Chapter 60: A Sudden Proposal for Us
“Welcome home, Shun-nii!” Yuki runs to me happily, as always—a lavish welcome.
She must’ve just returned, still in her uniform blouse. Her white bra shows clearly, outlining her developing chest.
Yet, as usual, she doesn’t care, approaching me unguarded. Her cute, youthful face clashes with the eroticism of her visible underwear, stirring my heart.
I’ve gotten better at talking to Yuki and looking at her face, but I’m still a terrible brother who can’t stop seeing her sexually.
“…Shun-nii, what’s wrong? You’re spacing out,” Yuki says, peering at me curiously. Her big eyes, soft cheeks, and small lips come close, making my heart jump.
I can’t say I was staring at her bra. She’d hate a brother like that. Searching for an excuse, I mention the bookstore incident with Yukari-san, a half-truth.
It stings, but it’s not a complete lie. I was genuinely worried about Yukari-san’s feelings. Plus, I can’t hide this from Yuki.
I recount the bookstore encounter and express my concern about Yukari-san’s reaction. Yuki frowns slightly.
“I told Yukari-san about your girlfriend before the holiday, but it was their first time meeting. I only mentioned Asagi-san then… She might be worried…”
Yuki seems troubled, but I don’t grasp why. Is it because I’m dating two girls? As our housekeeper, she might be concerned for my safety, but nothing more.
Fifteen minutes later, a loud thud echoes from the entrance. At this hour, it’s Yukari-san. Unusually, her slippers clatter loudly as she hurries in.
She rushes into the living room, locks eyes with me, and bows deeply.
“…Shun-sama! I… I spoke out of turn earlier… I’m so sorry…!”
After her quick apology, she slowly raises her head. I’m clueless about why she’s apologizing.
She explains, “…I sounded like I was judging them… I didn’t mean it that way, just spoke my feelings…”
“I didn’t realize while talking, but it was rude… I worried I made you uncomfortable, Shun-sama…”
That’s why she hurried back. But I didn’t find it out of turn. Her respect for us came through clearly.
She might think her respect offends us, a thought so like my own. But it doesn’t suit her at all.
“N-No, I wasn’t uncomfortable… I was happy. Dating two girls could’ve gotten me scolded, but you kindly accepted it… They weren’t upset either…”
My silence earlier worried her needlessly. Feeling pathetic, I try to reassure her. My lack of words keeps hurting those around me.
Yukari-san looks surprised, then responds hurriedly, “N-No, you dating two girls isn’t a problem… Making two girls happy, you’re so cool—uh, I mean, kind… Don’t worry about it…”
“The problem was my presumptuous actions… Acting like a guardian when I’m just a housekeeper…”
As she blames herself, Yuki steps in.
“Yukari-san, Mom and I don’t see you as just a housekeeper… Like I said before, you’re family. So don’t say that…”
“I get worrying about Shun-nii… He’s too kind to girls, putting himself last… That’s why he’s popular…”
“Above all, Shun-nii wouldn’t feel uncomfortable with you. He doesn’t see you as a stranger… Right?”
Yuki’s gaze makes me feel pathetic for relying on her, but I speak honestly to Yukari-san.
“…I always feel grateful for you, Yukari-san… I don’t know if it’s the right way to say it, but… like an older sister…”
It’s a convenient thought. She’s our housekeeper, and being seen this way might be a bother.
But Yuki always calls her like a sister. She chimes in, “Exactly! I want to call her big sis!” agreeing with me, except for the popular part.
Yukari-san listens quietly, looks up, and meets our eyes. Her eyes seem teary.
“…sniff, I’m… so happy… T-Thank you…!”
As she holds back tears, I panic, but Yuki looks thrilled.
“Then can I call you big sis, Yukari-san?” Yuki asks brightly.
Yukari-san nods repeatedly, clearly moved despite holding back tears.
“O-Of course… If Yuki-sama’s okay with it…!”
Yuki smiles, “Thank you, Yukari-neechan!” closing the distance. She’s always seen her as a sister, so this must be joyful.
“…Thank you, really…!” Yukari-san says, blushing slightly, genuinely grateful.
Being called “Shun-nii” by Yuki felt special at first, thrilling me. Being called so affectionately by her is meaningful. As I imagine Yukari-san’s feelings, Yuki turns to me.
“Come on, Shun-nii, call her that too!”
Her proposal is hard to accept. Yukari-san might be happy being called big sis by a cute girl like Yuki, but not by me.
Yukari-san freezes at the suggestion. She doesn’t outright refuse, but she must feel as I do. Even as a housekeeper, she shouldn’t have to tolerate that.
“Yukari-neechan would be happy if you called her that, Shun-nii. Just once, okay?” Yuki pushes me.
Since Yuki insists, maybe Yukari-san would forgive one try. I can’t refuse Yuki’s request anyway.
Hesitantly, I choose short words.
“…Yukari-neechan.”
It feels wrong—calling someone so familiarly is unfamiliar. It’s not about seeing Yukari-san as a sister.
She’s like one. In my old world, I had a sister, but her beauty meant we barely spoke, living in different worlds. Yukari-san’s sisterly actions make me want to rely on and cling to her. But being called big sis by me can’t be pleasant. I look at her.
She’s frozen, hand over mouth, trembling, eyes teary. Yuki asks, “A-Are you okay?” slipping back to polite speech.
“…Ah! S-Sorry, I was just… shocked, or… um, what to say…” Yukari-san stammers, not sounding disgusted.
I can’t grasp her true feelings. Beside me, Yuki mutters, “…If I were older…” leaving me puzzled.
Yuki decides, “Shun-nii calling you that… might be too intense,” so I stick to Yukari-san. She apologizes, “Sorry for asking, Shun-nii,” but I’m not upset.
“Shun-sama, I’m sorry for… acting unseemly…” Yukari-san says, dejected.
Her actions aren’t unseemly. I’m more worried she didn’t mind me calling her that.
“Lately, you’ve called me by name, but… you don’t have to force it. You can go back to not talking to me…” she adds.
She said that when we met. I realize how arrogant I’ve been.
“I-I want to keep calling you Yukari-san…” I say.
It’s a small but lavish request. She might even dislike being called by her first name.
“…! T-Thank you… Just being called by my name is… so kind…” she murmurs, looking down.
Unsure how to react, I let Yuki’s support carry me.
“Speaking of, it’s time to cook, right? Can I help?” Yuki says, closing the distance again.
Yukari-san, who’d normally decline, agrees, “Y-Yes… I’ll take you up on that…” Maybe facing me is awkward.
She might want to stay close to Yuki, who’s built a new bond by calling her big sis. I conclude this, thank Yukari-san, and bow slightly.
She blushes, saying, “N-No, thank you…” before heading to the kitchen with Yuki.
At dinner, the four of us—Mom included—enjoy a delicious meal. When Yuki uses “neechan,” Mom says, “Maybe I’ll call you Yukari-chan too,” making Yukari-san blush shyly.
The usual warm dining table, but Yukari-san seems tense, conversing cautiously.
I think it’s my imagination, but near the meal’s end, Yuki speaks to me with a sudden proposal.
“Hey, Shun-nii? Yesterday, you said you’ve never been to that theme park, right? I was talking with Yukari-neechan, and I had an idea…”
“What if you and Yukari-neechan went together? I’d love to go, but since we went as three before, I thought this could be a return favor.”
It’s too sudden, shaking my heart. I’m not used to such places, don’t know how to enjoy them, and above all, it’s no benefit to Yukari-san. Going alone with me can’t be fun.
Asagi-san, Maki-san, and Yuki say they enjoy being with me. That’s partly flattery, but our similar ages help. With Yukari-san’s age gap, I’d just burden her.
Feeling sorry and confused about why this came up, I see Yukari-san watching me worriedly. It doesn’t seem forced, and Yuki wouldn’t mistreat her.
As thoughts swirl, Mom speaks gently.
“Yuki brought it up suddenly, and it surprised me… But maybe it’s a chance to talk properly. I’d love to go too, but if Yuki suggests it, maybe you two should go.”
Mom once told me to talk more with Yukari-san. I never imagined it would take this form.
Yukari-san speaks apologetically.
“Um… If Shun-sama doesn’t want to go just with me… please say so, it’s fine…”
There’s no way I’d dislike it. Going out alone with a beautiful, kind woman is, normally, a joyful thing. But I’m anxious.
“…If Yukari-san’s okay with it… I don’t mind at all… What do you think?”
My timid words, passing the decision to her, make Yukari-san blush as she responds.
“I-I don’t mind at all! When Yuki-sama suggested it, I thought you might dislike it… S-Sorry!”
Her final apology is likely for Yuki, who looks delighted.
“Mom, looks like it worked out?” Yuki says.
“Fufu, yes… It’s making me a bit excited too. Shall we set a date?” Mom replies.
With rain forecast this weekend, we settle on next Saturday. Mom plans a full day with Yukari-san driving us. Yukari-san and I can only watch as she takes charge.
After dinner, Yukari-san heads home as usual. She meets my eyes and bows, deeper than usual.
After Yukari-san leaves, Mom talks to me in the living room.
“Thank you, Shun-kun, for agreeing to our request. I don’t want her to hold back… Maybe it’s a parental thing. Of course, your and Yuki’s feelings matter too.”
“It might not be normal for a mother to let her son go out with the housekeeper… But you go out with Asagi-chan and Maki-chan, so it’d be odd to say no to Yukari-chan.”
“I trust her… And you seem to see her in different ways. Because you’re like that, she might be thinking a lot too…”
My phone has GPS, but Mom seems unconcerned about safety. I feel the same. Kidnapping for ransom? Yukari-san would never. I’m the one who should do something for her, since she melts my heart. She probably doesn’t want that, though.
“…Anyway, it’s a bit away, so if you have any thoughts, tell me anytime,” Mom concludes, leaving for her room.
Yuki and I walk upstairs, parting at our rooms. She says, “…Thanks for agreeing to my selfish request.”
Yuki might’ve felt conflicted, wanting to spend time with me but caring for Yukari-san. Her kindness touches me.
“…Sorry, Yuki, for making you worry… I’m not doing enough…”
“No, Shun-nii, you don’t need to worry. I could be more selfish too.”
She looks up at me, cheeks flushed, then lightly kisses my cheek, saying playfully, “…I’m a bit selfish too.”
Smiling, she returns to her room. Lately, she kisses my cheek every night before bed. It’s light, but my heart never gets used to it.
The next morning, Yukari-san seems awkward. Her work is as usual, but she mutters, “Sorry, sorry…” while serving my food, making me uneasy.
Mom says, “Don’t be too nervous,” calming her slightly, but she avoids my gaze.
With some unease, I leave with Yuki, gym clothes and jersey in hand, prepared.
“Shun-nii, PE’s co-ed now, right? It’s up to you, but if something bothers you, you have to say so,” Yuki says.
Would anything happen in PE? I’m more worried about being accused of harassment.
I’m used to this world’s norms, but physical contact with girls is hard to adjust to. My shy, virgin mindset is too ingrained.
The morning passes quickly, likely because Yuki’s words made me overthink PE. At lunch, I ask Asagi-san and Maki-san how to act.
They might find it odd I lack middle school memories, but they answer without prying.
Asagi-san says, “Hmm, I’ve never paired with a boy… Stretching, like pushing backs, should be the same. I should’ve asked a senpai.”
Maki-san murmurs, “I haven’t either… But boys usually only touch for the minimum time…”
I ask my biggest concern. “If I push someone’s back… won’t I be called out for harassment? Or screamed at?”
They look surprised, exchange glances, and Asagi-san smiles slightly.
“Girls accusing boys of harassment? The reverse happens more, but you don’t need to worry. It’s just PE.”
Maki-san adds, “But… if you touch a girl’s back for long, she might scream from excitement… You seem fine touching girls for long…”
Asagi-san agrees, “Yeah, maybe!” But I can’t believe any girl, let alone me, would be happy being touched by a stranger. Their kindness makes them unrealistic.
Even in this reversed world, I don’t get cheat-like harem scenarios. I must know my place.
Thanking them for the info, I return to class early, grab my clothes, and head out. Girls change in the classroom, boys in a separate locker room.
I’ve thought about staying to see girls change, since this world might not mind. But I lack the courage. When I return from PE, I take a deep breath to feel the girls’ air—that’s all I can do.
Other boys are in the locker room early, the air heavy. They’re tense in a different way, awaiting the start.
When the fifth-period bell rings, we leave for the gym. Like others, I wear a slightly oversized red jersey, our grade’s color.
In the gym, girls are scattered, half in jerseys, half in gym clothes. Those in shorts show off bare legs, making my gaze wander.
Some girls glance at us, others stare. No one speaks. In my old world, it’d be like boys eyeing girls at a pool class.
I need to grasp this world’s norms better. As we enter, the PE teacher emerges from the prep room.
