A Chance To Rewrite It All - Chapter 2- Yuna
Shirakawa Yuna was a simple teenage girl who would be turning eighteen in three months. Her parents are simple people, and since she is the only child of the family, they are a little overprotective of her.
In her plans, Yuna always wanted to be a teacher and teach many children. Her goal was set and she made several plans that could have led her to her goal
…however, falling in love with someone was never in her plan.
Ryuuske was not as bad as people call him. Although he was moody and had some bad habits Yuna knew she could change him.
However, after they spent a few nights together, Ryuuske stopped paying attention to her, while Yuna was already head over heels for him.
After knowing about his family situation, his problems and what he goes through she was able to sympathize with him. However, that sympathy soon turned into love when he showed kindness to her. When he spoke those sweet words and paid attention to her.
….but after a brief period, it started to fade. He stopped looking at her and also ignored her.
Her friends said that Ryuuske was like that. He always played with a woman’s body and abandoned them after that.
However, Yuna didn’t believe those rumours and continued to believe that one day he would reciprocate her feelings and they could become a good couple.
Ryuuske was her first love and she was dead set on making him look at her once again. She won’t care if he continues to ignore her messages. She won’t care if he doesn’t reply to her when she calls out to him.
…until she had hope, she would continue to pursue him. After all, for her, loving someone means waiting for them.
So, just like always, she was waiting for him near the corner of the street early in the morning. She has prepared something which he likes. Although he generally doesn’t eat, she always brings his potion so that if he decides to eat with her one day, she can win his heart with delicious food.
‘I will surely make you eat my food today, Ryuu-kun!’ Clenching her fists in determination, she kept on looking at his home to see when he left…however, even after waiting for half an hour, she didn’t see Ryuuske.
Even after his mother left, Ryuuske was inside; even though he wasn’t suspended from the school.
‘Is he skipping school today?’ She felt sad at the thought since even if he didn’t talk to her, his presence alone in the classroom was hefty enough for her.
She was contemplating if she should wait some more or should just go after dropping the bento at his doorstep when suddenly her phone buzzed.
She clicked her tongue, expecting her childhood friend Sato to be pestering her again….however, the moment she looked at the person’s name, she nearly dropped her phone.
I-It was from Ryuuske!
She hurriedly opened her chat box with moisture appearing in her eyes. The tears of happiness were barely blurring the message as she read it,
[I won’t be able to come today. Go to school without me, okay?]
Her eyes widened…he could not come, and for that, he sent her a message. The same Ryuuske who hasn’t replied to any of her messages for the past four weeks suddenly sent a message on his initiative.
‘There is something wrong…’ She clenched the strap of her bag, and with determination flaring in her eyes, she marched towards his home.

[Ryuuske’s POV:]
Since the neighbours love to gossip, I invited Yuna inside…however, the real reason for inviting her inside was that I needed some time to collect my thoughts.
She silently followed me, and even though she was a few meters behind me, I could smell her flowy scent.
Glancing over my shoulders I found the girl to be looking exactly how I remembered.
Long black hair, which is akin to the dark sky, with moon-like white skin and blue aquamarine eyes. With her bangs covering her head, the girl looked both adorable and innocent.
“Sit there, I will bring something for you,” I told her while gesturing toward the couch as I went inside the kitchen to take some juice.
She did as I say, and sat down obediently. From the kitchen, I looked at her and found the girl looking concerned about something.
I heaved a sigh. It seems messaging her out of the blue caused her to worry about me. But what could I have done? Letting her wait for me out there made me feel like nothing but a criminal.
Once I returned to the living room I rested the glass on the table before sitting on the chair across the couch.
Once I sat down, the first thing she asked was, “Ryuu-kun…are you diagnosed with a serious illness?”
I nearly chuckled hearing what conclusion she came up with.
I didn’t want to hear what she would do if I really was ill….her answer would have made me feel even more guilty for abandoning the girl in my last life.
“No, nothing like that,” Exhaling a long breath, I added, “I just needed time to sort things out. Can you give me some time?”
Yuna blinked in confusion before asking, “Time for what?”
“To start this relationship properly…” My words caused her eyes to stretch a little as she raised her finger in my direction before asking in a trembling voice,
“Y-You mean…y-you and…” She finished while pointing the finger at herself.
She was on verge of tearing up when I nodded, so I got up from the seat and approached her. Pushing away the table I crouched before.the girl whom I have hurt the most in my entire life after Mom.
Holding her hands fondly in mine, I told her, “I have realised my mistake Yuna and I don’t want to lead such a life anymore..I want to change things…to improve things.”
Taking a long breath, I brought her hand and pressed it against my cheek, before asking, “I just want to do everything in the right way this time and no long want to hurt anyone…especially you, Yuna. So, can you give me just a single day to sort everything out?”
Yuna had tears in her eyes when she nodded and said, “Yes….for you, I can wait for my whole life…but please don’t make me wait for long this time.”
Getting up, I fondly kissed her forehead before saying, “I promise.”
