Student Council/An Annoying Junior/Angel-chan is Different from Usual
After I woke Tsukino up in the morning, we went to school together.
I was on a lunch break.
As usual, I was about to enter the student council room with my lunch box that Hinata had prepared for me.
“Ah, Yuto pai-sen.”
Before anyone else in the student council room, Yarihara noticed me and rushed over.
“Pai-sen, I heard. You and Hinata are brother and sisters.”
“Hey…! Yarihara, you already know about that!?”
“Do you know It’s the hottest rumor in our school right now? They said that the president of student council is a sister to an ordinary male student. Paisen, please be careful on the moonless night streets. You might be attacked by Hinata-senpai’s fans.”
No way. I haven’t told anyone about it yet.
Maybe Hinata had told her friends about it. So that was how shocking it was for the rumor to spread so fast widely.
“I’m really sorry to hear that, Paisen. …you were serious about Hinata-senpai, weren’t you?”
“…yeah, that’s how it is.”
After all, as long as I am Hinata’s younger brother, my broken heart is guaranteed.
“Thanks for worrying about me. But I’m fine. I mean, I never said I had a crush for Hinata, did I? Yarihara is just overthinking things.”
“…do you want to fondle my breasts? I can at least do that for you.”
“Nope, I don’t want to fondle it. You are a member of student council, don’t say such things.”
“Ah, that’s too bad. I was really hoping that Pai-sen would get together with Hinata-senpai. Well, let’s think positively. If you think about it, Hinata-senpai was a very difficult one to get.”
Yarihara’s tone of voice was easy-going.
I guess she was still trying to cheer me up with all of this going on.
“So, please cheer up. Everyone in the student council is supporting you.”
When I looked at everyone, the students in the student council all awkwardly looked down at once. They may be concerned for me, but I’m actually kind of offended when they show that much sympathy.
Among all of them, Tsukino was the only one who tilted her head, as if she did not understand the situation.
Perhaps Tsukino didn’t know anything about my rumor?
But if I’m going to tell her that me and Hinata are sister and brothers, I want to make it a place where we can talk about it slowly. Should I take her out of the student council room?
At that moment, I looked at Tsukino who was reading a novel.
“Well, let’s think positively, Pai-Sen. Hinata-senpai is your sister, right? she seems to be good at housework. Aren’t you lucky? Even us, as women, would love to have her as our wife.”
As Yahrihara was speaking to me,
I saw her from the corner of my eye, as if that moment was frozen in time. Tsukino’s hand stopped as she flipped through the paperback of her novel.
I didn’t know what’s wrong, but she seemed to be acting a little strange.
I was really surprised when Tsukino suddenly walked towards me with her eyes still down on her novel and sat down next to me.
“Yuto. What Yarihara said just now, is it true? …Hinata-san is Yuto’s older sister.”
Oh, I see. She heard what Yarihara said earlier.
That’s surprising, isn’t it? The outstanding student council president is actually your childhood friend’s older sister.
“Oh, it’s true. I just recently found out about it as well. Apparently Hinata is my half-sister. For various reasons, we’ve never lived together before.”
“Oh, I see. That’s how it is.”
…what? she had no reaction to it?
In an instant, Tsukino closed her novel. She, returned to her seat, took the sandwich she had bought at a store and she walked towards the exit of the student council room.
“You’re leaving even before you had your lunch? I have so much to tell you.”
“I’m sorry, I just remembered I have something to do. If it’s about Hinata-san, I’ll ask you about it another time.”
After saying this, Tsukino quickly left the room.
Yarihara, who had been silently watching the whole thing, looked at me with a blank expression and said,
“Wow, she really is the moon angel, isn’t she? I screamed when I first heard about it, but Tsukino-senpai didn’t even show a single expression on her face.”
…I’m a little sad. I’ve known Tsukino since she was a little girl, and we’ve been together as if we are family. I thought she would be more interested in me when she found out I had an older sister, but she was so casual about it.
Just as I was feeling a little sad, a junior student, which is a member of the student council, came into the room. She looked at us in surprise,
“I saw Tsukino-senpai leaving the student council room just now. …Tsukino-senpai, were acting strange, did something happen?”
We tilted our heads, as she said it in disbelief,
“Tsukino-senpai, was smiling, wasn’t she? I was so surprised! I’ve never seen Tsukino in such a good mood before.”
“What—”
Smiling? Tsukino?
At that moment, everyone in the student council room started talking about it at once. Meanwhile Yarihara, looked dumbfounded.
“No, no way that could have been true. It’s that moon angel, right? I’ve never seen she smiling before, so maybe you just misread her face just before she sneezed?”
“I wouldn’t make such a silly mistake! I told you, she was really smiling. I wish I had taken a picture of it.”
In the end, no one believed her and the conversation drifted away. Even I, who had known Tsukino for a long time, had no idea why she was suddenly in a good mood, and thought there must be some kind of mistake.
That couldn’t be true, she had never smiled before.
Not yet, not until that moment.
