A Childhood Friend, Reunited After 10 Years Acts Deredere With Me - Chapter 1 - Reunion
Nn… nn…”
I turned off the alarm clock that was making the sound and got up from the bed, irritated by the annoying beep-beep sound.
“Fuaah… aaah…”
My name is Sora Kurokawa. I’m 17 years old, a senior in high school, just like any other student.
“Sleepy…”
I try to go back to sleep one more time, but if I sleep any longer I seriously won’t be able to wake up, so I quit, got out of bed, opened the closet, changed into my school uniform, and went downstairs.
“Good morning. Come on, eat your breakfast.”
I heard my mother’s voice and sat down on the chair to take a bite of bread.
“Areh? Kaa-san, you look a little flustered, don’t you?”
“Well… of course I am.”
Something good might’ve happened. I don’t know, but I’m a little curious.
“What could it be…?”
“Well, that’s a secret. But it’s a big surprise for Sora okay?”
“Surprise?”
“Yes. Oh no! you’re going to be late! Why don’t you eat up and get to school?”
“I know.”
………
……
…
“Hey Sora, did you know? There’s a new student coming to day?”
As soon as I get to school, my friend Kawahara Shunya tells me that. I sat down and chatted about it with the other students near me.
“For real? Who is it?”
“Rumor has it that she is a very pretty returnee. She’s so pretty that she’s been asked to be a model many times in the U.S. A perfect model with great style.”
“Not only does the rumor have a tail, but it even has a spine and arms and legs. There is no such thing as a perfect human being.”
I deny there being such a perfect human being.
“I know! But it makes you wonder, doesn’t it? If there was a girl like that… I could teach her all kinds of things… mufufu…”
“What are you imagining…”
When the disgusted looks started pouring in, Shunya coughed and cleared his throat.
“Well, it seems that a female transfer student is definitely coming to this class, so let’s take bets on whether she’s cute or not.”
Leaving such a disgusting comment, Shunya went back to his seat. At the same time, the chime rang and the teacher came in from outside the classroom.
“Okay, everyone, take your seats~!”
Shoichi Kageyama is an old man in his 40s. He is popular with a good number of male students because of his athleticism and generosity of spirit. He is also affectionately known as Shochan.
“Hey, Sho-chan! Is a new student coming today for real?”
Shunya asked him a question right away, and he looked a little surprised and smirked.
“You’re so quick with the information. Yes, a transfer student is coming today. And a girl… so cute I almost fell in love with her.”
“Uooooh!!”
The male kids in the class cheered. Me? I’m a little happy too. But I’m not good at screaming that loud, so I won’t.
“For real? What kind of girl!? What kind of girl!?”
“That’s… well, you’ll just have to wait and see. So, the bar is set pretty high, but please come in.”
It would have been impossible for an ordinary student to overcome such a ridiculously high hurdle, but the student who came in was not ordinary, but an extremely beautiful woman. Her golden hair fluttered and her rounded brown eyes were very childlike.
(Areh…? something…)
It reminded me a little of a certain person. When I was 7 years old, there was a girl with golden hair. In elementary school, the boys didn’t like it, so they bullied her.
I had a little sense of justice, so I gathered up my courage and helped the girl. We became good friends. A few months later, she was transferred overseas and we were separated, and that was the end. Ten years have passed since then. I don’t think she could be that girl, right?
“So, say hello to her, will you?”
“Yes, my name is Alice Cronest, I’ve been in the U.S. for 10 years, so… my Japanese is a bit rusty, but… please take care of me.”
“Bufu!”
In that air of silence, I involuntarily blew up. The reason? That, you see, matched perfectly with the girl’s name I explained earlier.
(What?! That’s a lie! Don’t tell me that’s Alice! No way! No, no, no, no! Alice doesn’t have such a nice body!)
As I’m thinking about it, I got a poke to my forehead.
“Ouch…oh…”
The Alice in front of you is no longer any shadow of the smiling Alice she used to be. She is stone-cold, sending me chilling looks that almost make me call her the Ice Queen…
“I knew it was Sora!”
“Heh…? Uboo!”
And then she hugged me with all her might.
