Ever since that incident at the family restaurant, I had been showering Shikino with intense love, almost like an obsession even. We were in between the second and third period. During this 15 minute break, I met with Shikino in an empty classroom and we kissed. I was the one who had called her here. There was no particular reason. I just wanted her to come and she complied obediently, which brought us to this moment.

Our lips parted. Shikino’s shoulders were heaving a bit. Her flushed face was filled with longing. I tried to calm my rough breathing by sweeping my fingers through my little sister’s hair. 

I knew. I knew this was not something we should be doing within school. I knew that, but I couldn’t stop myself. These days, I found my emotions going awry whenever I didn’t look at Shikino for even just a second. Just looking at her like this made my heart feel so fulfilled. I felt like I could finally breathe easily with Shikino by my side. The same could be said about Shikino. As I stroked her hair, her cloudy eyes became half-lidded. With a blissful, almost sickly smile, she touched my hand that had been caressing her hair. Then, she slowly stroked my hand and brought it to her lips.

What is she going to do?

I thought to myself, but soon enough, the answer was unraveled by Shikino herself. She began licking my index finger, gently nibbling on it. It wasn’t just me who was losing it. Shikino too.

“…Shikino. Did you do this kind of thing with Sugisaki-kun too?”

“…I see. Then, we’ll have to sever all contact with Sugisaki-kun. We need to block his account too.”

Upon hearing this, Shikino stopped licking my finger and widened her eyes, which were already clouded with obsession.

Shikino tightened her grip on my hand. Her eyes were completely deranged. She could see no one but me. The light only shone on me. That was how her gaze felt to me.

“I should’ve relied only on you from the start. I should’ve lived only for you. I didn’t know you cared about me this much until now.”

“…Then, that must be my fault…”

“Because I acted cold and distant toward Onii-chan… I made Onii-chan feeling anxious… Everything is Shikino’s fault. You don’t need to apologize, Onii-chan. Onii-chan,you… You’ve done nothing wrong… Nothing at all…”

We held each other so, so, so tightly, desperately clinging to each other. The bell soon started ringing, signaling the start of the next period. And yet, we didn’t stop clinging to each other. We pressed our bodies together, listening to each other’s heartbeat. I remembered the thing I had said to Orihara-san before.

And those words couldn’t be more accurate. From here on, no one could break apart the bond between Shikino and me. Whatever they tried, I would make sure everything would end in vain. I would make sure to completely claim Shikino for myself until she broke.

“Today… D-Do you want to leave school early today…?”

“Huh?”

“I… I can’t hold it anymore… I really can’t hold it in anymore…”

Shikino’s whole body was trembling in my arms as she said so. Her legs looked like they had no strength in them. I glanced at the clock and turned my attention back to Shikino again. 

“Yeah, sure. Then, today—”

I was about to say something when suddenly, the door to the empty classroom was knocked on by someone. Both of us turned to the door. I was surprised. I was glad I had locked the door beforehand. I pulled Shikino away from me and approached the door. 

“…Who is it?”

I asked and an answer immediately came to me. 

“Who knows?~ Anyway, could you open the door for me?”

It was a girl. The one knocking on the door was a girl. I didn’t know who she was, but it wasn’t Orihara-san. She didn’t sound like Orihara-san.

“Are you a teacher…? Nah. What year are you in?”

“Ahahaha~ You really don’t have any manners, huh? Before asking for someone’s identity, you need to introduce yourself first, you know?~”

Her tone felt unpleasant to my ear. Although she sounded somewhat cheerful, but her voice was laced with a strange aggression. 

“Well, even if you don’t tell me, I already know who you two are anyway.”

“You two are…?”

“Yes. You two are. Mamori Unami, second year and Shikino Unami, first year.”

I was left speechless. How did she know we were here? And how did she even know who we were?

“I’m here on a small errand. Anyway, could you please open the door? I promise I won’t do anything bad to you.”

“…”

“If you don’t open it, I will tell the teachers what you were doing in this classroom… Including what you were about to do next.”

I had no idea what was going on, but for some reason I had a hunch the woman on the other side of the door genuinely knew everything. 

“…What is the meaning of this? How do you know about us? Were you following us?”

“Answer my question. Were you following us?”

“Why? What’s your purpose?”

I asked and she only chuckled softly. 

“I already told you, didn’t I? I’m on a little errand here. I won’t say who it’s for though.”

“…Is it for Megumi Orihara?”

“Well, who knows?~ I won’t tell you who it’s for and even if you force me to answer with a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ question, I can just lie to you.”

“…So it’s Megumi Orihara. Go away. I have nothing to talk with you about.”

“Well, I do. I do have something to say, even if you don’t. Also, you’re acting all haughty and confident, but do you realize I’m the one who has the advantage in this situation? I already told you, right? I will tell the teachers what you two were doing here. Do you understand your position here?”

“…”

“I don’t really care about you two, you know? In fact, I can go to the teachers right now. Hahaha!”

It seemed it would be best if we listened to her now. I glanced at Shikino before returning my gaze back to the door. After a brief pause, I finally relented. 

“Alright.”

The girl seemed to be enjoying herself, but that only annoyed me even more.

Left in the unknown, I unlocked the door. When I opened the door, the girl who had been knocking was standing there, just as the voice had suggested.

It turned out, I really didn’t know who she was.
