After rebirth, I confessed to the losing heroine - Chapter 13- Avoiding him?
[Hiroto’s POV:]
So apparently, since I left the house without informing Dad and wasn’t picking up my phone, my parents thought that I abandoned them in frustration.
They assumed that since Mom was ‘needlessly spending money’, I was extremely pissed off by their behavior and decided to leave behind my ‘good-for-nothing’ parents.
‘Seriously, what kind of trauma you have instilled in them, Hiroto…’ I couldn’t help asking myself, as I looked at the older ones sitting on the couch with tension still not leaving their faces.
My mom, Takeda Akiko had her eyes reddened because of the misery she went through in these two hours when I didn’t contact them. And my Dad…well, it was saddening to see a grown-up man, in such distress.
This was more than enough to tell how much they cared about Hiroto…err, about me.
“Seriously, you guys thought that I would get worked up to see my Mom smiling…? I didn’t know I had such a bad reputation in the house.” I sighed.
“I-It’s not like that, Hiro…I just thought that while you and your Dad are saving so many expenses, I joined such an unnecessary course just for my amusement..”
“And you thought it would make me feel betrayed and all, huh? Well, can’t say you guys are to blame for this. “Another sigh, this time, a deeper one as I settled myself between them with my knees pressed against the ground.
Taking their hands in mine, I told them what I firmly believed without adding anything extra to it,
“I may have been rude to you two for some time now, and I deeply apologize for that, but believe me, I want to make changes in myself and don’t want to keep you guys on such an edge where even mundane decisions could require my permission. You are parents, not the other way around.”
I stated what I believed to be true. These two have been handling all the household matters up until the day. Our situation might have changed because of some misfortunes, but that doesn’t allow me or any child to suddenly become the boss of the house.
Dad glanced at my mother, finding her surprised gaze already on him, before their mutual gaze of concern and slight relief reached me.
See, how simple this was~

[Next Day]
After having breakfast with my parents (which I normally ignored in the past), I took my lunchbox, packed my bag, and headed toward the door.
“Take care on your way, Hiro. And use that money I gave, to buy something sweet for lunch.”
I nodded to my Mom, who dotingly stepped forward and planted her lips on my left cheek.
…well, that was new but oddly comfortable, given that the fragment of the original Hiroto’s soul still resides.
“…I will be going then…” Bidding an awkward goodbye, I walked out of the house and took the route that led to school.
It was almost twenty minutes travel to my school on foot, that’s why I had to leave nearly at seven to register my attendance.
While on the way, I checked the text Yuichi sent me half an hour ago,
Yu: [I won’t be coming today…can you write an application and submit it?]
I didn’t think much before typing out a simple, ‘Alright’.
Yu: [Thanks, man. I owe you one.]
Yuichi called me last night to ask about my well-being and he protested quite a bit when I told him that I would continue school from today.
Well, considering how shaken up Kaori and Yuichi would be, it was given that both of them would stay home for today.
Yuichi was an underground fighter for years, but still, the blood and gore I introduced to him yesterday, was simply unforgettable.
‘Now that I think about it…would he seek ‘their’ help?’ That would be a matter of concern but nothing was there, that could come my way.
‘Let’s just speed up…’ Holding the strap of my bag, I began jogging my way up the hill, intending to reach the school with a very particular goal in mind.
I wanted to hear her answer.

Miyuki was still in distress. Unsurprisingly her mood has been like this since yesterday even though she was comforted by her father when he visited her room.
He assured the young girl, that nothing sort of such a hideous incident would occur again, and that her parents would always protect Miyuki.
She felt warm, hearing those many words of concern…but now that she was on her way to school (which her father suggested, to help her get back to being herself), Miyuki was feeling a little apprehensive.
This was new.
‘Wait…he is injured so surely-‘ Just as the thought passed by her mind, she saw a figure walking at the side of the street with a small smile adorning his lips.
Since it was uphill, the car was driving slowly, thus Miyuki had no issue affirming the identity of the person.
“Why….” Miyuki, more than nervous, felt a little troubled by the fact that Hiroto was continuing school even though he should have been taking rest for the week, at the very least.
However, her concern could wait for later, since her priority lay in hiding herself from him.
“Have a safe trip, my lady.” Nodding to the driver, Miyuki walked in a hurried manner toward the school building.
She just wanted to sort her feelings out and give him a proper answer, that’s why she wanted to avoid Hiroto as much as she could, as of now.
“Good morning, Miyuki-san.”
“Hmm.”
“Waah…Miyuki-sama looks so gorgeous today as well. I wanna take her morning picture.”
“Send it to me…I will frame it.”
“Miyuki-san, good morning.”
“Morning.”
Those who greeted her in an appropriate way were the ones to whom she responded. Others were….too creepy to associate with.
Exchanging her shoes, she threw away all the love letters resting inside her shoe locker, before making her way upstairs. She has long discerned how childish and unnecessary these love letters were, so now, she doesn’t even bother reading them.
Her classroom was on the third floor, and she reached there, in three breaths.
*Slide*
Her appearance made many of the students glance at her and some even greeted her.
Miyuki nodded to everyone robotically while she moved toward the backside of the classroom.
She generally sits on the first bench, but not today…or maybe tomorrow…or maybe for some following days.
Her destination was the corner of the classroom, and given that she was quite early, Miyuki believed the seat to be vacant…
However, “Why are you avoiding me, Hime?”
