After rebirth, I confessed to the losing heroine - Chapter 105- Planning
[Hiroto’s POV:]
Returning home, I sat down on the table with my legs resting over the desk, hands clasped behind my head.
I was thinking of the best route I could pick for this arc.
After talking to Hanabi, I knew that the arc ‘Reckoning with the Past’ had begun.
The past that Yuichi left behind was knocking on the door, and I was the catalyst that triggered this arc. After all, calling Hanabi for help was on me.
But well, not like the timing was off. This arc canonically happened after Yuichi started dating Kaori and Minami and Hanabi was going through her self-doubting period. Although it happened a little sooner than it originally should have, all the pieces were aligned and ready to play their roles.
The following events would allow Hanabi to discern her feelings for Yuichi and finally confess to him as well—allowing the third heroine to become a part of his harem as well.
But for that to happen I have to ascertain the path through which I could create a perfect ending for the Protagonist.
The first path was the complete annihilation of the Black Hand gang and, along with it, killing the leader—that is, Hanabi’s dad and Yuichi’s ex-boss—of the gang as well.
This route was simple but could create further complications. In the future, there was a certain need for the gang and its members, and Hanabi loves her Otou-san just as much as she loves Yuichi. So, losing her father would devastate her, and she might never be able to overcome the death of her only family member.
So, no. The first method might be simple but it has too many flaws.
The second path is long and complicated. Even a single mistake could lead to complete failure. And in this route, I might need my Hime’s help in gathering information.
It would sound absurd, but Miyuki had a wide range of networks, which she has thoroughly spread to keep an eye on me. And thanks to that I would be able to locate some people who would be quite useful for this arc.
I had contemplated over this for a long time but there is no third path.
Trying to threaten the man who goes by the name Tojou Hotarou would result in vain. I couldn’t suggest Yuichi take Hanabi and flee since—well, forget that. That route is impossible.
‘Okay then…let’s call Yuichi…’ Picking up my phone I got up from the chair and began to wear my jacket.
The call rang and it connected soon after,
[Finally got time for your brother?]
“I am coming over. Cook me something.”
[Hey, wha-]
*Beep* *Beep*
Zipping up the jacket, I informed Mom that I would be coming home late before departing.

[Third Person POV:]
“Who was it?” While lazily rubbing her eyes, Kaori asked Yuichi.
As she moved up, her naked body came into view, and her pearl-white skin was in full exposure. The red marks around her neck and collarbone made Yuichi feel a little ashamed as he responded to her,
“It was Hiroto.”
Kaori snuggled to him and rubbed her face on his bare wide chest to get comfortable before asking again, “What did he say.”
“He said he is coming over.”
Kaori casually hummed and again closed her eyes. She was feeling very tired after going at it for two hours straight and-WAIT!
“What did you just say?!” Kaori parted her eyes wide and asked in a panicked voice.
Yuichi was startled but he honestly replied, “I said that Hiroto is coming over.”
Kaori’s panic elevated as she soon left the blanket and began to move around to find her scattered clothes.
“Mou~you should say that first, Yu-kun,” With her legs still slightly trembling and her back aching a little, she began to wear her underwear and bra; under Yuichi’s keen gaze
Kaori paused before looking at Yuichi—only to find him staring at her breasts.
“Hey! What are you staring at?”
Yuichi blinked in surprise before uttering, “But I have already seen everything ..then why now…”
Her face became redder as she reprimanded him, “That’s a different thing, and staring at a girl while she is changing her clothes is rude.”
Yuichi apologized and made a mental note not to stare at a girl while she was changing clothes.
Soon, he also changed clothes after taking a quick bath, and when he came out, he found Kaori was ready to leave.
“Why are you going back? It’s only four.” Yuichi asked as he wore a t-shirt.
Kaori helped him dry his hair with the towel as she told him, “It would become a little awkward with Hiro-kun…you know, we are together at such untimely hours…”
Yuichi wanted to say that Hiroto wouldn’t think anything weird but he didn’t press Kaori either. If she was uncomfortable then he wouldn’t force her to stay.
Soon, Kaori left and Yuichi decided to make something for Hiroto and himself.
If anyone else would have been coming over, Yuichi would have ordered food online. However, his dear friend Hiroto is a fitness freak who barely eats outside. And Yuichi couldn’t bring himself to spend money on plain green salad and calorie-free coke. So he decided to better cook something at home.
Although Yuichi wasn’t brilliant at cooking like Minami, living alone for the past two years has forced him to learn some basic culinary skills and basic dishes like rice balls and omelet rolls.
Since it was snack time, Yuichi made tacos with salsa and shredded chicken. Along with it, he had some baked nachos and also some rice crackers. Morning’s egg sandwich was reheated in the oven, and when the doorbell rang, Yuichi had already brought everything to the dining table.
“Oh god, I am starving.” As if he possessed a dog’s nose, Hiroto didn’t even say ‘hi’ to Yuichi and advanced toward the dining space.
“Akiko-san didn’t make lunch?” Yuichi casually asked, to which Hiroto shook his head as he picked up the sandwich and sat down.
“She did but the energy I got from the food was utilized in thinking about you and Hanabi….haah, this is great. You would make a good wife someday.”
Ignoring the last remark, Yuichi focused on the more important matter, “What about Hanabi? Did you meet her?”
Yuichi couldn’t contact her since last night that’s why hearing her name from Hiroto made Yuichi a little anxious.
Hiroto first finished the food, which was in his mouth, before he gestured to Yuichi to bring him something to drink.
Yuichi clicked his tongue in annoyance at Hiroto’s noble-like temperament as he went to bring barley tea.
Once Hiroto was finished drinking two mouthfuls, he finally revealed, “I met her today. You have messed up a big time.”
He grew even more apprehensive as Yuichi sat down while facing Hiroto and listened to the whole story.
Slowly, the food from the table and Hiroto’s story came to an end, and Yuichi was left completely speechless and tense.
It would be a lie to say that Yuichi didn’t anticipate this. The moment he called Hanabi for help during the school invasion, he knew that her father wouldn’t take this lightly.
And now, either Yuichi has to completely detach himself from Hanabi or return to the gang.
Both choices seemed impossible.
As such, Yuichi has to find a third option.
“I gotta go.” Yuichi got up, with the intention to meet Hanabi and sort this out.
However, before he could have taken even a step, Hiroto called out,
“If you go now, you might land into their trap.”
Hearing those words, Yuichi shifted his eyes to look at his friend in puzzlement,
“What do you mean?”
Hiroto finished the last crackers before responding, “If you wanna get back with Hanabi without rejoining that gang then I can help.”
Yuichi frowned and without even thinking twice he said, “Please tell me, Hiro. In this situation I feel completely helpless.” As he said, he sat down beside his friend with his whole attention on Hiroto.
Although Yuichi knew that Hiroto was not aware of everything related to that gang, for some reasons , when Hiroto said that he had a way, Yuichi felt like he could trust him.
