Episode 10: My Wife And The Game

After taking a bath, I was all alone in the living room.

“Fu~”

After that, I didn’t listen to Rin when she asked to go into the bathtub together.

As expected, going together in a bathtub, naked?! I ran away because the level was too high for me right now.

Rin also left right after that. She was currently drying her hair in the bathroom.

Her long hair is beautiful, but it looks like it needs a lot of care to look that way.

“I’m bored, let’s just play a game for now.”

We have a big screen LCD TV in my house.

Our grandparents had bought the furniture for the house as well.

I turned on the TV and the game console.

And I started playing a game of Smash Brothers, seeing all the characters battling it out in a brawl. (TL: Super Smash Bros. is a Japanese series of crossover fighting video games published by Nintendo, and primarily features characters from various Nintendo franchises.)

As I was clicking the buttons…

“Taro, what are you doing?”

Rin, right after her bath, sat down next to me.

She smells… so good.

She is wearing lovely pink pajamas.

You can see the bulge on her clothes and the… tip is… no, I’m not going to say anything.

“I’m playing a fighting game.”

“Fu-n~, a match? With whom?”

“With people I don’t know. Nowadays, you can play against people all over the country via the Internet.”

“Hee~ Is that so?… I didn’t know about that”

“Don’t you play any games, Rin?”

“No, not at all. It was more fun to watch Taro play these games instead.”

I remember that every time I went to Rin’s house, she would stare intensely at me whilst I played on her game console..

I don’t know why the game console was there if she didn’t play it herself, but it seems like it  was there for me…

“Would you like to play a game with me?”

“Eh…? Is that okay, Taro?”

“Yes. It’s more fun to play a game together than to watch someone else play it after all.”

Rin was flabbergasted… and rolled her eyes.

“It’s even more fun when we play together.”

“Taro…”

Her eyes were moistened with emotion. Then she immediately rushed in and hugged me.

“I’m so happy~♡”

“W-Wait! Ri-Rin-san! It’s hitting me! Rin-san! The flesh part!”

That’s right, She’s not wearing a bra right now!

It’s too soft and dangerous!

“Do you want me to get even closer?”

“Get away! Stay at the right distance!”

Rin smiles flatly… and sits down.

“But there’s no extra controller for me?”

“It’s okay. This console comes with two controllers.”

I take off the controllers attached to the left and right sides of the console with a tick. [ED: Based on this I can confirm that the console he has is a Nintendo Switch.]

“W-Wow… current game consoles are so amazing. It’s like a brand new toy.”

“Here, take this. So. here are the buttons to…”

I give Rin a lecture on how to operate it properly.

Rin nodded obediently.

“I’ve got the gist of it.”

“So, do you want to play a small match?”

“That’s fine. I’ll tell you what, I’m pretty good with my hands. So, I’ll beat up Taro badly, okay?”

It’s true that Rin has always been a child who can do many things with just a few instructions given to her.

She could ride a bike on the same day that she was being taught to ride one…

“Okay, let’s play then.”

“Fufun~ Taro. That’s as far as you can go. I’ll beat you up and if you lose…”

“And if I lose?”

“If you lose, I’ll soothe you with my breasts.”

She smiles after saying that statement.

What a glamorous reward.

“Then pick your favorite character.”

“Is there a character called Taro?”

“No.”

“What, there’s no Taro?… If so then it doesn’t really have a character that I like, well whatever.”

I’m not sure how much she really likes me… But I’m glad she does.

I chose the green dinosaur and Rin chose the pink star-like creature. (TL: i think it’s Yoshi and Kirby, well i don’t know much about this) [ED: This is probably Yoshi and Kirby]

『Ready… Fight!』

One minute later.

“I lost… so badly…”

Rin looked at the screen with a stunned expression on her face.

“I didn’t even deal any damage? What’s going on…?”

“S-Sorry.”

I thought I had cut corners because I was playing against a beginner so I didn’t want her to hate the game because of me.

But I didn’t realize that she was this weak… What happened to the confidence she had earlier…?

“O-One more time! Taro, once more!”

“Oh, okay!”

I chose the same character, and Rin chose the Great King with the Hammer. (TL: I think this is King Dedede)

“I had chosen the wrong character before. Okay, I’ll win this time. Taro, you’ve earned your victory but not anymore!”

Thirty seconds later.

“I lost again?! I had no luck! Why!?”

“Um, sorry.”

Her attacks are really easy to read.

It’s more linear than a standard boar’s attack.

“I think we should stop playi-.”

“Not yet! Again.”

Fifteen seconds later.

“Whyyyyyy?”

Gaku… And Rin slumped her head.

“Rin should learn to use tactics a little better”

“Tactics?”

“Yes. You should not only think about hitting your own attacks. You have to also read your opponent’s attacks as well.”

“Wow… Taro, you’ve been doing that all this while?”

“Eh? Isn’t this normal though?”

Rin looks at me with sparkling eyes.

“Taro is amazing. A genius.”

“No, you’re exaggerating.”

“Un, you’re really amazing. Taro, can you teach me how to read opponents moves?”

“Sure.”

We sat side by side and played another round together.

It’s really fun… doing the same thing with each other.

“What’s wrong, Taro? You started smiling all of a sudden.”

“Yeah, it’s because I’m having fun right now.”

“I see. I’m having a lot of fun, too. I’ve learnt a lot of things that I didn’t know about before.”

“That goes true for me, too. I’ve learnt that Rin is quite… competitive and hates to lose.”

Pout, and Rin’s lips pouted as if she was sulking at my comment.

“It’s your fault. It’s because you’re too strong.”

“Shall I go easy on you then?”

“No need! Watch me, I’ll win against you this time.”

I beat her in 10 seconds, and she looked at the screen with a stunned expression.

“That was so fast… I lost before I could even see what you did to me.”

“Sorry. I’m beating up on a newbie. Am I being immature?”

“T-That’s right! It’s not mature! Taro is being immature!”

“I should go easy on you then.”

“You don’t have to do that.”

I thought we had been together for a long time, but I realized that there was still a lot that I didn’t know about her.
In the end, Rin never beat me even once.

“Watch… I’ll practice a lot, and one day I will definitely beat Taro at this game.”

“Yes, I’ll practice with you.”

“Really?”

“Yeah.”

I don’t even know what it means to be married yet, and I’m not sure what kind of feelings I have for her right now.

But from now on, little by little, I hope we can share our time together and become a…  real couple.
