First Meeting/Daily Crisis/Black Black Coffee
It didn’t take really long for the appointed Saturday to arrive.
By the way, I know nothing about the woman who is my sister. I wanted him to at least tell me her name and age, but he cut me out saying, “You’ll know that when you meet her.”
Just as I finished preparing the tea. The sound of the bell echoed through the room.
“Y-yes, c-coming.”
As I was standing on the doorway, I slowly approached the peephole.
“What!?”
In front of the door was a girl of the same age as me, wearing a neat dress.
It was Hinata.
Why is Hinata here…? I hurriedly opened the door, and there was Hinata looking very nervous.
“Oh, Yuto. Well, hello. It’s been a while since we’ve seen each other outside of school, hasn’t it?”
“Y-yeah, that’s right. By the way, why is Hinata at my house? Is there an urgent business with the student council?”
When was the last time I saw Hinata in casual clothes? I find myself getting a little nervous at the sight of her in casual clothes that I am not used to seeing her in.
“Ah, I’m sorry for making you stand there and talk. Let’s come inside… Oh, by the way, I am going to meet up with someone soon.”
“…no, not at all. There’s nothing to do with the student council. I came here because I have something important to tell you, Yuto.”
“You have something important to tell me?”
“Tetsuya told you, didn’t he? That Yuto, have a sister.”
“Eh?”
Wait a minute. How does Hinata know my dad’s name? No, how did she know I have a sister in the first place?
The only person other than me and my dad who knew that was my sister herself.
…no way.
“Hinata, could it be–”
“…I knew you hadn’t noticed.”
Hinata smiled.
The lovely smile on her face was captivating.
“I’m the student’s council president, Yuto’s classmate, as well as Yuto’s older sister, Hinata Asahina—from now on, we’ll be getting to know each other, okay?”
What kind of nightmare I am having?
I had no idea that my half-sister is the “sunflower goddess” whom I had a crush on.
“…???”
“I was surprised, when I first knew about it as well. Let’s see, Yuto and I are sisters and brothers, and although we have different mothers, we are Tetsuya’s children. Ok?”
This is not okay, not okay at all.
I can’t think straight at all. Hinata who is my first love is my half-sister. I can’t believe this at all.
“Ahh, I see. What a coincidence, I didn’t realize that my classmate was my half-sister. Anyway, do you want to come inside the house? I have a lot of questions to ask.”
“…Yu, Yuto? Are you okay? Your face is so pale…”
“Y-yeah, I’m fine, I’m fine. Don’t worry about it, okay?”
Well, I feel so bad that the world seems to be spinning in circles right now.
“Yeah, that’s right. Do you want a cup of coffee? I should probably calm down a bit, yeah.”
I went to the kitchen to prepare instant coffee for Hinata.
Could this be a prank? Hinata has a hidden camera, and members of the student council are watching my reaction right? When I turned around, they will say, “Suprise!” and all of the sudden, all of the student council are here with Hinata…
“Yu-Yuto!? Isn’t it a little bit too much for a cup of coffee!?”
“Eh… What!”
As I’m serving the coffee to Hinata, I realized what I did.
It seemed that I had put in too much coffee powder in it, I made a really thick black coffee.
What is this? A sip of this coffee will completely wake someone up for the whole week…!
“Oh, sorry! I just got spaced out. I’ll make a new one right now.”
“Ah, It’s fine, I’ll drink that coffee.”
“Eh– no, no, no! You can’t drink this! If you’re not careful, too much caffeine will destroy your body!”
“But, Yuto went out of his way to make it for me! It’s good manners to say thank you to whatever it is you’re having, right?”
“You are too good to me, I’m really sorry for this!”
“I like it a little bitter as well, so I’m fine with this, okay?”
“That’s beyond the level of bitter! I mean, the colour of the coffee makes me question myself if it’s even coffee anymore! Hey, why do you have your hand on the cup…!”
I tried my best to stop Hinata as she tries to drink the coffee.
Oh no, Hinata’s eyes are serious. If I let her, she’ll definitely drink it.
“I’m sorry, Hinata. I’m very glad you feel that way, but please don’t do it. I messed up, it’s my fault.”
“…yeah.”
Finally, Hinata put the cup of coffee on the table.
“I’m sorry. I know Yuto is upset that I’m your sister. You don’t have to worry about me, I think you should be alone for a bit.”
“But I was thinking we could talk about this over dinner somewhere later…”
“I know you don’t have the time to go out right Yuto? I’ll prepare a dinner for us, so don’t worry about it.”
‘…sorry for letting you do that. Sorry you have to take care of me.”
“Can I prepare the dinner here as well? I think Yuto is hungry too.”
“Oh, yes please. Sorry for taking care of me all the time…”
I looked over at Hinata’s gentle smile and went out onto the balcony.
