Chapter 79: A Date with My Little Sister
On the morning of the day, I’m hit with all sorts of anxieties. I couldn’t suggest anything for my outing—date, rather—with Yuki, and my heart’s still restless.
I prepared a small gift, but I don’t know if she’ll like it. How should I act when we meet this morning? That’s unclear too.
Maybe I’m overthinking. I’ve never celebrated a family member’s birthday, let alone a cute girl’s, so my nerves won’t calm down.
No perfect choice appears. Clutching my unease, I head to the breakfast table.
In the living room, Yuki runs up to me happily. She doesn’t hug me but flashes a cute smile.
“Morning, Shun-nii! Let’s make today great!”
She’s even brighter than usual, her flawless skin glowing. Yet I can only mumble, “Y-Yeah…”
“So, where are you going today? You mentioned wanting to see the night view the other day,” Mom asks Yuki during breakfast. I haven’t said anything, so I don’t know what Yuki decided.
The night view plan is news to me. Yuki answers.
“Yup! That’s the plan. We’ll come home first, change, then head out. I’m thinking the Sky Tower observatory.”
Sky Tower’s a big radio tower in the prefecture, about 30 minutes by train. It has shops below and an observatory above, like spots in my old world.
“Shun-nii hasn’t been there, so I wanted to go together. And maybe see the night view. I could wear my uniform, but I wanna dress up.”
A night observatory date—a couple’s classic. Unlike daytime amusement parks or zoos, it’s a hotspot for popular kids.
She calls going with me a date and picks a romantic spot. I’m grateful. She even considered I’ve never been.
“So don’t rush home, Shun-nii. Tomorrow’s off too, so let’s take it slow.”
I couldn’t find a better plan than hers. At least, I can hurry home to not keep her waiting.
“Fufu, have fun, you two! Contact me if you’re late, and don’t walk outside at midnight, okay?” Mom says, assuming we’re a couple despite being siblings. I told her about my feelings for Yuki before, but her mention of midnight makes my heart race.
“If anything happens, I’ll come get you…” Yukari-san adds, blushing slightly. Since I shared my feelings for Yuki with her too, she might guess my heart.
But I don’t know how the date will go, so what happens after is unpredictable. My job is to not hurt Yuki and ensure she smiles.
“It’s Yuki-chan’s birthday today, right? I’ll send her a message later,” Asagi-san says during lunch at school when I mention going straight home. This exchange feels far from my old world’s norms.
“It’s up to you two, but if you’re having fun, Yuki-chan will too. So don’t overthink,” Asagi-san says, smiling despite me going on a date with another girl. I look away, embarrassed.
“Y-Yeah… Yuki-chan definitely wants you to be happy, so don’t feel bad about us. Just enjoy it…” Maki-san adds, easing my anxiety.
I know it’s scummy to lean on their kindness, but I can’t deny their words.
“Exactly, Shun-kun. Being close with Yuki-chan, like you talked about, is super happy, right? It fills your heart… fufu,” Asagi-san says.
Yes, I love Yuki—as a sister and a girl.
That’s why I’m burdening these cute lovers with worry. I’m not worthy of their care.
After classes, I say goodbye to them and hurry home. It’s been a while since I walked alone, but not wanting to keep Yuki waiting leaves no room for loneliness.
“Shun-nii!” Yuki’s already home, on the sofa. Middle school ends earlier, but not by much.
“You really came straight back… ehehe, I’m happy!” she says. She might’ve rushed for me. I should’ve changed first to wait for her.
“Okay, I’m gonna change! Take your time, Shun-nii!” She skips upstairs.
Despite her words, I rush to change. I didn’t know we’d wear casual clothes until morning, so I pick my usual shirt and chinos.
The clothes, likely bought by Mom or Yukari-san, are mostly long-sleeved and long-panted but safe and easy to wear. For fashionless me, that’s a blessing.
Thankful, I calm myself and head downstairs. Yuki’s already in the living room, bag ready. Did she pick her outfit yesterday? The thought makes me happy, a bit arrogantly.
“I splurged on a new outfit. Does it suit me?” she asks.
Her pink top shows her shoulders, dazzlingly, and her white long skirt is elegant.
“Y-Yeah, it really suits you, k-…” I start to say “cute” but hesitate. Only cool guys can call girls cute and be appreciated.
But Yuki’s undeniably cuter than usual. I want to tell her, and she wouldn’t find me creepy.
“I-I think you’re cute…” I say, assuming she wants to be treated like a lover, as she once said. In my old world, I’d be told I’m not worthy.
“Ehehe, thanks!” Her toothy smile is free of malice or pretense. She naturally takes my hand, urging us to go.
Yukari-san sees us off. Yuki says, “Thanks, Yukari-neechan,” bowing slightly.
“I’m spending today with Shun-nii, but next time, I want you to date him too,” Yuki says.
Yukari-san stammers, “Eh, th-that’s…” flustered. But Yuki smiles and continues.
“You became lovers with Shun-nii, but haven’t talked much since, right? So when you’re both okay, I want you to get closer.”
It’s Yuki’s kindness, but I don’t know how to react. I should apologize to Yukari-san and invite her myself.
I’m just scared of bothering her.
“Uuu… when Yuki-sama says that, I might get greedy…” Yukari-san says, blushing and looking down, but she gives us firm words.
“But today’s Yuki-sama’s birthday, so you two enjoy it! Have fun…!”
Yuki laughs, “Yup, we will!” I manage a nod to Yukari-san.
“Shun-nii, can we hold hands?” Yuki asks on the way to the station, looking slightly worried. She doesn’t need to ask.
“Y-Yeah, if I’m okay…” I reply awkwardly.
She giggles, “Fufu, I’m asking you, Shun-nii,” and takes my left hand tightly. Her small, warm hand’s firm grip shows it’s not pity.
“Okay, let’s go!” She points to the station with her free hand, and we walk slowly, hand in hand.
Sky Tower’s seven stations away. It’s after school, so the train’s fairly crowded.
Holding the strap, we’re close enough to talk, looking like a couple. I feel women’s glances, maybe judging us.
“It’s getting dark just right,” Yuki says as we near. It’s post-5 PM, “Flower Friday,” with that vibe.
The platform’s busy, fitting a popular spot. Men are rare at this hour, except for elderly couples.
“Let’s go, Shun-nii?” Yuki says at the gate, the tower looming. She reaches out again.
I take her hand nervously, and she smiles shyly, intertwining our fingers.
“Ehehe… wanna check out shops first? It’s a bit early for the night view.”
Like close siblings or lovers, we follow the crowd.
“By the way, Asagi-san said you got matching mugs with her?” Yuki asks while we walk hand in hand in the tower’s mall.
“Y-Yeah, we decided to buy them together…”
She sees them at home, but her silence until now feels a bit scary.
“Hearing that, I got a little jealous… sorry?” she says.
She doesn’t need to apologize, and I have no complaints. I’m the one at fault for not doing more despite her wanting to be treated like a lover.
“So, if you don’t mind, I wanna get something matching too. I’d love to pick it with you…”
I reply, “O-Of course, that’s fine!” I can’t say no when she wants that.
“Thanks! Let’s look together?” Her happy smile reassures me my words weren’t wrong. I’m always searching for the right response.
She pulls me to a big shop. Unsteady, I try to answer as she points at items.
“Hmm, maybe a keychain’s too cliché… but something for home…” she muses seriously.
I can only watch. If I had better taste, I’d help, but I’m not, so I leave it to her.
“Shun-nii, I’m thinking of putting this keychain on my bag…” She shows a small bear-shaped one. It’s subtle for a high school guy, but I’m unsure if it suits me.
“It’s small, so it won’t stand out on your bag. I’d be happy if you used it… but if you don’t like it, something else is fine…”
I almost ask if she’s okay matching with me. In my old world, I’d feel bad if a girl had the same pen as me.
But now, Yuki wants to match with me. That’s truly joyful, not pity.
“I-I think it’s good…” I say, voice high. She smiles softly.
“Ehehe, I’ll buy it!” She heads to the register, but I try to stop her, “W-Wait, I’ll pay!”
“No, it’s my selfish wish. Let me buy it,” she says, telling me to wait outside. A brother letting his sister pay feels like trash, but I can’t pull out my wallet after that.
At a bench outside, Yuki shows two identical keychains, leaning on me with an upward glance.
“Ehehe, should I put it on this bag or my school one? I’m torn.”
Her softness and sweet scent hit me as I lend my shoulder. Her bare shoulders and slight glimpse of her chest are exposed.
“…You really don’t mind me acting like this. Makes me wanna cling more.”
Rubbing my thigh over my pants like a playful kitten, she’s adorable and almost erotic.
“Y-Yeah, if you want, I’m okay with anything…” I say, looking away, my words creepy. But she cheers, “Yay!”
“Can I… link arms too?” she asks.
“Y-Yes!” I reply. Without laughing, she stands, clinging to my arm.
“Tell me if it’s hard to walk, okay?”
It doesn’t hinder movement, but we’re closer, her body touching mine. Her modest but definite breasts press against my arm.
My kind, beautiful sister’s growing curves are unavoidable. Despite my rising lust, she walks the mall happily.
After some browsing, we head to the observatory via a direct elevator from the third floor.
Yuki prepared QR code tickets on her phone, so I can’t pay. “I’ve got your share, Shun-nii!” she said.
Many people line up, but multiple elevators mean a short wait. It’s not packed, so the ride up is comfortable.
“…I’m gonna lean a bit, okay?” Yuki says, slightly hesitant with others near, but stays close. A nearby woman glances but looks away.
Maybe we look mismatched, or I seem creepy, making her uncomfortable.
Amid such anxieties, the arrival announcement sounds. The doors open, and we flow toward the view.
