Academy SP 〜An Ex-Mercenary Reincarnated as a Mob in a Gal Game. I Ditched My Bodyguard Job to Enjoy High School Life, but When the Ultra-Rich Heroines Were About to Get Killed, I Stepped In… and Somehow Built a Harem Powerful Enough to Control Japan〜 - Chapter 06
Chapter 06
After that, we headed to our classroom.
There were five classes in total, each with forty students.
That said, the hallways were dazzling—white, marble-like floors that gleamed under the lights, decorated in a distinctly Western style. There were even chandelier-like fixtures hanging from the ceiling.
I’d heard a bit about it from Wakita earlier—apparently, Yushu Girls’ Academy had originally been a Christian girls’ school, and traces of that past still remained.
“So this is our classroom, huh!”
Wakita looked around with deep emotion… and then—
“Man, it feels kinda old.”
Seeing his reaction, I couldn’t help but let out a small laugh.
Our Academy SP classroom was located in the old school building, so the facilities were definitely on the dated side.
Well, the place hadn’t been designed with male students in mind to begin with.
For what it was worth, there was a men’s restroom meant for visitors, so that part wasn’t a problem—though it was annoyingly far away.
“I checked the washroom earlier… and they even had squat toilets. This is the worst.”
Wakita dropped into his seat with a long sigh.
Looks like we’d ended up sitting next to each other.
“Well, at least the water actually flushes.”
Wakita came from a wealthy family, so things like that probably bothered him more than most.
From my perspective, though, the plumbing here was clean enough to be called perfect.
…Then again, after a life as a mercenary—where using a random patch of bushes was totally normal—maybe my standards for hygiene had just gotten a lot more forgiving.
“All right, looks like everyone’s seated.”
With that, a large man entered the classroom, lightly tapping a class roster against his shoulder as he walked in, then stepped up to the podium.
He looked to be in his forties. For a teacher at a refined girls’ school, he gave off a rather rough, no-nonsense vibe.
“From today on, I’ll be in charge of you for the next three years. Name’s Itabashi. Let’s get roll call out of the way.”
Ah—right. I remembered him now.
Itabashi-sensei.
If I recalled correctly, he was originally a part-time P.E. instructor who’d been hastily assigned as the teacher in charge of Academy SP.
Honestly, he probably wouldn’t have much to do with the main scenario going forward.
And the reason for that would soon become clear.
After finishing roll call, Itabashi slammed the roster down on the desk, gave a brief explanation of school life, and then got to the main point.
“Now then. From here on, you’ll be training both your bodies and your minds alongside your regular studies. In addition to daily P.E., we’ll be holding a one-hour class called ‘SP Studies’ every day. Make sure you take it seriously.”
Then, as if on purpose, he looked up toward the ceiling.
“From here on, this is just me talking to myself. But how you test the ‘results’ of this SP Studies course is entirely up to you. We teachers won’t take responsibility for it, and we won’t get involved either. Keep that in mind.”
We all understood what those meaningful words really meant.
To begin with, the very system known as Academy SP—created solely to protect the daughters of the Four Great Conglomerates—already went far beyond Japan’s normal education framework.
If anything happened, the school clearly didn’t want to take responsibility.
That was why they needed a justification—
A noble excuse where the students themselves willingly stepped up to protect the daughters of the conglomerates.
That way, at the very least, the damage to the school could be kept to a minimum.
A dirty—very adult—way of thinking.
“Got it? From here on out, everything’s on you. Do your best out there.”
You could call it a hands-off teaching policy.
Even so, the Academy SP students answered loudly in unison.
“““Yes!!”””
No matter how dangerous the assignment might be…
In Japanese society, the chance to get close to the daughters of the Four Great Conglomerates made any risk feel worth it.
Some of them were probably even aiming for marriage.
Normally, girls from conglomerate families were expected to enter political marriages with heirs of noble families or major corporations.
But lately, there had been more cases where free romance was allowed.
That was why some guys were fired up, thinking, We’ve got a chance too!
“And with that, we’re done for today. Classes start properly tomorrow. Don’t be late. Dismissed.”
After Itabashi left the classroom—
This time, a single student stepped up to the podium.
“I’m Toshi Yamashita—the heir to the Yamashita Fund Group!!”
Out of nowhere, a guy loudly introduced himself, casually throwing in his parents’ company name even though no one had asked.
He was around 180 centimeters tall, slim-built, but you could tell he had some muscle here and there.
“Now then—you all know why we’re here, right!? Don’t tell me you don’t! We enrolled in this academy to get close to the daughters of the Four Great Conglomerates!! Isn’t that right!?”
Fired up by Yamashita’s declaration, the students shouted back in unison.
“““Yeah!!”””
“If that’s the case, then there’s something we need to do first! And that’s dividing into factions!!”
With that, Yamashita quickly wrote the names of the four conglomerates across the blackboard.
“At this point, let’s drop the nice talk! We’re here because we want to think about our companies and our futures—and if possible, get on good terms with the daughters of the Four Great Conglomerates! That means these forty people here are all rivals. But each of us probably has one conglomerate we especially want to get close to, right?”
He clenched his fist and continued.
“I’m going to inherit my family’s fund group someday, so I absolutely want to build strong ties with the Hagoromo Conglomerate—the one that dominates Japan’s financial world with Hagoromo Bank, Hagoromo Insurance, and the rest!”
He took a breath.
“Sure, getting along with all four would be ideal—but everyone should have their own priorities! So why don’t we lay it all out now, talk things through honestly, and group up with people who want to protect the same conglomerate’s daughter? That way, we work together as her bodyguards—how does that sound!?”
Those words instantly won over every guy in the room.
From the start, you’d know exactly who your rivals were—and in theory, the numbers would be split evenly into four groups, which meant the competition would drop.
In other words, if you wanted to get close to the Hagoromo Conglomerate, all you had to do was focus on Sara Hagoromo.
And at worst…
You might even benefit from whatever leftovers came your way.
Yamashita’s idea was surprisingly logical.
—Yeah. I knew this event.
This was the so-called first branching point.
In game terms, this was where the choice popped up—
Which heroine route were you going to take?
Choose the Hagoromo Conglomerate, and you’d head down Sara Hagoromo’s route.
Choose the Aketo Conglomerate, and you’d move toward Ririko Aketo’s route.
