A Chance To Rewrite It All - Chapter 13- Meeting~1
“I told you!” Ayumi sounded excited when her husband informed her about what he saw today.
Shohei is her husband’s friend and they were meeting today to discuss something related to work—the lady was aware of it.
However, little did she or Masaru expect that rather than sitting in the cafe and talking to the man, he would need to take Shohei to a hospital first.
Why? Because he was beaten black and blue by a group of teenagers. And one of them was none other than the same boy who declared Yuna as his girlfriend.
Naturally, they didn’t inform Yuna about the incident or she would have told Ryuuske about the fact that Masaru saw his face back then.
“If he gets to know, that delinquent wouldn’t possibly come here.” Ayumi huffed, “I told you dear, that rascal isn’t good for our silly daughter. I suggest you should ask him to break up with her.”
Hearing her words, Masaru couldn’t refute since someone who often gets into fights and breaks the law is not someone Masaru would want his daughter to be with.
However, “Just as I told you yesterday, we cannot control our daughter’s life. We cannot tell her anymore what to do and what not.” Ayumi seemed to be in disapproval of the statement, urging Masaru to add,
“However, as her parents we cannot let her make a decision which can change her life for bad.”
Ayumi slowly nodded, “Do whatever you think is right, dear.”
*Ding* *Dong*
The doorbell rang, and the first person to respond to it was, naturally, Yuna.
She dashed toward the door and instantly pulled it open.
“Ryuu-kun….” Her excitement faded as she stood there in a daze, looking at Ryuuske with eyes full of appreciation and awe.
His previous blond hair was gone and now his black hair could be seen neatly combed. A black shirt and black formal trousers gave him a gentlemanly look; not too serious, not too casual.
Without piercing and his spiky hair, Ryuuske looked completely a different man. He looked extremely dashing.
“Can I come in?” With a smile, he asked; helping Yuna to climb out of her daze as she hurriedly nodded and stepped back to give him some space to enter.
“You look gorgeous today, Yuna. The color of your dress is pretty.” Yuna is wearing a dark blue A-line dress that reached her knees and gave a healthy exposure of her skin around her neck.
Her attractive curves and flawless skin was being highlighted in the dress. And combined with her braided hair and aquamarine eyes, the girl looked nothing less than a fairy.
She shyly smiled hearing his words and with her head leaning down, she thanked him, “T-Thank you…I knew you would like it.”
“*Ahem*” The sweet atmosphere between the two broke when they heard a woman coughing nearby.
Ryuuske directed his gaze at the familiar woman whom he had met a couple of times in the previous timeline.
Shirakawa Ayumi—the woman who probably hates Ryuuske the most in this world.
Ryuuske advanced towards the lady before greeting her, “Good evening, Shirakawa-san.”
The lady ignored him and after turning towards Yuna, she said, “Your father is waiting.” Saying so, she turned
and walked away.
Yuna had a frown on her face which soon turned into panic as she turned towards Ryuuske, wanting to say something, but,
“I know she doesn’t like me, and you don’t need to blame yourself for it. For now, let’s not make your father wait for too long, okay?”
Yuna nodded even though she was not ‘okay’ with the way her mother behaved.
Disliking someone is one thing, but you cannot behave rudely to them after inviting them to your house.
The duo proceeded to the living area where the couple sat.
A chair was kept across the couch which, naturally, was kept there for Ryuuske.
Ryuuske wordlessly stepped forward and sat down.
Looking at the man’s stern eyes, Ryuuske hesitated for a moment…however, soon he decided that the sooner he said it, the sooner he could get rid of these burdensome feelings.
Lowering his head, Ryuuske began, “I would like to apologize for what happened with your friend. Actually it was me who beat him up with my friends and when I noticed you were approaching I deemed the best option was to run away.”
There was a frown on Ayumi’s face as she glanced at her daughter—expecting her to be the one who might have eavesdropped and told Ryuuske about the fact that they know about him being involved—however, looking at her expression it was clear that she was unaware of the incident.
On the other hand, Masaru was surprised by something else. The moment he saw Ryuuske having his natural black hair, the man thought that even after Masaru telling that he saw him, the teenager might deny it under the pretense of his new hair shade.
However…Ryuuske went completely against his expectations and confessed his mistake-no.
“You aren’t sorry because you beat him but because he is my friend?” Masaru broke the growing silence.
Ryuuske looked up slowly and nodded, “Yes, Shirakawa-san, I don’t regret beating that man. And if I get back in time, I will still beat him up.”
Ayumi scoffed, “Let me guess, because he insulted you in any way that you wanted to get back on him?”
Ryuuske didn’t feel offended by her remark and smiled softly before telling her, “If he had insulted me then I might not have resorted on violence, Shirakawa-san…however, that man tormented that person whom I love more than anyone else.”
Looking into Masaru’s eyes, Ryuuske added, “My mother.”
That single word was enough to make Ayumi shocked as her lips parted in disbelief. She was thinking that to impress them, Ryuuske would bring Yuna and falsely accused Shohei to justify himself.
However…mother?
“Your mother used to work in the same company as his?” Masaru asked; his initial shock now slowly receding.
“Indeed, sir. Shohei was the manager of that department in which she used to work. Constant overwork and harassment has taken a massive toll on her health….she even fainted while talking to me…”
Masaru heaved a sigh. He was aware of Shohei’s personality, which allowed him to believe in the boy.
After a pause, Masaru asked, “Is your mother’s name…is Himiko?”
Ryuuske’s eyes slightly widened before he nodded.
Now, this time, it was Masaru who lowered his head; startling Ryuuske and the two ladies.
“I should be the one who should apologize. Shohei mentioned an employee of his…whom he was deliberately tormenting … .but I didn’t say anything about it. So in a way, I should be blamed for her current condition as well.”
