- A C-Rank Magic Student Who Deludes Himself into Thinking He Is SSS-Rank
- Chapter 14: The Dark God of Destruction <2>
In the Crawford Magic Academy’s equipment warehouse, the female student behind him addressed Shion, crouched on the partially frozen floor. She had already finished putting on the skirt that she was halfway through wearing when Shion entered.
“Do you think you can just peek at me changing and get away with it?”
Although Shion’s performance was compelling, believing that he had suddenly awakened as a dark god of destruction in this situation was a stretch.
“Hmm. It seems difficult to control this mortal body after so long. But I’ll get used to it in time.
However, Shion persisted, implying that he hadn’t slipped and fallen but lost control of his body due to his unfamiliarity. He carefully stood up, avoiding the icy patch on the floor.
“First, a test of strength. I shall go to the royal palace and gauge my current power against the palace knights… Hehehe.”
Shion continued his act as the Dark God of Destruction, walking towards the warehouse’s inner door. It was clear that his only option now was a forceful exit.
Just as he was about to touch the doorknob…
The sound of something sharp piercing the air echoed in the warehouse.
A thirty-centimeter-long icicle had been launched from behind Shion, narrowly missing his hand and embedding itself next to the doorknob.
“…”
“Why are you ignoring me?”
A chilling voice colder than the icicle itself came from the red-haired female student standing behind him.
Shion had planned to force his way out of the warehouse while maintaining his act as the Dark God of Destruction, but he had reached his limit.
“What? Was there someone here? I didn’t notice due to your insignificant amount of magical power.”
Shion turned slowly, his purple eyes seething eerily, but the girl, already in her skirt, tapped her head with her finger.
“…Are you okay in the head?”
Ignoring the girl’s utterly reasonable question, Shion continued his charade.
“So, you dare to obstruct the path of the Dark God of Destruction, Vasago Deus Gregor, little girl. How foolish. However, I do not want to kill a mere insect like you. Consider yourself lucky, I’ll spare you this ti—”
A sharp sound abruptly cut off his words.
A blade of wind flew past Shion’s neck, grazing it and leaving a mark on the door behind him as if an axe had struck it.
“If you don’t stop that nonsense the next time you open your mouth, I’ll take your head off.”
“…Sigh. Fine, fine. I admit defeat. I’m impressed that you saw through my perfect act.”
“Are you sick in the head?”
Shion quickly dropped the act and reverted his eye color to normal.
The warm blood trickling down his neck was a clear sign that the girl’s threat was no bluff.
He raised his hands in an exaggerated surrender, still nonchalant in his defeat.
“Anyway, you can’t just pretend to be crazy and get away with peeking at me changing.”
Taking a moment to compose herself, the girl glared at Shion.
“Don’t think you’re getting off easy after peeking at Eliza Loredo, the third-ranked student of the second year.”
“…I was hoping to get off easy, but if you’re not inclined to let it slide, neither am I.”
“Your smug attitude gets on my nerves.”
At Crawford Magic Academy, the uniforms are distinguished by the color of the line on the uniform, which indicates the student’s class. Class A has red lines, Class B is blue, Class C is gray, and Class D has no lines. The girl in front of Shion, identified as Eliza, wore a uniform with red lines, signifying she was a top-tier A-class magic student.
“(She’s the third-ranked student of the second year…)”
Moreover, her title as “third-ranked of the second year” meant she was the third-best magic student among all second-year students at the academy.
“Can I ask you one thing?”
“What?”
Shion, keeping his tone casual, was met with an irritated response from Eliza.
“Why were you changing in the equipment warehouse?”
Ideally, his previous manic act should have made her forget the embarrassment of being seen changing.
However, Shion was prepared to atone for it if she was truly angry about him peeping. Still, he was curious about why she was changing there in the first place.
“Ugh. I made a chemical in the lab and spilled some on my uniform. I thought, ‘It’ll be quick, and no one will come,’ so I just changed here in the nearby warehouse. Is that a problem?”
Eliza’s answer was laced with a ‘so what if I was changing here?’ attitude.
“No, that’s fair,” Shion replied, accepting her explanation.
“So, how should I apologize to you?”
“Hmph, isn’t it obvious? I want you to feel more humiliated than I did.”
“Alright, I understand.”
“Wait, understand what? What are you—?”
Suddenly, Shion began to unbuckle his belt.
“Hey, what are you doing? Wait, stop!”
“I thought you wanted to see my underwear since I saw yours.”
“Are you crazy? No, that’s not what I meant! Stop it!”
As Shion unhesitatingly reached for his zipper, Eliza, her face red, grabbed his arm to stop him.
“Can you let go? I can’t take off my pants like this.”
“Don’t take them off! Are you out of your mind? Stop!”
Eliza desperately tried to prevent Shion from undressing.
“Ugh…”
Despite her efforts, Shion managed to unzip his pants and was about to pull them down when…
“Stop it already!”
“Ouch!”
Eliza headbutted Shion, who was leaning forward, right on his forehead.
“…”
Shion stumbled backward, clutching his forehead, as Eliza crouched, holding her head.
“What are you doing?”
“That’s my line! Are you insane? What were you thinking?”
“I thought… you wanted to see my pants.”
Shion was genuinely puzzled about why he was scolded when he thought she wanted to see his underwear.
“That’s ridiculous! You are stupid!”
Shocked, Shion apologized, misunderstanding that she wanted to see his underwear.
“I’m sorry, I thought you wanted to see my pants…”
“Don’t talk like I’m some pervert! And put your pants back on!”
Eliza, still furious, pointed out Shion’s slightly lowered pants. He quickly pulled them back up.
“That’s a shame, it was all for nothing.”
“Just shut up!”
“Well, what should I do then?” Shion asked, still trying to figure out how to make amends.
Eliza, still fuming, stood up.
“I was going to make you bow and lick my shoes, but I’ve changed my mind. You’d probably do it easily, and it wouldn’t be humiliating enough for you.”
“I do have some pride, you know.”
“Be quiet; I’m not satisfied with that anymore! I’ll beat you up, make you suffer, then have you bow and lick my shoes while crying for forgiveness!”
Eliza pointed at Shion with a fierce look.
“I, Eliza Loredo, third-ranked student of the second year at Crawford Magic Academy, challenge you to a duel.”
