We came back to our house after that event.
In the living room.
“Taro, are you sure you’re okay? Are you hurt?”
Rin, sitting next to me on the sofa, looks at me with concern.
“I’m fine really…”
“Did that asshole-faced bastard punch you in the stomach?”
That’s a terrible thing to say…
“Why do you hate Hayato so much?”
“Because he did something terrible to my husband. Of course I’m going to be angry!”
Rin seemed to be really angry.
But.. There’s something strange about such a thing…
“Hey, Rin. Why are you so angry for someone like me?”
“I thought you didn’t like me?” I didn’t have the courage to say that.
“That kind of thing- the answer to that question is obvious.”
“Is that so?”
Rin smiled, hugged me and kissed me head-on.
It’s the sweetness of the debauchery, the softness and heat of her body.
Doddodo~…Rin’s heart is beating like a fast bell, thumping loudly.
Rin pulls her face away from me and says with a giggle.
“Do you understand now?”
“Ye-yes…”
It’s incredibly strange and inexplicable that she actually… likes me in such a way.
“What? Aren’t you happy?”
“N-no! I’m happy! I’m happy but… are you sure you’re okay with me?”
“Of course. I’m the happiest person in the world now that I’m married to Taro.”
She smiles at me just like the brilliance of a big flower.
It’s hard to believe that she is the same as the lone flower that blooms in class.
When I think that I’m the only one who actually knows about her smile, I feel like… it’s a great honor.
“But didn’t you hate it when our grandfathers forced us to marry?”
“What?”
Then she suddenly became grumpy and glared at me again.
“Eh? Eh…? Why are you angry now…?”
“I don’t know anymore, Taro’s an idiot. Dullard.”
“Hmmph”, Rin said and headed towards the kitchen.
I wondered if she was angry… but she was chopping up the vegetables on the cutting board as if they were enemies of her parents.
“Just as I thought, she doesn’t like me after all…?”
“No, of course not! Stupid! Come on! Why can’t you understand me!”
…Honestly, there are a lot of things I don’t understand.
But… There are two things that I’m certain about.
One – she doesn’t hate me as much as I think she does,
And the other one is… that I think I like Rin much more than I think I do.
Even though we are childhood friends, there are many things I don’t actually know about her.
But I’m going to take my time to understand her.
Cause we’re a married couple after all.
