After rebirth, I confessed to the losing heroine - Chapter 116- Glimpse
“Anata…aren’t you being over-protective?” Yuki couldn’t help but ask her husband, who just finished a call.
Souma didn’t look guilty when he said, “This is about my daughter and her security. Surely buying that place doesn’t mean much.”
Yuki sighed at hearing that. Her husband bought every residence in that building and sent all his trusted people to live in those houses so in case of emergency they would be able to assist Hiroto and Miyuki.
Souma has started to remain anxious these days after what he saw last night.
It was the first time he saw his daughter in such a disoriented state and it broke his heart. And that’s why he has decided to not let a single chance arise where she could get pushed into that corner again.
Yuki stepped forward and held her husband’s hand softly before assuring him, “Now there is a man for her, who would take care of our princess well. So you can count on Hiro-kun and relax.”
Souma took a slightly deeper breath hearing that. There was no denying that Hiroto is a mature person with a good sense of judgement. And also, the fact that he loves Miyuki more than what one could expect from a teenager, just makes him the perfect man for his daughter.
But still…there is a constant fear in his heart that the person who has taken the oath of keeping Miyuki happy can become the source of her greatest sadness.
‘I hope you will keep your promise, Hiroto…’

[That night]
After Hiroto bid his farewell to Yuichi, he returned to his house since he had to pack his bags and also had to spend some time with his family.
Although it has been only like one day since he saw them, because of all the bullshit crap of the Goddess, it feels like it has been over a month since he last saw them.
“I am ho-” Just as he entered and was about to inform his arrival, he paused and his body went stiff.
Sitting at the entryway was the girl who can easily be regarded as the most beautiful, and currently she was looking nothing but ethereal in a kimono as she sat in seiza and greeted him.
“Welcome back. The bath and dinner are ready, and so am I. So? What would you like to have first?”
There was a soft smile on her face as Miyuki asked, with faint redness blooming on her cheeks.
“Why is that even a question?” Hiroto said as he advanced towards his girl—only to hear someone coughing.
Hiroto raised his brows and looked towards the kitchen, where his mother was fidgeting while covering her blushing cheeks, and his father looked extremely awkward.
Miyuki giggled before she got up, hugged Hiroto’s arm, and whispered, “Sorry, but you have to wait to have me.”
Hiroto side glanced at her with that expression which said ‘You are a cruel girl’.
Miyuki’s smile extended seeing him grumble before she led Hiroto to the living area and sat down beside him on the couch.
“How did you feel about seeing a glimpse of the future?” Akiko asked as she sat down beside her husband on the chair, across the duo.
“Mom…you could have read the room, y’know.” Hiroto still seemed grumpy; causing both Miyuki and Akiko to giggle.
Ryuuske melted in his chair, pretending to be not a part of this prank. However,
“You too, Dad. Is this the age to play with a teenager’s heart?”
“H-Hey! Choose your words properly.” Ryuuske glared at his son, only for Hiroto to shrug
Focusing on his Hime, he asked, “Why didn’t you tell me you are coming?”
“Because I wanted to surprise you. Ah…a-am I being a nuisance?” Her voice turned pitiful as she glanced at her mother-in-law and father-in-law.
The two of them panicked as Akiko said, “No Miyuki-chan! Who would-” She paused, and slapped Hiroto’s arm before complaining, “Why do you say something like that to make my daughter cry?”
“Be more careful with your words, Hiroto.” Ryuuske chided.
Hiroto heaved a sigh before telling them, “She is joking, my dear parents. She knows she can never be a nuisance to me.”
Hearing his words, Akiko and Ryuuske blinked in confusion before they turned towards Miyuki—only to see her sticking her tongue out and her left eye closed.
“Did I get caught?”

After having dinner with his parents, Hiroto led Miyuki to the first floor and opened the door of his room.
“So here-wait.” Hiroto frowned; his tone turning serious as he stepped inside his room and told Miyuki, “Don’t step inside now.”
He said and instantly grabbed his knife before checking his bedsheet. When he went out, there were no wrinkles on the sheet and his mother hadn’t come to his room, which means there was an intruder.
Hiroto crouched down to look under his bed but there was no one. Next, he checked the bathroom, but again, the same results. When he checked his wardrobe, although there was no one, he saw that his clothes were a little out of place. And those which were resting in the laundary basket as well.
Hiroto’s frown grew deeper as he was about to go and search his whole house when suddenly Miyuki slowly uttered,
“Err…Hiro-kun…it seems I have caused some misunderstanding?” Hiroto turned to look at her in confusion, only to find Miyuki smiling awkwardly as she confessed,
“Actually, I was the one who came to your room earlier and you know…just looked around a bit?”
Hiroto looked at his girlfriend with his hands resting on his waist before he asked, “Exactly what you did with the sheet and my clothes?”
A healthy blush began to appear on her face as she stole her eyes away—making Hiroto even more curious what she did.
He stepped back and after putting down the knife, he took out a spy cam from his table lamp, that records everything that happened in the room.
Miyuki panicked and tried to snatch it away, “Hiro-kun, no! That’s a foul play!”
Hiroto easily dodged her and jumped onto the bed before playing the footage….only to find his smile slowly wiping off and his eyes turning round.
Miyuki fell to her knees seeing that reaction as she muttered,
“My life is ruined.”
