Volume 9 Chapter 5 Feelings I couldn’t say
On the deck of the magical airship were Ruisha and Sharo.
The sky was clear, and a pleasant breeze gently tousled their hair. It was the perfect day for flying.
“I can’t quite grasp it from being inside, but we’re really flying in the sky. It feels surreal,” Sharo said.
Holding onto the railing, Sharo leaned over to look below.
The ground was far below, a height from which a fall would be impossible to survive.
“Normally, this height would be extremely cold, but it seems to be warm due to the magical airship’s functions. It’s amazing. I wonder how it all works,” Ruisha remarked, leaning against the railing beside Sharo.
“…………”
Suddenly, an unexpected silence fell upon them.
In this moment, there were only the two of them present. No students from other schools, no classmates, not even the ever-present Wolf and Iris.
There were times when they were alone together when they first met, but recently, their time alone had become scarce due to the increased activity around them. Unintentionally finding themselves in this situation made things a bit awkward.
“Um… So, what did we usually talk about when we were alone?”
“Heh, why are you getting all flustered? You don’t have to be so awkward.”
Seeing Sharo gently laugh and say that, Ruisha felt a warmth fill his heart.
(As I thought… I… I like her…)
Initially, Ruisha had approached Sharo to gather information about the hero.
And through the natural course of events, they had developed a relationship. At first, he only thought of Sharo as “a cute girl,” but as he spent time with her, Ruisha’s feelings toward her grew stronger, deeper, and more certain.
Now, he could confidently say that he liked her.
However, precisely because of this realization, Ruisha couldn’t forgive himself for approaching Sharo with the intention of using her.
Knowing the strength of Sharo’s feelings, he couldn’t continue to harbor these complicated emotions.
“Sharo, we rarely get a chance to be alone, so there’s something I want to talk to you about.”
Seeing the seriousness in Ruisha’s expression as he began, Sharo also grew serious.
“What is it? Go ahead, talk.”
“Yeah…”
Ruisha spoke honestly about his feelings.
The guilt he felt towards Sharo, the feeling of being sorry for it, and now acknowledging that he genuinely liked her.
He confessed these without evasion, laying his feelings bare to Sharo.
“I must have disappointed you. I’m sorry…”
Ruisha apologized with a remorseful expression.
He had said something that might make Sharo dislike him, and going back to their previous relationship might be impossible.
Ruisha feared the worst, but Sharo’s reaction was unexpected.
“Heh! Seriously? You were worrying about that?”
Sharo laughed in amusement, surprising Ruisha.
“Huh? Oh, you’re… not angry?”
“I’d be troubled if you underestimated me, Ru. I knew what you were thinking from the beginning.”
Saying so, Sharo moved closer to Ruisha.
The gap between the two facing each other was only a few centimeters. Their breaths were so close that they brushed against each other’s faces.
With this proximity, Sharo looked straight into Ruisha’s eyes as she spoke.
“Got it? Let me clarify since it seems you misunderstood.”
“Huh, wha…what?”
In this extremely close distance, with Sharo talking while holding his hand, Ruisha felt overwhelmed and responded timidly.
His hand held the warmth of Sharo’s body, his nose caught Sharo’s sweet and pleasant scent, and his eyes were filled with Sharo’s lovely face. Ruisha’s heart pounded so loudly that he could hear it, making his heart race.
“I didn’t start liking you because you liked me. So, it doesn’t matter to me that you approached me with the intention of using me.”
“But…”
“It’s not ‘but.’ Got it? This was a battle to win your affection. So, if you fell for me, that’s my win. There’s no reason for me to get mad.”
Seeing her declare so firmly, Ruisha whispered softly to himself, “I can’t compete with that.”
He had thought she was inadvertently hurting her, but it seemed he had underestimated Sharo’s magnanimity.
“Well… I’m glad you were so concerned about me. Thanks.”
Sharo released Ruisha’s hand and wrapped her arm around Ruisha’s back.
“So, this is a thank you, and a bit of marking.”
Saying this, Sharo put strength into the hand around Ruisha’s back, pulling him gently closer and giving him a tender kiss.
“――――Mmm.”
The two who exchanged a long kiss that felt like an eternity separated their lips and blushed shyly.
“What are you blushing for?”
“Well, Sharo, you’re blushing too.”
“I-I’m not blushing, you’re just noisy.”
While arguing, Sharo moved the hand that was behind him down, and this time, she placed her hand on Ruisha’s waist and pulled him towards her.
Their lower abdomens pressed snugly against each other, and warmth slowly spread from there. Sharo provocatively peered into Ruisha’s face.
“Why are you getting excited, naughty.”
“W-Well, because Sharo, you’re doing this kind of thing…”
“Hmph, consider this my payback for all the times I got nervous. Brace yourself, because from now on, it’s my turn!”
With that declaration, Sharo linked her arm with Ruisha and pulled him towards their cabin inside the ship.
“If you feel bad about it, tonight, you’ll listen to me. Be prepared, I’ll thoroughly let you know how I feel!”
Saying so, she directed a beaming smile at her beloved.

Volume 9 Chapter 6 Young Fangs
“Second Day of Life Aboard the Magic Airship.
Ruisha and Wolf watched calmly from the deck of the magic airship as it flew gracefully through the clear morning sky.
“Today’s weather is also great, Captain… Hmm? Is something the matter? Are you clutching your waist?”
“Heh, it’s just a little…”
Wolf worriedly watched Ruisha, who seemed to be in pain as he clutched his waist.
Reluctant to share the reason, Ruisha laughed and brushed it off.
“Instead of worrying about that, let’s look outside. Riding a magic airship isn’t something you get to do often!”
Saying this, Ruisha shifted his gaze to the vast sky, and amidst the clouds, he noticed a dark speck floating in the air.
“…I wonder what that is.”
Intrigued, Ruisha focused his eyes using Qi and activated his Qi technique, ‘Hawkeye Vision.’ Qi techniques that enhance human abilities also affect sensory organs. Vision was no exception, and with ‘Hawkeye Vision’ activated, Ruisha could even perceive small insects a hundred meters away.
With this enhanced vision, Ruisha closely examined the dark speck and unraveled its true identity.
“That’s… a flying wyvern, not a particularly large one, but we should be cautious.”
A flying wyvern, as the name suggests, is a type of dragon that possesses wings and flies through the sky.
Although they share the same ancestors as the dragon race, ‘Dragonkin,’ ruled by the Dragon King Rio, their power significantly pales in comparison. Their magical and physical strength both fall far short of the dragonkin, and their intelligence is low, incapable of assuming a humanoid form.
However, this comparison is relative to the mighty dragonkin, and compared to ordinary monsters, their strength is more than sufficient to be considered a threat.
“They must be mistaken, thinking of the magic airship as some kind of monster. Flying wyverns are territorial and might attack.”
“Isn’t that bad?! Flying wyverns are known for their powerful fire-breathing breaths. If we get hit by that, we’ll crash!”
“Yeah, maybe we should take care of it before it gets too close.”
Saying this, Ruisha attempted to fly out into the sky using flight magic from the magic airship.
However, someone stopped him in his tracks.
“Wait, let us handle this. It’s our job.”
Saying so, five young men clad in distinctive gear appeared.
They wore armor and wielded weapons made from abundant monster scales and hides. Typically, weapons and armor were made from ores, making the use of monster materials rare.
This was due to the difficulty in crafting rather than the strength of the material. Processing monster materials was much more challenging than working with ores. Consequently, their armaments were of high crafting difficulty and came with a corresponding price tag.
“And who might you be?”
“We are the representative members of the Academy of Young Fangs, a renowned institution in the commercial nation. We’re also responsible for the security of the magic airship.”
The one who spoke brandished a spear crafted from a beast’s fang and directed his attention towards the flying wyvern.
“We’ll handle that flying wyvern. Please return to your rooms and stay quiet.”
Wolf felt a bit irked by their authoritative tone. While their words were noble, their demeanor seemed to belittle them as inferior.
On the other hand, Ruisha remained unbothered, captivated by something entirely different.
“Um, how did you notice the flying wyvern? You can’t see it with the naked eye, right?”
“The magic airship is equipped with a powerful radar. Not only can it detect approaching monsters, but it can also identify the specific species of the target.”
“Wow! The commercial nation has even developed something like that?”
“That’s right, quite impressive.”
The young member of the Academy of Young Fangs, was eager to share confidential information, encouraged by Ruisha’s curiosity.
His classmates, worried that he might continue revealing secrets, hurriedly tapped him on the shoulder.
“Leader, it’s about time…”
“Hmm? Ah, we should get to work soon.”
The student referred to as the leader donned goggles with black lenses and pointed at Ruisha.
“You, you’ve got quite the potential. What’s your name?”
“I’m a student from the Magic Academy, Ruisha. And you?”
“I’m Kruik, a second-year member of the Academy of Young Fangs. It’s a coincidence meeting you here. You should watch our hunt…”
Saying this, the young man named Kruik laughed and, facing the vast sky, dashed and leaped from the airship, beginning their airborne pursuit.
