ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
By the time Sierra and the others had mostly finished cleaning up, Balg and the others returned from the riverbank. Nerva, who had said she had something to talk about, was with them as well. They had apparently talked for quite a long time, and Balg looked somewhat tired for some reason.
“Balg-san, thank you very much.”
“Ah, yeah. Then take care of putting these away too.”
Balg handed the freshly washed dishes to Sierra, who came jogging over to him. Sierra accepted them with a bright smile, but then suddenly blinked in surprise.
“What’s wrong, Sierra?”
“Well, um… Nerva, don’t you think you’re a bit too close…?”
Sierra tilted her head as she looked at Nerva standing beside Balg. The wary attitude Nerva had been openly showing earlier now seemed to have softened somewhat. More than that, she even gave the impression of being friendly toward Balg. But when that was pointed out, Nerva hastily stepped away from Balg and shook her head vigorously.
“T-That’s not true!”
“Is that so? Well, if you two are getting along better, I’m all for it.”
Sierra also knew that Nerva had been harboring distrust toward Balg. If their discussion at the riverbank had brought them closer, that was something to be happy about. In reality, rather than merely getting closer, they had been overlapping at zero distance, but there was no way for her to know that.
“Alright then, Nerva, shall we start our night training?”
It was part of Sierra and the others’ daily routine to do some light exercise after dinner. Nerva acted as their instructor, and not only Sierra but also Patema, Fana as well. The front-guard and the rear-guard would be training together, learning basic unarmed combat techniques. Situations requiring close-quarters combat were rare in an adventurer’s work, but they had their reasons for continuing.
“Y-Yeah. Self-defense is important, after all.”
Aurora Blade was a four-person adventurer party. And all four of them were strikingly beautiful women. Because of that, many men cast rude looks their way, and some even resorted to force. It was best if the strong Nerva could protect them, but it certainly wouldn’t hurt for the other three to have means of defending themselves as well. That was why they practiced simple self-defense as a form of post-meal exercise.
“Well then, I’ll go take care of my weapons or—”
“Wait!”
As Balg busily tried to leave the area, Nerva called out to him. The large man flinched and turned around, and Nerva fidgeted as she spoke.
“This kind of thing is more practical if there’s a villain role, you see. Starting today, Balg, you’ll participate too.”
“Villain role… Yeah, I guess I’m well suited for that.”
Aware of his own villainous-looking face, Balg found no reason to refuse and was pulled in.
“Hm. Nerva, you really have gotten a lot closer to him.”
“Ufufu. Isn’t that a good thing?”
Seeing how different her big-sister-like companion’s attitude was, Sierra tilted her head. Fana gently chided her with a composed smile.
“Mmm… Balg is just a bit manly. It’s not like he’s actually a bad person.”
Among them, only Patema seemed somewhat dissatisfied with the role Balg had been assigned.
“Alright, I’ll demonstrate first. Today’s lesson is how to deal with being grabbed from behind.”
The disarray from earlier had completely vanished, and Nerva, now wearing the dignified expression of a serious warrior, immediately began. Balg stood beside her, looking a bit out of place. Up until now, the training had mostly been about checking basic movements, but with Balg joining them, it seemed they were now assuming more realistic situations.
“Balg, grab me from behind.”
“O-Okay.”
Even Balg understood that the request to grab her meant exactly that. Still, the recent intimacy remained vivid in his mind, and it was only natural that tension made his movements stiff.
“Gheheh! You’ve got a nice body, miss!”
Even so, he did his best to fulfill his role as the villain. Without being told to, he ad-libbed a fitting line and lunged at Nerva’s back with force. His villainous face, impressive build, and deep, practiced voice combined to make the act strangely realistic.
Balg’s thick arms wrapped around Nerva’s shoulders and moved further forward, pressing tightly against her chest. It was a deep embrace, his broad chest pressed firmly against her back. Moreover, his mouth happened to be right near the ears atop Nerva’s head, ears that marked her as a beastkin. His breath brushed against them.
“Ahf!~♡”
“Whoa!? Nerva, are you alright!?”
Letting out an unexpectedly sultry sound, Nerva collapsed to her knees. The unforeseen development shocked not only Balg but also Sierra and the others watching nearby. Still seated as though her legs had given out, Nerva glared up at Balg with teary eyes.
“Y-You idiot! Just grabbing my shoulders is enough!”
“Oh—ah, is that so? Sorry…”
Apparently, this wasn’t how Nerva had imagined it going. Balg drooped in disappointment. Nerva, for her part, was desperately trying to calm her heart, which was pounding at high speed.
What is with him? Is he already trying to seduce me here? Trying to show Sierra and the others that I’ve become his female? W-Well, I wouldn’t mind that either, but I still want to keep it a secret from the others for now…!
As she was thinking that, she met Sierra’s curious gaze.
“Ahem! I-I was just surprised. Let’s reset and try again.”
Aware of the heat in her face, she hurriedly stood up. She focused her strength at the base of her tail, restraining herself from instinctively wagging it. Her mutual feelings with Balg must not be discovered by the other members. Nerva renewed her resolve. They had intertwined so intensely, and in the end he had made her submit in a humiliating position, finishing inside her. She had no doubt whatsoever that Balg felt the same way about her.
“Balg, once more.”
“O-Oh. Gehyahyaa!”
With a crude, forceful shout, the man rushed forward again. Just sensing his presence almost made warmth gather between her legs, but Nerva endured it and shifted her focus back to that of a warrior. Balg’s hands landed on her solid shoulders. In that instant, she twisted her body and grabbed his arm, winding her own around it and pinning it with her chest. With a soft squish, the only soft fruit on her body flexibly changed shape.
“Whoa!?”
The man froze for a moment. Seizing that opening, Nerva slammed him to the ground.
“Sei!”
Once she pinned both of his shoulders while he lay on his back, he could no longer even get up. After that, she could do whatever she liked—cook him or roast him—and escape while he writhed.
“Ohhh, that’s amazing, Nerva…”
As for Balg, who had been thrown down in an instant, there was no frustration on his face. There was only pure admiration for Nerva’s skill. Sierra and the others watching were equally awestruck by her graceful control.
“Hmph. Even with this much difference in size, if you catch them off guard, this is doable.”
“Indeed. But…”
“Huh? Whoa!?”
Balg shifted slightly. By the time Nerva noticed, her vision flipped, and she was quickly slammed to the ground. A heavy pressure bore down on her abdomen. Looking up, she saw Balg straddling her, her arms forced up and pinned to the ground, leaving her completely exposed.
Nearby, Sierra covered her eyes with her hands yet peeked through the gaps to watch intently.
“H-Huh…?”
In an instant, their positions were reversed. Nerva, who had been overwhelmingly dominant, was now pinned down and unable to move. Balg, meanwhile, sat upright on top of her with composure.
“No matter how much self-defense you know, strength and size matter. After taking someone down, you need to disengage immediately, or this happens.”
“Ah… Ugh…”
With a grunt, Balg stood up while Nerva bit her lip in frustration.
“You… You know unarmed combat too?”
“Well, it’s just something I picked up back in the day.”
Balg gave a wry smile and scratched his head in response to Nerva’s sulky accusation. But it was obvious to everyone that he was being modest. Sierra and the others knew Nerva’s strength well. No ordinary man could best her. And the way Balg had reversed the situation was far too smooth and practiced.
“Damn it… I can’t beat you even in this?”
Nerva clenched her fist tightly. Yet despite her words… Her lips had loosened slightly, her eyes glimmered with joy, and her inner thighs rubbed together.
“H-Here! Next, it’s my turn!”
That subtle change in Nerva went unnoticed by everyone. Instead, Sierra energetically raised her hand, eager to practice next.
“So I’m attacking again?”
“Yes, please. It feels more realistic when it’s a man.”
“I see…”
Said plainly by the oddly excited-looking Sierra, Balg drooped a little. Still, this was one of the rare times his villainous face came in handy. He would make sure they learned properly.
“Uoooo!”
“Kyaa!”
“Huh—whoa!?”
Resolving himself, Balg placed his hands on Sierra’s slender shoulders. But immediately after, Sierra unexpectedly flinched. The two lost their balance and fell together. Instinctively, Balg positioned himself underneath to catch her, holding her thin body as a simple thought crossed his mind, that she felt like a delicate glass ornament.
“Are you alright?”
“That was quite a fall.”
Startled by the loud crash, Nerva and the others rushed over.
“I-I’m fine…”
What they saw was an innocent young girl frozen stiff, her face bright red to the tips of her ears, held tightly in thick, powerful arms. Her head rested neatly against the man’s chest, her shoulders drawn in.
“At least it doesn’t look like anyone’s hurt.”
Fana said with relief as she prepared holy magic. Sierra rose from atop Balg with a slightly reluctant expression, nodding repeatedly in agreement.
