Volume 9 Chapter 33 Banquet
“Oh man, that kid was such a little punk!”
“Yeah, being all cocky despite being so small, really got on my nerves.”
“Well, whatever, we gave him a good beating. The folks at the Magic Academy should have learned how fearsome we are now.”
“No doubt.” Laughter and agreement filled the air as the students of the training institution for mercenaries ‘Gira’ raised their voices.
They were reveling in a drinking party, using the story of assaulting Chisha in their dormitory as an excuse to indulge.
As the alcohol began to take effect and they started feeling good, another student walked into the hall where the drinking party was being held.
“Sorry for being late. Oh, looks like it’s already started.”
The student who entered was wearing the Gira uniform. The students inside, recalling that he had said he was going to the restroom, welcomed him, saying, “Took you long enough, hurry up and join us.”
“Sorry, sorry, the restroom was crowded.”
“Really? Wasn’t it because you struggled with someone formidable?”
The surrounding students burst into vulgar jokes and laughter.
All the students from Gira who had come to Sanctria were gathered in this hall. There were around fifty of them in total, creating a bustling atmosphere. They had spread food and drinks all over the hall, littering and throwing garbage everywhere. Naturally, they intended to leave Sanctria without bothering to clean up after themselves.
“Eugh, this is disgusting…”
The student who had just entered grimaced at the sight before him. He desperately suppressed the sour sensation welling up from his stomach with his hand. Feeling the alcohol coursing through him and making him light-headed, he addressed his inebriated classmates.
“Hey, why did we beat up that student from the Magic Academy?”
“Huh? Because those Magic Academy folks disrespected us, obviously. Despite being from a weak school, they’re so arrogant. The kid who participated in that match must have used some underhanded tactics. Otherwise, there’s no way they could beat us.”
A student blabbered baseless speculations without any evidence. The classmates around him nodded in agreement. It seemed like what he was saying was a common understanding among the Gira students.
“I really wanted to retaliate against that black-haired kid… but there was a possibility of them using dirty tricks again and turning the tables. So, when I tried to threaten a seemingly weak guy, I got really lucky and caught an incredibly feeble one. I was genuinely fortunate!”
Guffaws and crude laughter echoed in the hall.
The students verbally berated the Magic Academy, Ruisha, and Chisha.
The student who had entered later and listened silently stood up after a while.
“Hm? What’s wrong? Need the restroom again?”
“…Well, something like that.”
He left the hall amidst the laughter. When he opened the door and stepped outside, four individuals were silently standing there.
It was Ruisha, Sharo, Wolf, and Kazaha.
They approached the person in the Gira uniform who had just come out.
“…”
Ruisha approached the person and casually placed his hand on their shoulder.
“How did it go?”
“Yeah, it went well… Ruisha…”
Poof! Smoke curled up from the student in the Gira uniform. As the smoke settled, Ruisha’s classmate, Pardio Miragia, emerged from the haze.
He pulled out a round crystal the size of his palm from his pocket and handed it to Ruisha.
“I should have recorded everything they did. It seems like they’re all inside. If we’re going to proceed, now’s the time.”
“Thank you, Pardio, for doing something this risky.”
“Oh, Chisha is my precious friend too. This is a small favor☆.”
Though Pardio spoke like this, his hands were shaking subtly. Despite possessing extraordinary transformation abilities, his combat skills were low, on par with Chisha. It was easy to imagine that if it were revealed that he was a spy from the Magic Academy, he would face the same fate as Chisha.
But he did it. For the sake of avenging a newfound friend.
“I’ll leave the rest to you… everyone.”
“Yeah, leave it to us.”
Responding to his trembling plea, Ruisha and the others continued on with a determined expression.

Volume 9 Chapter 34 Charge
The doors of the grand hall burst open with force, rolling before the Gira students. The door that flew in seemed as if it had exploded like a bomb at close range, crumpled and broken beyond repair, unable to fulfill its door duties anymore.
“What the heck!?”
Startled by the sudden explosion, they turned their eyes in the direction from where the door had come flying. There stood Ruisha, who had just kicked the door away.
Ruisha silently stepped into the well-ventilated hall. One of the Gira students stood in his way, blocking his path.
“What do you want? You’re not here for revenge on that brat, are you?”
“And if I am?”
The Gira students laughed at Ruisha’s response.
While Ruisha and his friends were four in number, the Gira students were fifty, making the difference in strength overwhelming.
“You’re an idiot. Speaking of which, that brat we roughed up was an idiot too! Despite being weak, he tried to rebel like he was tough!”
Saying so, he burst into laughter again.
Seeing this, Ruisha took a deep breath, tightened his fists, and asked him with a stern voice.
“Is that all you’ve got to say?”
An instant chill spread throughout the Gira’s student body. The murderous intent was so strong, making him feel like a large beast’s teeth had been pressed against his neck.
His brain sent danger signals, urging him to flee from the spot, but it was too late. Ruisha’s fist, already released, pierced his face at an unbelievable speed, sending him flying.
Without a chance to guard, he took Ruisha’s powerful punch head-on and flew with that momentum, crashing into the wall. Blood spurted from his nose like a fountain as he collapsed to the floor.
Witnessing this, the Gira students, now sobering up, grabbed their weapons and stood up. While they were indeed devoid of any morals, they were individuals who had overcome rigorous training in one way or another.
Despite having just drunk alcohol moments ago, they swiftly switched to combat mode.
“You’ve got some nerve coming in here. Are you prepared to be reduced to a rag!?”
“You’re not expecting to leave here unscathed either, are you? Just so you know, we’ve long passed the point of resolving this through dialogue… Everyone, let’s do this!”
Responding to Ruisha’s call, Kazaha and Wolf also stepped forward.
Meanwhile, Sharo stood like a guardian at the place where the door had been.
“I’ll stay here to ensure they don’t escape. Go ahead and unleash your fury to your heart’s content.”
In response to her words, Ruisha gave a thumbs-up and charged into the Gira students.

“What… what’s happening…”
While witnessing the terrifying scene in front of their eyes, a Gira student, couldn’t help but utter those words.
What was unfolding before them was a scene where their classmates were being overwhelmed by only three students.
“…It hurts.”
They pinched their cheek, half expecting it to be a dream, but it was painfully real.
Realizing this was indeed reality, they tightened their grip on the sword in their hand and shouted, “Ugh, damn it!”
Their target was the smallest girl among the three. He intended to change the battle by taking her hostage… but as he approached within a few meters, a sharp pain shot through his arm.
“Ouch, what’s… whaaat!?”
In shock from the sudden event, he looked at his arm to find an enormous wasp, about twenty centimeters long, perched there, its sharp stinger piercing through.
The wasp, with distinctive green and black stripes, pumped its pulsating abdomen, injecting venom to its heart’s content. Rather than letting the man hit himself, it flapped its wings and made a swift exit.
“You! What the he…ck…”
Paralyzed by the paralyzing venom that even large monsters would immobilize for a while, the student shuddered and collapsed on the spot. Satisfied with fulfilling its mission, the wasp, named Melon Hornet with green stripes, returned to its master, Kazaha.
“Thank you, take a rest. …Now.”
Kazaha slowly shifted her gaze towards Gira’s students.
Despite being only about 140 centimeters tall, she looked much younger compared to her peers. However, the students, under her icy gaze, felt her akin to a fierce predator.
“Honestly, even I’m surprised. This is the first time I’ve felt such anger towards someone. Not even when they insulted this body in my homeland did I get this furious.”
Insects like large bees and centipedes emerged from the gaps in her oversized robe’s hem and collar, causing a clattering sound. Kazaha’s anger spread to her insect companions, tinting her lifeless eyes red.
While Gira’s students had rich interpersonal experiences, facing numerous large insects in battle was new. Some students were already caught in their venomous fangs, causing their feet to freeze.
“It’s too late for regrets now. Even if you stick your hands into the deadliest poison, there’s no turning back. You’ll repay the price with interest.”
In the next moment, the back of Kazaha’s body bulged and contorted, revealing her secret.
“Come, Lala-chan. It’s time for the ball.”
