- Actually, There’s Someone at Your Workplace Who Likes You ~ I’m Being Transferred to a Sales Office Filled With Only Beautiful Women!?
- Chapter 12: Honoka Is In Trouble Again (Hasn't She Been In Too Much Trouble?)
[Rinta’s Side]
The next day──
It was my second day at the new workplace.
When I arrived at work in the morning, Aido-san asked me about my plans for the night.
As a single man living alone, I had no plans.
When I said that, Aido-san told me that they were going to hold a welcome party for me that night.
It was common practice to have a welcome party when there was a transfer within the company.
It was common, but…
I wondered if I’d be able to keep up a conversation at a drinking party with three women…
I was only filled with anxiety, but of course, I smiled and replied to Aido-san, saying “Understood.”
They were holding the welcome party for me, so it was only polite to attend.
Then, the workday began, and I was handed a list of client companies with weak business relationships by Director Jinguji.
Based on that list, I was assigned to visit these companies starting today, as part of my introduction as the new transfer.

After I finished my rounds visiting companies and returned to the office in the evening, Aido-san was working alone.
“Where are the other two?”
“Both Director and Honoka-senpai are out visiting companies.”
“I see.”
I sat down at my desk and began typing up the report for today’s client visits on my computer.
On the desk across from mine, Aido-san was diligently working on some documents on her computer.
After a while, the phone rang, and Aido-san answered it.
“Ah, yes… I’m terribly sorry. Yes… Unfortunately, Kozakai-san is out. Yes… I’ll have her contact you right away. Yes… I sincerely apologize.”
Aido-san had a pale face and was bowing repeatedly toward the phone.
It seemed like a complaint call.
“What happened?”
I waited for Aido-san to hang up the phone and then asked.
From what I gathered, the call was from Shimizu Bussan, a company that Kozakai-san was responsible for.
They were saying that the documents Kozakai-san had promised to deliver yesterday still hadn’t arrived.
Apparently, they were in a bind because they needed to circulate those documents within the company by 5 PM today.
Aido-san tried calling Kozakai-san’s mobile, but it went to voicemail as she didn’t pick up.
When I looked at today’s schedule on the whiteboard, I saw that Kozakai-san was currently in a meeting with a new client.
“We might not get a call back for a while…”
Aido-san had a worried look on her face.
I glanced at the clock—it was 4:00 PM.
There was only one hour left until the 5:00 PM deadline the client had mentioned.
“Ah, the documents… they’re here.”
Aido-san spotted the documents that the client had mentioned, sitting on Kozakai-san’s desk.
She checked them and confirmed that all the documents were complete and could be delivered to the client.
“Where is Shimizu Bussan located?”
“Um… it’s about a 30-minute drive from here.”
A 30-minute drive, huh.
Even if we managed to get in touch with Kozakai-san right now…
If she had to come back first and then deliver the documents, it was likely she wouldn’t make it in time.
“Aido-san, I’ll take the documents and deliver them myself. Just tell me the client’s address.”
“Ah… Thank you, Hirabayashi-san. Here’s the address. The contact person is a woman named Hikawa-san from the General Affairs Department. Oh, and be careful because Honoka-senpai said Hikawa-san is quite difficult to deal with.”
“Got it, thanks. I’ll go now. Please let the client know that someone else will be delivering the documents.”
“Understood. Take care.”
Aido-san looked relieved and carefully handed me the envelope containing the documents.
I took the envelope from Aido-san and rushed out of the office, heading for the Shimizu Bussan office with the company car.

“I’m terribly sorry! My name is Hirabayashi from Rikuado. Kozakai-san is out, and I couldn’t get in touch with her, so I’ve come to deliver the documents on her behalf!”
While waiting at the reception, Hikawa-san came out to greet me. As soon as I saw her face, I bowed deeply at a 90-degree angle and apologized.
Hikawa-san looked a little older than me, maybe?
Her long, straight black hair was glossy, and she probably took good care of it.
Her company uniform was perfectly neat, not a single wrinkle, and the slim red-framed glasses complemented her appearance, making her seem like a very meticulous person.
Hikawa-san, with her sharp, beautiful features, had a rather displeased expression on her face. To be honest, it was quite intimidating. She had been described as a difficult person too.
“I’ll check this.”
Hikawa-san said coldly as she took the envelope and checked the documents inside. Her expression remained stern, and honestly, it was kind of scary.
“These documents are fine.”
Hikawa-san seemed slightly relieved, as her stern expression softened a bit. It was a relief that the documents had been delivered properly.
But Hikawa-san still had a neutral expression.
Why did a beautiful woman with glasses look so scary when she was expressionless?
If she was still angry, this could be a problem. I had to do something about it.
“I’m really sorry. Kozakai-san must have been busy and accidentally overlooked this. My name is Hirabayashi, and I’ve been transferred to the Shimizu office since yesterday.”
“Hirabayashi-san…”
“Yes, from now on, I’ll be working closely with Kozakai-san and make sure everything is in order. I’ll follow up with her so that there are no mistakes, and I’ll make sure to support her properly. Please continue to work with Kozakai-san going forward!”
I had heard that this company was one of Kozakai-san’s most important clients.
If they were to request a change of contact person, it would be a huge blow to Kozakai-san.
I was desperate to make sure that Kozakai-san didn’t get on Hikawa-san’s bad side.
So, I desperately asked Hikawa-san for her understanding.
Then, Hikawa-san said something very unexpected.
“Are you Kozakai-san’s superior, Hirabayashi-san?”
