Right after we made that promise to go to the chiffon cake shop together again soon.

I’d just heard about it from Skuld-san a minute ago, so I pointed at the bandages wrapped all around my body and said thanks like that.

So yeah, unless it’s life-threatening, I try to let my injuries heal on their own like he said.”

“Yeah, he is. As an adventurer he’s top-class, and he’s always giving me super helpful advice like that. But uh… there’s actually another reason I don’t wanna heal today’s injury with magic…”

“Huh? There’s something besides your mentor’s advice? What is it?”

“Um, well… it’s kinda like… you went all out taking care of me, Alicia, and you even wrapped the bandages and everything. That just… makes me really happy, y’know? So I don’t really wanna rush and heal it with magic right away. Haha.”

I got a little embarrassed saying my real feelings out loud like that. My face might’ve turned a bit red.

“…Hehe, so that’s how it is. Hearing you say that makes me happy too. Then… can I ask you for one thing, Setsuna-sama? Since you’re planning to let this injury heal naturally… would you let me keep taking care of you from now on too?”

“Huh? You wanna keep nursing me, Alicia?”

“Yeah. You got hurt because you were protecting me, Setsuna-sama, so I really, really want to be the one who looks after you. Please? Can I?”

“W-well… I mean, if you’re the one taking care of me, I’d be super happy about that. So, uh… yeah, could I ask you to do it?”

“Yes, I got it. Then from now on, I’ll take care of you with all my heart, Setsuna-sama. And I’ll handle changing the bandages properly every single time too.”

“Yeah, thank you. Sorry to trouble you from here on out, but… please take care of me, Alicia.”

Alicia and I laughed together while we made that new promise. Man, having Alicia take care of me like this? That’s the best.

Chapter Extra 2: To My Mom in Heaven (Alicia’s Perspective)

A few days had passed since that whole mess.

After that, Dad and all the servants really chewed me out.

But honestly, it was totally deserved. I mean, it was all my fault anyway.

And they weren’t mad because they hated me or anything—they were just super worried about me.

So yeah, I seriously reflected on how much worry I caused everyone, and I swore to myself that I’d never let something like this happen again.

Then, about a week after everything calmed down…

“Mom… it’s been a while. How’ve you been?”

I came to the far end of the garden at the Elfemina family mansion. That’s where Mom’s grave is.

Ever since I finished rehab and could walk on my own, I’d been coming here from time to time. Obviously, it was to give Mom updates from heaven.

“I’m all better from my illness now, and rehab’s going really well too. Look, I can just walk right over to you like this! But… um, I kinda got cocky after I finally got to walk freely, and last week I ended up causing this huge incident. So, what happened was…”

Setsuna-sama is always saving me. Whenever I almost fell during rehab, he caught me right away. Whenever I got scared, he held my hand really tight. And let’s not forget—he’s the one who healed my injuries in the first place.

Setsuna-sama is just… always, always looking out for me. And also…

“And it’s not just that he’s cool—he’s the kindest boy I’ve ever met. Whenever I’m feeling down, Setsuna-sama stays right by my side. There was even a time he made me super sweet snacks just for me. He’s always so gentle and kind to me. So… I’ve actually been thinking this for a while now… hehe, Setsuna-sama and Mom are kinda similar, aren’t they?”

I told Mom something I’d been feeling for a long time.

The truth is, Setsuna-sama has this really warm, gentle vibe that reminds me so much of how Mom always used to be. Maybe that’s why I’ve always felt this nostalgic, super close feeling toward him.

But Setsuna-sama isn’t just a kind boy. He’s also incredibly strong, super cool, and just… amazing. To think there’s someone this wonderful out there…

My cheeks went a little pink as I looked up at the sky and said that. I’m sure Mom’s looking forward to meeting Setsuna-sama from up in heaven too.

I mean, asking him to come to Mom’s grave with me might feel a bit heavy… but I’ll find a good moment and invite him. I bet Setsuna-sama would never make a face like he hates the idea—he’d probably just come with me.

“…Alright then. I should head back to my room now. Today I’m gonna eat a proper meal and push hard with rehab too. I’ll make sure I can run around without a cane super soon, so please keep watching over me from heaven, Mom. Hehe… see you later, Mom.”

I said goodbye to Mom and left the grave. Saying goodbye to her always made me feel a little sad… but right now my heart felt so bright and full. Because now I had a new dream: introducing Setsuna-sama to Mom.
