“Ma-Magic…? Wha–what is that…?”
The boss of the ‘Unknown’ looked utterly bewildered and asks, unable to comprehend what had just happened.
“It wasn’t the power of a skill?”
“Nope. There are various forces in this world other than just skills. And before such forces, your Skill Canceler, which only works on skills, is useless.”
“No way…”
Despair spread across the boss’s face.
“Wha–what’s… that supposed to mean…? That’s cheating…”
“Well… even if you put it that way…”
“S-stop… don’t come any closer!!”
The boss cried out in a trembling voice.
“Stay away!! No!! Don’t come near me. Please, I don’t want to die!!”
I wonder where the confidence he had moments ago had gone. Now, he was just a pitiful villain, screaming in desperation.
“Don’t worry. I won’t kill you.”
I smiled reassuringly.
“R-really…?”
A glimmer of hope appeared in the boss’s eyes.
To that hopeful boss, I had prepared to dash them into hell.
“I’ll just make you, my slave.”
“Sto—”
The boss’s words didn’t continue till the end, as I placed my hand on his forehead and instantly engraved the slave crest on him.
“….”
The light fades away from the boss’s eyes. Another obedient slave, awaiting my commands, was born.
“From now on, you are my servant. You are a familiar that will obey every command I give. Understood?”
“Yes.”
“Then, gather all the terrorists occupying different sections of the building to the rooftop. Moreover, instruct them on not doing anything to the hostages.”
“Yes.”
The boss returned to his car and began typing on his computer. After a few minutes, he came back to me.
“It’s done.”
“Good. Now, go in the car and wait.”
“Yes.”
The boss got into the car and waited as instructed. I hid my presence at a short distance away, waiting for the members of the ‘Unknown’ to gather.
Soon, all members of the ‘Unknown’ began arriving on the rooftop swiftly, using the elevators and stairs.
“Hey hey, what’s going on? This isn’t part of the plan…?”
“We’re supposed to gather on the rooftop without hurting the hostages…? Are you being serious…?”
“In that case, the hostages might escape away damn it?”
“What is the boss even thinking?”
The members of the ‘Unknown’, who had occupied the various floors, gathered around the boss’s car.
“Hey, boss…! Just what’s going on?!”
“The hostages will escape at this rate!!”
“Hey Boss!! You even listening?!”
The members banged the car, trying to get the boss’s attention. I waited until enough of them were gathered around the car before unleashing my magic.
“Fireball!”
Boom!!!
I aimed a fireball at the gasoline tank. The car exploded, sending shockwaves through the air.
Members of the ‘Unknown’ were blown away with their bodies flung into the air by the blast.
Beep, beep, beep, beep.
Amongst the alarms siren that blared around us, I approached the burning car, to the terrorists one after another.
“Ouch…”
“What the…”
“Guohh, that hurts…!”
I began incapacitating the groaning and struggling members who were trying to get on their feet, one by one with spells.
“Paralyze.”
“Ugh…”
“Sleep.”
“…zzz.”
“Poison.”
“Arghhhh!”
One by one, I neutralized them. And about in a minute, they were all subdued.
“Phew… That should be it.”
I surveyed the rooftop. Members of the ‘Unknown’ laying scattered around, some paralyzed, some asleep, and others writhing in agony from near-lethal doses of poison.
No one among them could move.
I dusted off my hands.
“Well then, since don’t want to be mistake as one of them, I should be on my way as well.”
With the ‘Unknown’ no longer monitoring the hostages, they should be able to escape freely now. If I stayed too long, I might be mistaken as one of the members of ‘Unknown’ myself.
Leaving the cleanup to the police, I quickly made my way off the rooftop.
