After Escaping from a Black Company, I Ended Up Being Pampered by Sexy Beautiful Women - Chapter 8
Chapter 8: Sweet Poison
That day, in some place or another, this one guy was losing his shit completely.
“That fucking asshole! Where the hell is he wandering around right now?!”
He slammed his hand down on the desk super hard, like he was taking his anger out on the thing itself—BAM!
The employees in the room flinched, their shoulders shaking like they were scared, sneaking glances at him without wanting to get noticed.
“He’s not even picking up the phone… blocked my number!? Is he seriously messing with me?!”
And then—BAM!—another desk slam.
It looked like his anger wasn’t going anywhere since he had no one to take it out on. And yeah, this guy right here was exactly the shitty boss Takuya had been talking about.
You could definitely call this a classic piece of shit boss, huh.
“…God, what a pain.”
Then, quietly, one woman shook her head like she was so done with it all.
Her name was Kanzaki—the same one who’d been badmouthing Takuya together with the boss. She still had no clue that Takuya had overheard every word, so she kept thinking he saw her in a good light and that she still had him under control.
“Well, no need to worry about it. He’ll probably come crawling back soon anyway.”
Just like Kanzaki, this boss guy was also the type who had zero understanding of how other people feel.
The kind of rotten person who’d throw away his own subordinates without a second thought if it meant boosting his own record… that’s how rotten she was too, but there was just one thing she hadn’t predicted at all.
Because the truth was, Takuya had zero intention of ever coming back here.
They both figured there was no way he’d actually make that choice, but he already had—and now he wasn’t anywhere nearby… who knows when Kanzaki and the boss would finally realize it.

“…!?”
I jerked my eyes open and shot up in bed.
I threw the blanket off and immediately checked the clock… Shit! I gotta hurry up and get ready for work…!
“…Oh, right… I don’t have to go to the company anymore.”
My sleepy brain caught up to reality fast, and the panic just drained away.
Yeah… yesterday I chose to stay at the Anzai house… I don’t know for how long, but Mina-san and Reina-san both told me it was okay to be here.
“…Feels kinda weird.”
The place I woke up in was the room they’d prepared just for me.
They’d gone out of their way to give me an empty room, but unlike my old bare-bones place, this one actually felt lived-in… the smell of tatami mats and stuff—it reminded me of my grandma’s house back in the day.
“A rooster crowing…”
Probably coming from some house nearby, but I could hear a rooster.
It was like it was yelling at me to get up already, but honestly? This kind of thing didn’t feel bad at all… nah, the best part was there were barely any cars around, so no honking or anything… seriously the nicest way to wake up ever.
I was just spacing out for a bit when—tap tap—someone knocked on the sliding door.
“Ah, yeah?”
“Excuse me, Takuya-san.”
The one who came in was Mina-san.
“Good morning, Takuya-san.”
“Morning…”
How long had it been since someone said good morning to me right after I woke up…? It’d been so long that I probably looked super awkward, ‘cause Mina-san covered her mouth and giggled quietly.
“You look like you’re not used to it at all. That’s really cute♪”
Getting called cute as a guy isn’t exactly thrilling, but when Mina-san smiled at me like that, I just kinda accepted whatever she said without fighting it.
“Breakfast is ready, so come down whenever you’re done getting ready, okay?”
“G-got it!”
Breakfast…!
No way I could keep them waiting, so I jumped up right away, got changed, and headed downstairs.
When I reached the living room, the same delicious smell from last night’s dinner greeted me again.
Mina-san and Reina-san were already sitting there, both looking at me with gentle smiles.
“Good morning, Takuya-kun.”
“Good morning, Reina-san.”
Same as with Mina-san, saying hi to Reina-san made me kinda nervous… but it still felt really nice, no question.
It was only the day after yesterday, though, so I figured it’d take a while before I really got used to being here.
“Come on, let’s eat.”
“Yes♪ Don’t hold back, Takuya-san, dig in.”
“U-uh, yeah… itadakimasu.”
Breakfast had white rice, rolled omelette, sausages, grilled salted mackerel, miso soup—pretty much all my favorite stuff piled up like crazy.
Just like last night, I couldn’t stop eating at all.
Looks like both Mina-san and Reina-san really loved seeing someone eat a ton, ‘cause they seemed super happy watching how much I was putting away.
“…So good… didn’t know breakfast this tasty even existed in the world.”
“Aww, isn’t that a bit much?”
“Hehe, Mom, you’re grinning like crazy, you know?”
It was probably a pretty normal breakfast menu, nothing fancy.
But what I really meant was the feeling behind the food… like I could sense the kindness of the person who made it, that warmth or whatever… nah, I’ll stop there.
Pretty much any experience I have right now was gonna end up making me feel that way.
“…Phew, thanks for the meal.”
After that, breakfast was done.
My stomach was full and I felt satisfied, but at the same time I couldn’t help wondering if it was really okay for me to feel this content.
“Takuya-san, it’s okay, you know.”
“Huh?”
“It’s okay to feel satisfied.”
Mina-san’s words felt like she’d looked straight into my heart.
Reina-san gazed at me too and gave a soft nod, bringing back that same sense of safety I’d felt yesterday.
“To be honest… even now, a whole day later, I’m still kinda lost. Like, is it really okay for me to lean on your kindness this much…?”
“Of course it’s okay.”
“Yeah, because this is exactly what we want.”
Seriously… how many kind words were they gonna keep giving me?
All the yelling and shitty memories stuck in my head—they could make me forget them with just a little conversation… being around them felt dangerously good.
‘Cause this was just too sweet… way too poisonous for me.
“Right then, I’m off to school. See you later this evening, Takuya-san.”
“Ah, yeah… right. You’ve got work… I mean school.”
“Yes♪ See you later!”
“Have a good day, Mina.”
“Have a good day…”
Saying “have a good day”… man, that felt like forever since I last said it.
Mina-san smiled at my words and left just like that.
Now it was just me and Reina-san left in the house.
“Hey, Takuya-kun.”
“Yeah?”
“While you’re staying here, Takuya-kun… yeah, you should learn how to rely on someone. How to let yourself be spoiled a little.”
“…!?”
