Chapter 07: Is Going Outside Dangerous for a Villain Reincarnate?! (Not Really)
That said, since I was drenched in sweat from scrubbing the floors, I decided to take a shower in my room before talking to Kyoko.
Yes, you read that right—my room has its own shower.
Honestly, with how equipped this place is, I don’t even need to leave my room, let alone the mansion.
Still, I didn’t want to risk anyone telling me I smell bad, so I made sure to thoroughly wash my hair and body.
Even the shampoo here looks expensive. It smells really nice, too.
The floral scent makes me think it’s probably the kind of shampoo women would prefer, but hey, it’s not like I mind!
After rinsing off with warm water, I dried myself off completely and stepped out of the shower.
“Ahh, that feels great!”
Showers after exercising really hit the spot. It’s refreshing, and honestly, I’ve been getting addicted to this feeling lately.
That aside… it’s clear Reito’s living situation is pretty luxurious.
He’s rich, lives in a massive mansion, has plenty of maids around, enjoys amazing food, and even has a personal maid like Kyoko, who’s both beautiful and highly capable.
With a life where everything bends to his will, it’s no wonder the original Reito became so spoiled over time.
“Yeah, it must’ve been this privileged lifestyle that made the old Reito so selfish…”
It’s easy to see how someone with such a convenient life could naturally start feeling entitled or overly confident.
But still, doing things that bother or trouble others is definitely not okay!
If you do, you’ll end up hated, just like the original Reito… a proper “villain.”
That said, Reito seems to be treated with a surprising amount of care and affection.
That thought crossed my mind as I recalled something that happened yesterday.
It was the first time I met Reito’s mother.
She had long black hair, wore a sharp suit, and gave off the vibe of a high-powered career woman.
But despite her professional aura, she didn’t feel intimidating at all—actually, she seemed easy to talk to. Oh, and she was absolutely stunning!
Apparently, Reito’s mother is usually traveling all over the country for work.
But when she heard from Kyoko that Reito—that is, me— had woken up, she rearranged her schedule and rushed home to see me.
“R-Rei-kun! I’m so glad you woke up safelyyyyyyyyyyy~!!”
The moment she entered my room and saw me, she burst into tears.
For someone labeled a “villain,” Reito is clearly cherished. Well, as an only son, it makes sense that his mother would be so protective of him.
“Sob… hic… Rei-kun…”
Still, she showed no signs of stopping her crying anytime soon.
I started to get a little worried, so I gently called out, “Mom…?”
When I did…
“R-Rei-kun just called me ‘Mom’!?”
She looked even more shocked than before… and then started crying even harder.
Seriously, Reito?
Even if you didn’t go as far as harassing your own mom…
You were cold to the only family member you have?
Not even a shred of gratitude for the mother who works so hard to give you this ridiculously luxurious life?
That’s pretty low.
Ah, well, I guess that’s why you’re the “villain,” huh?
Afterward, Kyoko helped calm her down and took the time to explain the situation so far.
Oh, and for now, I had her keep the whole “me scrubbing floors and working out” thing a secret.
Reito’s mom seemed pretty shaken about my “memory issues”… or more accurately, my amnesia.
But in the end, she wiped her tears, took a deep breath, and said,
“Well, Mom will just work even harder for Rei-kun!”
By the time she left, her face looked more determined, almost like she’d had a breakthrough. She even seemed a little brighter—so that’s good.
Still, overall… I couldn’t help but notice how overprotective Reito’s mom is.
Just as I was thinking about all that, I heard a knock at the door, pulling me back to the present.
It’s probably Kyoko.
“Come in!”
“Excuse me, Young Master.”
As expected, Kyoko entered the room after a polite bow.
As always, she was poised and composed.
Now then, I had something important to tell Kyoko.
Better get straight to the point.
“Kyoko, I have something I’d like to say.”
“Yes, what is it, Young Master?”
“I want to go outside.”
“Yes. That’s not allowed.”
“Ah, thank you—wait, huh?”
That wasn’t the response I was expecting…
Maybe I should try again.
“Ahem… Kyoko, I’d like to go outside.”
“Yes, I heard you, Young Master. And it’s not allowed.”
“…What?”
I couldn’t help but stare at Kyoko’s face. She didn’t even flinch.
In fact, she looked completely calm as she spoke again.
“Let me repeat myself. Going outside is not allowed.”
“I can hear you just fine! But, what? Why not!?”
Unlike the old Reito, I haven’t harassed anyone or acted unpleasantly even once over the past week.
Sure, I’ve been working on improving myself and raising favorability, but I’ve been acting like a normal, reasonable person—nothing weird or out of line.
I haven’t triggered any landmines or done anything remotely questionable.
If this were like one of those villain reincarnation stories I used to read in my past life, this is the part where they’d say:
“Young Master, you’ve truly changed!”
The favorability would start ticking up, and everything I do would smoothly fall into place.
But…
What’s going on here? I just got completely shut down!
“It’s dangerous for the current you to go outside, Young Master.”
“D-Dangerous!? Are you saying… my life is at risk?”
“…In the worst-case scenario, that could happen.”
“What!?”
How could just stepping outside put my life in danger!?
This isn’t some fantasy world with swords, magic, and dragons. It’s supposed to be a modern rom-com setting!
A life-threatening event shouldn’t even be on the table… right?
While my mind spun in confusion, a thought crossed my mind.
I always assumed I was just a “villain” in the eyes of Kyoko and the maids here in the mansion.
But… could it be that there are people outside who hate me too?
If that’s the case, then yeah, I can see how going outside might carry some real risks.
Does that mean… I’ve reincarnated as a villain so hated that it’s this bad!?

(Kyoko’s Perspective)
Lately… the young master has been acting strange.
It’s no longer just a matter of “fuzzy memories.”
Out of nowhere, he started scrubbing the floors, working out in the training room… There’s a lot I could say about all of it.
But the most concerning part is… the young master seems to have lost his sense of danger.
In this world, men are incredibly rare and highly valued, which has led many women to be very forward, almost predatory, in their approach toward men.
It’s all about who can claim a man first.
The extreme cases—the ones that make the news or go viral on social media—are essentially crimes. Sexual crimes, specifically, targeting men.
On the flip side… most women lack any immunity to men.
As for me, since I don’t particularly like men, I make a point of not thinking too much about it.
But in today’s world, something as simple as a man being a little assertive or wearing revealing clothes is enough to make most women blush or avoid direct eye contact altogether.
And now… that phenomenon has started happening in this mansion.
Take, for instance, the maids’ break room.
“Ahh… don’t you think the young master has been really nice lately?”
“Totally! A year ago, he was so spoiled and awful, though.”
“Hey, listen to this! The other day, I saw him in the training room, and his T-shirt was all sweaty and see-through. It was so sexy!!”
“No way!”
“I’m so jealous you got to see that!”
Even the maids, who are usually serious and dedicated to their work, have started reacting differently.
These women were supposed to have passed the rigorous vetting process by the Lady and her peers, meaning they were chosen for their ability to handle men calmly and professionally. Yet…
“If it’s the young master now, do you think it’d be okay to just lightly touch him?”
“Idiot! That’s still harassment, you know?”
“Yeah, plus we’re already labeled as ‘predatory women’ who are ready to pounce at any moment. Guys are terrified of us! If he ended up traumatized, it’d be awful.”
“But don’t you think the young master doesn’t seem scared of us at all these days?”
Even these so-called “trained” maids now blush and daydream about the young master.
The fact that the maids around him have been so giddy lately… the young master himself remains oblivious to it.
Actually, it’s probably better if he doesn’t know.
And then, that same young master…
“Kyoko, I have something I’d like to say.”
“Yes, what is it, Young Master?”
“I want to go outside.”
“Yes. That’s not allowed.”
“Ah, thank you—wait, huh?”
He announced he wanted to go outside.
But there’s no way I can let that happen.
Even as I considered the situation, my instinct kicked in, and I shut him down before even thinking it through.
“Ahem… Kyoko, I want to go outside.”
“Yes, I hear you, young master. But no, you can’t.”
“…What?”
No matter how many times he asks, the answer is still no.
The current young master, who seems to lack any sense of danger and is unusually careless, cannot be allowed to step outside. Who knows what actions women might take if they encounter him.
“It’s dangerous for the current you to go outside, Young Master.”
“D-Dangerous!? Are you saying… my life is at risk?”
“…In the worst-case scenario, that could happen.”
“What!?”
Yes, in the worst case, women might actually attack him.
Simply being male makes him a target. That alone brings a significant level of risk.
Still, the person standing before me is undeniably the young master.
If I flat-out refuse, there’s a chance he might revert to his old spoiled ways and throw a tantrum like before.
After all, the accident where he slipped on the stairs and hit his head in the first place… that was caused by one of his selfish whims.
Even now, the young master looks at me with a pleading expression, eyebrows slightly furrowed.
It’s clear how much he wants to go outside.
This is surprising, considering how he used to say things like, “I hate going outside! Women just keep staring at me!” and would refuse to leave the mansion under any circumstances.
Yet, now he’s insisting on going outside.
“If I understand correctly, Young Master, you want to go outside?”
“Yes, that’s right.”
“And what you want is to see the view outside, correct?”
“Y-Yeah, that’s it.”
So his goal is to step outside and see the outside world.
In that case…

The next day.
“Well then, Young Master. Shall we head outside? Are you ready to go?”
“Ah, yeah… sure.”
And so, I went outside with Kyoko.
You’re thinking it’s great I got permission, right?
Well, yeah, I did get permission, and technically, I’m going outside, but…
“A car ride wasn’t exactly what I had in mind.”
“Is that so? I think this is quite normal.”
“R-Right… normal, huh?”
I guess for rich people, traveling by car is just standard.
And it’s not just any car—this is a luxury car.
Still, I can see the outside world through the car windows, so… yeah, I guess a car ride will do for today.
Alright, let’s see what the outside world is really like!
