One two, breathe in…”

*Inhale*

Without even comprehending, she followed his lead and took several long breaths along with Hiroto. Her eyes were no longer wandering around but solely focused on the person in front.

And true to his words, her apprehension receded with each breath and a sense of serenity spread across her chest.

“Better?”

Miyuki nodded, stiffly.

Hiroto sighed at that before he relayed his thoughts on her reaction, “Sometimes you should really let loose of your natural behavior and go with the flow, Miyuki.”

“Go with the flow? You just showed me some brilliant burglary tricks, a moment ago. How can I remain calm after seeing that?”

Hiroto chuckled slightly at how exaggerated her reaction was toward a small trick he learned at the age of eight. Well, not like it would do him any good, to reveal how much knowledge he preserves in this field.

“Alright, won’t do it again. Now, let’s sit down and talk a bit.”

Miyuki was…taken aback at how calmly he received all her complaints and even promised that he wouldn’t repeat his action.

Hiroto used his handkerchief to dust off the spot where Miyuki would sit. Due to her daze, she never realized when Hiroto made her take the seat.

“Now tell me, are you okay? I mean any lasting trauma or bad dreams?”

What transpired yesterday could traumatize any youngster to the point they might have not been able to leave their room for months. However, Miyuki was strong…but how much?

Hiroto knew it would be difficult to discern her true feelings, as of now, that’s why he kept his stance, passive.

“Nothing like that…just a little…darkness…” Her words were even thinner than a whisper, but thankfully, Hiroto heard her clearly.

“Then how about you allow someone to stay by your side even at night? Like your personal maid?”

Miyuki immediately shook her head at that. She didn’t like getting her privacy breached and also, considering the attire she wears when she sleeps, it would be highly inappropriate for anyone to look at her.

Hiroto sighed at that before he offered a neutral and best solution,

“Then don’t turn off your lights for the time being and whenever you feel uneasy, just call me. I promise to pick up your call any time.”

Hearing his assuring words without a tinge of amusement, made her heart warm. She didn’t know Hiroto was such a caring man who would think so deeply about her.

However, soon her smile faltered as she spoke in a complaining tone,

“Why would I seek your help? I have a lot of other people to rely on.” Saying so she turned her eyes away from him, signifying her stance on the matter.

Her words may have given the impression that she wanted to draw a line between herself and Hiroto, but the way the tips of her ears were turning red and also, the fact that she hadn’t left the place until now, expresses how she was willing to hear his request.

“I won’t force you but do remember that I am always here for you.” Looking into her eyes, Hiroto conveyed the words that merged from the depth of his heart. No fabrication, no false hope. Just pure concern.

‘Ah…’ Miyuki let out a breath she was holding for who knows how long upon redirecting her eyes to his.

A sudden breeze of the autumn washed over the two as Miyuki found herself, entirely ensnared by this person.
