Chapter 6 – This Blissful and Wonderful Feeling [Sewa Sumire’s POV]
[Sewa Sumire’s POV]
After I finished cleaning up breakfast, I placed the medicine in front of Youichi-san.
He still seemed to be in pain and his complexion didn’t look very good.
I prepared some water and placed the remote control on the table so that he could relax while watching TV.
I changed my clothes and ran out of the house.
Youichi-san looked like he wanted to say something, but I couldn’t compromise on this, so I wouldn’t let him say anything.
After all, if I didn’t do that, Youichi-san would be reluctant to let me go shopping. I wouldn’t mind staying in the house and being with him, but I really want him to get better. I have to buy a lot of side dishes as well.
Since Youichi-san is a man, he’ll probably eat a lot.
I never knew that taking care of someone could be so fulfilling and enjoyable.
Come to think of it, Youichi-san used to be an assistant to a manga artist.
Even though he graduated from an art university, I can’t understand a world where you make a living by drawing.
I’ve been learning the piano since I was young, so I understand music a little, but I’m not good at drawing at all.
I’m studying law in university right now, so I used to think I wanted to be a lawyer or a judge in the future.
However, thanks to Youichi-san, I learned the joy of taking care of someone.
It might be a good idea to work as a caregiver instead of a lawyer.
“Fufu, I’ve already checked the sizes of Youichi-san’s shirts and pants yesterday, so it’s okay.”
I said I threw away Youichi-san’s shirt that was covered in blood and had a hole in it from the knife, but I’ll be keeping it safe.
Because it’s something that Youichi-san had worn. It’s also a memento of the first time we met.
Of course I’ll treasure it.
I went into the men’s clothing section and bought clothes that fit Youichi-san’s size.
Since Youichi-san’s arm is bandaged, perhaps slightly larger sizes would be better? I might inadvertently incorporate my own preferences when imagining the clothes I want him to wear.
The weather is still hot, so I should find shirts with short sleeves.
Considering the air conditioning inside the house, he might feel cold. I’ll also buy some shirts that he can layer, which I’m sure will look good on Youichi-san.
I never thought I would have so much fun shopping while thinking about Youichi-san.
I suddenly thought about it.
Why did Youichi-san help me? There was nobody else around at the scene. He apparently hurriedly spotted me being taken away from a distance.
Police later told me that he didn’t have his smartphone with him and ran to the convenience store.
He went out of his way to help me.
What’s more, he didn’t just call the police. He thought I might be attacked and came to the park, regardless of the danger, to buy time until the police arrived.
I never imagined such a man existed.
“Hah…hah…hah… This is no good… But how wonderful.”
When I think of Youichi-san, my heart pounds.
I grabbed Youichi-san’s pants, which I had put in my bag with the intention of putting them in the laundry basket, and tried to calm myself down.
“That’s right. I need to buy a lot of pants and shirts. Maintaining cleanliness is important for us to be together for a long time.”
When I was shopping in a happy mood, I saw a woman yelling at the shopping mall.
“Why!”
The woman shouting had her hands on the table, yelling at the woman sitting across from her.
However, the woman opposite her just had a troubled expression.
“Ijichi-sensei, please calm down. Didn’t you come out here for a change of scenery?”
“Hmph, I am calm. But why hasn’t he come back?”
“Isn’t that because Sensei fired him?”
“Still, he should be back by now!”
The woman wearing glasses and yelling hysterically is beautiful and impressive despite her petite body.
On the other hand, the woman in the suit looks calm and gentle, smiling kindly as if to soothe.
“This is the fifth time, and he left his smartphone behind as well. I’m afraid he won’t come back. Sensei should give up and look for another assistant.”
“There can’t be anyone to replace him. He’s the only one who can draw my background. Do you think I’ll be satisfied with the background drawn by someone else?”
“We’ll have to find a way to make you satisfied. Although we gave you a break this week, we need the manuscript by next week. There are many readers eagerly waiting for your work, Sensei.”
I wonder if she’s a manga artist? Thinking about how tough it must be for her, I finished shopping and headed to the supermarket.
I want Youichi-san to eat a lot and regain his strength.
Should I splurge on meat? But he seemed a bit unwell this morning, so maybe something light would be better for digestion?
I was worried about what to make, so I called Mom.
Her gentle voice came through the phone, and I told her about last night’s events.
At first, she was surprised, but as expected of my mother,
“Oh, he sounds like a wonderful person. Sumire, don’t let him slip away. Age doesn’t matter. His job doesn’t matter. As long as he can protect you, there’s no problem.”
“Thank you, Mom. I never knew taking care of someone could bring me so much happiness.”
“Fufu, I enjoy taking care of your father too. You’re fortunate to meet someone you feel that way about.”
I’m glad that I can share my feelings with Mom.
I finished my shopping and returned home where Youichi-san was waiting for me.
(T/N: Mom approves already! Muehehehehe)
