After rebirth, I confessed to the losing heroine - Chapter 108- Surprise
So the story goes like this.
Canonically, Yuichi had two options. The first one was to fight against his old gang, and at some point, when he found himself losing the battle, Miyuki came to his rescue, and her route opened up for the players.
The other one was to bring the Steel Serpent to their knees through brute force.
However, Hiroto dug out a third route.
The gang leader of Steel Serpent had a backstory. In that backstory, it was shown how that man became a gangster.
The man had a very bad habit of gambling, and because of his bad luck, he used to lose a lot, and the debt began to pile up. The man, at some point, understood his mistake and decided to work for a living but the amount of debt was already too high for the debtors to wait.
In the end, the man lost his wife and daughter who were taken away from the debtors as compensation. The man cried and fought, but nothing worked, and his family shattered and disappeared all of a sudden.
That was the trigger point for the man to completely get involved with the underworld. He had nothing to lose. He was just living with the sole motive to find his family again. And after years of being involved with illegal activities, he finally made himself a name and formed a gang.
Years later, when he finally caught his old debtor, the man asked for his wife and daughter’s whereabouts—only to hear that they were dead.
The man was devastated to hear that. The purpose of his life seemed to have been lost, and now he was living solely based on the greed to die one day.
The reason why the Steel Serpent weren’t ready to integrate with any other gang was because of that lonely father and husband who seeks nothing but death now.
However, Hiroto knows a way to keep that man alive and return him his happiness.
When, in the second route, Yuichi kills the leader of the Steel Serpent, for a brief moment, the face of a young woman shows on the screen who has the picture frame of the man whom Yuichi killed.
And that scene ends with a few letters stating,
‘I hope you are fine whenever you are, Dad.’
That explains that the daughter of the man is at least alive somewhere, and if Hiroto can bring her back, then it wouldn’t be a problem for Yuichi to fulfil Hotaru’s demand.
Now, the problem: The daughter’s location.
She was shown only for one scene and there was nothing about her further in the story. Hiroto vividly remembered her background and her face, but just based on her surroundings and face it would be difficult to find her all over the world…unless he has a strong network and a lot of people working under him.
“Seriously Hime…you made my life easy with this.” Kissing her closed eye fondly, Hiroto whispered to her.
They were currently lying on her bed while Hiroto looked at the screen of the tab, which showed the live location of the spies spread across Japan.
He has drawn a sketch of the girl and sent it for investigation as well. There was a chance for the girl to be in foreign lands.
“Hmm…” Miyuki hummed in response and snuggled close to him. Her hand clutched his shirt while she remained warmly connected to him.
Hiroto noticed that there was something not right with her. Miyuki has been spacing out a lot today for some reason. And she even sounded sad just now.
“Did anyone say anything to you, Miyuki? Or are you upset that I am spending time to help Yuichi out?” Hiroto believed the second one to be the case since Hiroto had been quite occupied with Yuichi and Hanabi for the past two days.
However, Miyuki wasn’t sad because of that. After hearing things from Kaori she realised how much hurt Hiroto must have felt being ignored by Miyuki. Although the Takeda Hiroto she loves and the one she ignored are not the same people, their souls have merged and naturally, her lover must have felt bad going through memories as well.
There was nothing she could do to change the past or remove those memories, however, she could do something better in the future to create better and more joyful memories with Hiroto.
That’s why she didn’t say anything to Hiroto, and while shaking her head, she made some excuses, “Just a little dizziness. I think I need to increase my carbs intake.”
Hiroto blinked in slight surprise. He couldn’t believe that his Hime had just lied to him. However, if she was avoiding to say the truth he wouldn’t force her to say it right away.
“Want to go somewhere for a change?” Hiroto suggested as he turned the device off and looked at his beloved with fond eyes.
Miyuki smiled softly before nodding.
*******
Hiroto didn’t tell her where they were heading. He just showed an address to the driver and kept her busy in conversation so Miyuki didn’t realise where they were going.
The car ride was short since the destination was situated near the edge of Tokyo—around five kilometres away from the Shirogane mansion.
Miyuki was about to turn her head and look out of the window when suddenly she found darkness enshrouding her vision.
“Hiro-kun?” She asked in puzzlement as she touched the blindfold Hiroto suddenly draped over her eyes.
“No peeking. It’s a surprise.” He said with slight excitement in his voice before he helped her get out of the car.
Miyuki felt butterflies dancing in her belly as she followed his lead while holding his hand. She didn’t have any idea what this surprise was, but if it was Hiroto, she could accept anything he presented.
Hiroto slowly led her inside, and at one point, they came to a halt.
“Ah!” She exclaimed upon losing her balance as Hiroto held her waist and brought her close to him.
It seems they were in an elevator or something that was lifting them.
“Careful, love,” Hiroto whispered and kept her close to him.
Miyuki smiled in contentment upon feeling Hiroto’s strong embrace all around her protectively. The insecurity she felt with her vision block, vanished with him so close to her.
The lift finally came to a half, and Hiroto decided to carry his hime in his arms, so she doesn’t stumble again.
“Fufu~Now I am getting even more excited.” Miyuki hugged his neck and whispered in excitement.
Hiroto walked a few steps before he halted and did some movements with his hands.
After taking a few more steps, he told her, “You can see now.”
Miyuki hurriedly removed the blindfold and eagerly looked around….only to freeze in shock.
The place they were in was completely unfamiliar, but there was something that made this house familiar.
And that was the large photo frame of Miyuki and Hiroto hanging in the living room. The whole house seemed to be freshly renovated, and the furniture suggested that a newlywed lived there.
Miyuki’s eyes began to moisten up realizing where they were and what surprise he had planned.
To confirm that she was thinking the right thing, Hiroto whispered softly,
“This is our new home, Miyuki. A place just for the two of us.”

A/N:- Ah, yeah. The dreamland for Miyuki. The way she would go dere-dere now.
