A Chance To Rewrite It All - Chapter 14- Meeting~2
The meeting between the two sides took a strange turn when Masaru confessed to being aware of Himiko’s condition yet not doing anything.
However, “I don’t hold you responsible, Shirakawa-san. We cannot help everyone we see or hear in trouble. So please, don’t lower your head.”
Ryuuske calmly stated. After beating that man his demeanor has returned to its original state. And just as he said, he couldn’t hold anyone responsible for his mother’s bad health except for himself and Shohei.
Masaru looked at the boy in front in a new light. The older one shaped a perception regarding the young man. He assumed Ryuuske was indeed a delinquent who beats up people at the drop of a hat. However, the person Masaru could see in front of him was not the same person he expected him to be.
“But still it is wrong to use violence to vent your anger. You could have complained to the authorities.” Masaru added, returning to his father-like demeanour.
Ryuuske gently smiled, “I will be mindful the next time.”
Ayumi heaved a sigh, “How is your mother now?”
Ryuuske was surprised to hear the woman who was spitting venom until now, was actually showing concern. Regardless, he responded,
“She is…doing fine. I called a doctor yesterday after she fell, and tomorrow I will take her to the hospital for a full body check-up.”
She asked again, “She has a health insurance card, right?” She asked since she knew that Ryuuske was a single-parent child.
Ryuuske nodded, “Yes, she got one after she started working.”
“Ryuu-kun, why didn’t you tell me that your mother is sick?” Yuna suddenly asked, with a frown on her brows.
The complaint in her voice and the concern she held in her eyes didn’t go unnoticed by the couple, as they heard Ryuuske responding,
“I didn’t want to make you worried.” Ryuuske hesitantly responded, and as he expected, her eyes began to turn moist.
However, she didn’t say anything regarding that as of now and turned around, “I will bring some tea.” Saying so she left
Ryuuske wanted to follow her…but he couldn’t.
Yuna was not angry with Ryuuske; rather, she was disheartened about the fact that despite being worried about his mother, Yuna forced him to come here.
Reaching the kitchen she wiped her tears and took a few minutes to collect her thoughts.
Back in the living area, Masaru couldn’t help but ask, “How long have you two been dating?” For his daughter to show such a strong reaction, proves that she is indeed madly in love with the brat in front of him. And such a connection cannot be formed in a day.
Ryuuske seemed hesitant, but in the end, he didn’t hide it from them, “We were in contact for the past four months, but after going through several rocky phases, I realised that I am in love with her so I confessed my feelings just yesterday.”
Several years of separation and loneliness have taught him the meaning and importance of someone who loves you selflessly and unconditionally.
Taking a pause, Ryuuske added, “I would have come to meet you two soon, but I guess not everything went wrong because of those viral videos.”
Talking about yesterday, Ayumi couldn’t stop herself from speaking in a complaining tone, “You hit Sato pretty bad. He had a sore jaw and had to go to the doctor.”
“But do you blame me for why I acted that way?” Calmly Ryuuske asked; silencing Ayumi instantly.
She is fond of Sato but she couldn’t let his action pass just like that. Hurting Yuna to make her understand something is not something even her father ever did.
‘Maybe I was too biased?’ After seeing Ryuuske’s attitude, her perception began to shift towards both boys.
Masaru asked, “Have you thought of what would happen if Shohei complained to the police?”
Ryuuske nodded, “He won’t have any evidence; I made sure of it.”
Masaru narrowed his eyes, “Don’t you fear that I might become witness. After all, you confessed your guilt in front of me, and I was also at the crime scene.”
“You can’t….!” Before Ryuuske could have said something, the fourth person in the house suddenly shouted in a panic as she hurriedly approached with a tray in her hand.
With a helpless smile, Ryuuske hung his head low as he heard his dear girlfriend protesting, “If you tell the police then…then…I will also beat that harasser and go to prison with Ryuu-kun.”
Ayumi retorted, “Don’t say something foolish, Yuna! You can’t go to prison.”
“But mom-”
“Pfft-”
Yuna paused as Ryuuske suddenly chuckled, and looking closely, there was a thin smile of amusement on her father’s face as well.
Both ladies exchanged a glance, confused, but neither of the men told them why they were amused.
Getting up, Masaru asked, “You are staying for dinner, right?”
Ryuuske, who was standing up, paused for a moment, sharing a glance with Yuna. The girl looked too shocked to react, before the ex-blond nodded, “Yes, thank you.”

Sato was restless. He was pacing to and fro in the gallery, looking at the house across from his apartment where the Shirakawa family lives
He was told by Ayumi that today Ryuuske was asked to come home. Initially, he panicked, believing that they had accepted their relationship; however, soon, she assured him that they were inviting him to make him break up with Yuna.
Since the lady of the house said so, Sato was able to relax.
However, even though it had been over an hour, Ryuuske hadn’t left, and now Ayumi was not responding to his texts or calls. Yuna has already blocked him so there was no point in trying to contact her
‘Did they…actually accept him…no, no, no!’ Sato shook his head. Considering that scumbag’s attitude and how easily gets offended, it was impossible for them to like him. Shirakawa’s patriarch hates violence, and Ryuuske’s entire existence is dependent on violence.
They can never get along…
…right?
“Sato~can you give this to Ayumi-san?” Hearing his mother’s words, Sato perked his ears before, he readily nodded,
“Of course!”
