The whole place turned dark and not only Yuichi and Kaori but even the blond bastard, who owns the place, seemed panicking which meant that this wasn’t one of his disgusting tricks to further terrify Kaori.

“Ghuugh!”

Yuichi’s eyes widened as he heard the muffled groans, followed by something zipping up and several gunshots resonating across the hall, which indicated that this whole place was guarded.

However, the matter of concern remained, what was hunting them?

“W-What…”The blondie sounded as flabbergasted as Yuichi, however, the chances of their escape escalated with this sudden change of course. Yuichi couldn’t help but force himself a little more, only to find that he was able to move his wrist a little.

“HELLLPPP!!”

“GUHUUU?!!”

*SHOT* *SHOT*

“GET AWAY FRO-“ The yells of several men and women reverberated actively, signifying that someone was on a rampage. The sound of slicing and gunshots was making the blond youth shudder.

No, no, no, NO, NO, NO!!! This wasn’t supposed to happen!

“Stop right there, or I will…”The blond-haired suddenly darted his eyes around and found the best target to threaten whoever dare trespass on his property, “I will kill this bitch! Stop right there and reveal yourself, RIGHT NOW!!”

It was clear that the bastard was terrified, which genuinely made Yuichi elated, but when he heard Kaori’s yelp, he realized that the asshole surely have taken Kaori hostage to save himself.

‘This coward!’ Yuichi gritted his teeth and in frustration he pulled the rope with such force that ended up breaking the chair arm, finally providing him mobility.

Yuichi didn’t waste time before freeing his other hand and legs and soon jumping on his feet.

However just as he took some steps, he crashed into someone, nearly falling behind because of his weakened state. Mindlessly, Yuichi was about to throw his punch, when suddenly all the lights turned on, and Yuichi’s eyes widened when he gazed at the person to whom he had raised his fist.

It was Kaori.

“Y-Yu-kun…”Kaori’s weak tone reached his ears which made him sure that this was the same person whom he was witnessing. Which means…

*Gasp*

It wasn’t Yuichi who gasped, but rather the blond man who was kneeling on the bed and holding the ‘hostage’ by the hair with his knife pointed at their neck.

However, the fact that the hostage was also pointing something at the blondie made the latter gasp in terror as his hand began to shake.

It was a gun.

“W-Who…”The blondie asked the person whom he was holding onto, in a fragile voice. His whole person was shaking because of the glock just inches apart from his temple.

Yuichi squinted his eyes at the vigilante, who had taken the blondie in his custody, but because of the face mask and the hoodie, Yuichi wasn’t able to look at the vigilante’s face.

His eyes roamed around only to find a shiver running down Yuichi’s spine. The walls around the hall were tinted with a crimson shade and the dead bodies of the guards were littering around like garbage. Their brain and internal matters were scattered around the place and on the ground, indicating the brutality they had to face at the hands of the vigilante.

Instinctively, Yuichi gathered Kaori in his arms and restrained her from looking around. The scene around them was enough to make him feel nauseating…Kaori probably would be traumatized for her life.

The vigilante easily scooped the knife from the blondie’s hand making the latter yelp in shock as he suddenly began begging for his life,

“P-please…don’t kill me…I promise I will do anything for you. Ah…money?! I can give you a lot, but pl-“

“How much?”

Yuichi’s eyes narrowed upon hearing that. The vigilante was willing to negotiate with the blondie which meant that he wasn’t here to save them specifically.

‘This is bad…’ Yuichi glanced around and found that the exit was toward their left, but from what he could perceive, if they moved toward the door, the vigilante surely would get alerted. Presumably, even if Yuichi dodges the bullet and escapes somehow, he couldn’t say the same for Kaori. And risking her life was a total no-go.

‘What should I do…’ As his contradicting thoughts made his mind muddled, the conversation between the two criminals continued.

“Ten million!” The blondie thought that this was his chance. After all, everything in this world was buyable. Previously, he thought that his game was over, but it seemed even this insect was after nothing but the mutual tendency of every human.

However, the blondie highly underestimated this one.

*Click*

The blondie shuddered as he saw the vigilante pulling the slide and turning the muzzle in his direction.

“OKAY! A hundred million!!” The blondie shouted at the top of his lungs with his eyes tightly shut and body cocooned in a ball. The sheer fret on his face made it clear, how much the blondie was scared by death.

Silence ensued in the hall after that. Yuichi remained his eyes trained on the vigilante while holding Kaori, tightly in his arms. Although she was shaking, she hadn’t moved nor made any noise, which was a plus point.

If the vigilante agrees, Yuichi will be planning to ambush him and end this farce once and for all.

And just as he expected, the hooded figure suddenly lowered his gun, making Yuichi growl and the blondie grin as he parted his lids upon finding silence from the other party.

“W-Wise decision I mus-*SHOT*” The blondie wasn’t able to finish his sentence as suddenly the vigilante raised his hand and pulled the trigger.

“Ahhhhh!!” Kaori screamed in dread as she saw the region between the blondie’s head completely destroyed and blood splashing around the victim.

Absolute silence ensued in the place after the blond figure fell dead to his right.

“Why did you kill him?!” Yuichi couldn’t help raising his voice since he thought that the two had come to an agreement.

Even though, Yuichi was impressed that the vigilante didn’t sway because of money, why did he kill the bastard so suddenly?

However, the vigilante remained silent and walked toward the blondie. Scooping out his phone, the vigilante took out his own, and connected a cable to both of them.

Yuichi wanted to approach the vigilante and ask what was he doing, when suddenly the vigilante turned to look at the two and spoke in a heavy tone,

“Leave or join the party of the dead.”

Yuichi had no option but to carry Kaori out of the place soon after.
