I walked side by side while holding hands with Shikino. To anyone watching, we definitely looked like a normal couple.

Well, I mean, we really are a couple. I just can’t stop myself from wondering if anyone would think we’re actually brother and sister. 

Shikino’s charm seemed to captivate even the passerby. We kept receiving glances ever so often. Some people who already had someone with them even turned around to whisper about us. There were even a few people who clicked their tongues in jealousy. That was just how adorable Shikino was. As a big brother, I couldn’t stop myself from being proud of her and at the same time, I couldn’t seem to understand why someone as charming as her was dumped by Sugisaki. Sure, her love could be a bit heavy at times, but it wasn’t that troubling. You could easily ignore the heavy part a bit and just continue dating her…

“…Onii-chan,where exactly are we going…?”

“Hmm… Well, it’s a place where you can feel really good… I guess?”

“…Hmm…”

…Huh? For some reason, Shikino’s face turned bright red and she started looking at the ground. Did I say something weird?

“Hm? What’s wrong, Shikino?”

“…N-no, it’s just… I was a little surprised…”

“Surprised…?”

“Onii-chan is… Really bold, huh…”

“B-b-b-bold…???”

What? What was so bold about that?? I was just thinking of going to karaoke. What was so bold about that? Oh… Maybe because we were going to sing in a private room? Maybe it was a bit too much? After all, we just started dating only recently…

“Ah! So-Sorry, Shikino! Yo-You’re right! I mean, we’re still siblings, so to suddenly book a private room is…!”

“I-I can’t believe Onii-chan is taking me to a hotel… Thi-This is my first time, so…”

“Wha-?! Ho-Ho-Hotel???”

I let out a pathetic sound due to how surprised I was. Without thinking twice, the two of us stopped dead on our tracks on the roadside. 

No, wait a minute.

The misunderstanding aside, didn’t Shikino just say something incredibly outrageous?

“Wai-Wai-Wai-Wait a minute, Shikino?! That… Umm… I mean…. Err… Fi-Fi-First time…? Wha-What did you mean by that…?”

“…”

“Yo-You mean… Yo-Your first time to a hotel, right…?”

After all, Shikino used to have a boyfriend with the name Sugisaki. We were already high school students. It was only natural for high school couples to do that. I really thought Shikino had already….

“…”

Shikino shook her head from side to side weakly. Her cheeks turned an adorable shade of red. I couldn’t stop myself from gasping. Feeling embarrassed as well, I looked downward. Within this awkward mood, I fumbled to find the right words. 

“…I-I’m sorry, Shikino… I ended up making a weird misunderstanding… What I meant to say was… I wanted to take you to the karaoke… By-By feeling good, I mean you can vent your heart to feel refreshed…”

“Fueh…?!”

“I-I’m sorry for saying it in a weird way. I was definitely at fault. I’m sorry.”

Looking around, I realized there were various suspicious places of that notion scattered around. I didn’t notice at all. The only things I noticed were the gazes of those around us and the fact that I was walking by Shikino’s side. But…

“…”

“-?! Shi-SHikino?!”

Without saying anything, Shikino silently gripped not only my right hand, but also my left. She brought my hands together into one and then, she gave me upturned eyes with a shy and sorrowful expression on her face. I almost instinctively turned my face away from her, but I slowly redirected my gaze back at her. High school students staring at each other in a love hotel district. If someone were to see us, we would get in deep trouble. However, ignoring that, Shikino said to me. 

“..It’s fine. I was at fault for jumping to the wrong conclusion too…”

“N-No, that’s not—”

“But… I’m still going to call you ‘an idiot’ because you caused me to make an embarrassing misunderstanding…”

“Ye-Yeah… Hahaha… My bad. You’re right. It was my fault. I’m an idiot.”

I didn’t even notice where we were. I ended up walking toward an incredulous area with my little sister.

“…Onii-chan…”

“Hm?”

“We’re… We’re going to karaoke, right…?”

“Ye-Yeah. That’s right. Karaoke. It’s just ahead from here.”

“Mmh… Then…”

“..!”

The distance between us grew closer. Shikino placed her hand to cover her mouth and then, she stood on her tiptoes a bit as she whispered softly into my ear. 

“Let’s continue our conversation from earlier… At the karaoke…”

“Huh…? The-The conversation from earlier…?”

My breath grew labored and my heart raced. I felt my body temperature slowly rising too. 

“It’s about… My first time…”

After that, we entered the karaoke place without saying much. However, our hands remained intertwined. We told the receptionist there were only two of us. We received our number plate and then, we entered our designated private room. This wasn’t the place to do that kind of thing. This was a place to sing. However, the mood between us felt so intimate. We obviously looked like a couple who was about to engage in something more… Lewd. Both of our cheeks were flushed and instead of sitting facing each other, we were sitting side by side on the chairs, still holding hands. 

This silence mustn’t go on anymore. I had to say something. 

“Shi-Shikino. Do-Do you want something to drink? J-Just tell me if there’s something you want.”

Looking softly into my eyes, Shikino shook her head. 

“Nope. I’m good for now. We can go get drinks together later.”

“…I-I see…”

Then… What should we do until then…? 

I already knew the answer though, but I couldn’t force myself to bring the topic out first. If Shikino didn’t start talking about it herself, then I… 

“…Onii-chan…”

“….! Ye-Yeah… Wha-What is it…?”

“You know… I already said it before, but I…”

I gulped audibly. My throat felt unbearably parched, but I didn’t feel like drinking water right now. Forgot how to blink, I nodded as I focused my gaze on the ground.

“Yeah…?”

“You see… I’ve never done anything of that nature before…”
