Volume 9 Chapter 19 Runaway
Having concluded the meeting in the athletes’ room, Sharo paced back and forth between the room and the corridor, alone.
“Really now. Where on earth did Ruisha go?”
She had intended to speak to Ruisha right after the meeting ended, but she got distracted by a classmate for a moment, and in that short interval, Ruisha vanished. Additionally, she couldn’t find Iris anywhere. Sharo had a bad feeling and desperately searched for them.
“Maybe they’re not inside the building anymore… Huh? Is that…?”
Glancing out of the athletes’ room window, she noticed a figure resembling Ruisha sitting on a bench outside. The distance was significant, making it hard for an average person to distinguish, but Sharo’s eyes couldn’t be deceived. Short black hair, seemingly delicate yet well-toned physique—it was undoubtedly Ruisha.
“I finally found you!”
Spotting him, Sharo stepped onto the window frame and, putting strength in her legs, leaped with all her might.
With graceful movements, Sharo danced through the air and covered a distance of about ten meters before landing on the ground.
“I finally found you. What are you doing here?”
“O-Oh, hehe, it’s nice weather, honey…”
“Honey? What are you talking about?”
In appearance, it was the usual Ruisha. However, something was off.
He seemed nervous, his gaze was downcast, and he had a guilty demeanor. His words and actions were more, how shall I put it… frivolous than usual.
What on earth could be the matter? Wondering, Sharo arrived at a somewhat perplexing answer.
“You… Pardio, right? Quite daring to disguise yourself as Ru in front of me, aren’t you?”
Saying this, Sharo grabbed the collar of the person who appeared to be Ruisha.
Then, from the person who seemed to be Ruisha, smoke emanated, revealing a blond young man.
“W-Wait a moment, Miss Yuderia! I wasn’t disguising myself as Ruisha on purpose!”
The person who had disguised himself as Ruisha was one of their classmates, Pardio Miragia. He couldn’t use any combat magic but had the rare ability to use transformation magic.
“So, why did you disguise yourself as Ruisha in a place like this? Depending on your answer, I might get a little rough, you know?”
“Waaaah! Your eyes are scary! Spare my life!”
Pardio raised both hands and shed large tears.
Being quite timid, he finally resigned and began to explain why he had done such a thing.
“Uhh. I was just asked by Miss Vondersen.”
“Miss Vondersen? Ah, you mean Iris.”
“She told me, ‘Please disguise yourself as Ruisha-sama and wander around casually.’ And then you suddenly approached me with an intense attitude, so I got scared, HAHAHA.”
“… I see. My apologies. It seems like you got dragged into this as well. By the way, why did you listen to what Iris said? It’s not like you’re particularly close, right?”
“She gave me two candies as a reward! Moreover, two of them!”
Watching him talk with genuine happiness, Sharo couldn’t help but sigh in exasperation.
“I’m getting a headache just thinking I got deceived by someone like him…”

Meanwhile, Ruisha and Iris were walking through the bustling city together.
“Hehehe, I wonder if Sharo has fallen into my trap by now.”
“Hmm? Did you say something?”
“No. I didn’t say anything, Ruisha-sama. Shall we continue enjoying our date?”
“Y-Yeah.”
Ruisha, embarrassed by the mention of a date, showed a shy expression.
While Iris continued to look at him with her usual cool demeanor, inside, she was doing a little victory dance.
(Alright! Finally, we’re alone together! I must seize this opportunity and absolutely win Ruisha’s heart…!!!!)
With this firm determination, Iris took Ruisha’s hand, and their date began.

Volume 9 Chapter 20 Cute
During the Grand School Festival, Sanctria was enveloped in a festive atmosphere.
People from various countries gathered in this country located in the center of the continent, and a wide variety of foods and goods were being sold.
Naturally, tourists also flocked to the area, and the streets were bustling with people.
Ruisha and Iris were happily strolling through the lively streets.
“Oh! Look! They’re selling something that looks delicious!”
“Hehe, indeed. Shall we try it?”
“Yes. Wait here, I’ll go buy it!”
Iris gazed at Ruisha, who was excited like any typical teenager, with a blissful expression.
Going out together just the two of them was rare until now, there was almost always someone else around. But today was different. This time alone with her beloved master was an incomparably blissful moment for her.
“I wish this moment could last forever…”
Murmuring to herself, she savored this blissful time. Meanwhile, Ruisha, who had bought some food at a stall, returned. He had skewered pieces of bird meat, seasoned and grilled, commonly known as yakitori. This food, popular in the Vivrania Empire where meat consumption was prevalent, had a tantalizing aroma of succulent fats.
Ruisha had bought two tempting skewers of yakitori and offered one to Iris.
“Here! I got it for you!”
“Is this… for me, perhaps?”
“Huh? Oh, yeah.”
Iris was taken aback, not expecting Ruisha to buy for her as well. Perceiving Iris’s confusion, Ruisha, who thought it was only natural, found herself perplexed.
“I-I’m really sorry, you didn’t have to go through the trouble, especially with the money…”
“Forget about it! Come on, let’s eat over there!”
Being pulled along, Iris was taken to a nearby bench. She sat beside Ruisha, feeling a bit bewildered by the sudden turn of events. Not sure what to do with the skewer she was handed, she noticed Ruisha gazing at her expectantly.
(…It would be disrespectful to refuse at this point.)
Suppressing her apologies, Iris decided to start eating.
“Well then… Bon appétit.”
Eating outdoors like this was a first for Iris, and she hesitated while taking a bite of the yakitori. The moment she did, the rich meat juices and the strong spice fragrance spread in her mouth.
“—Delicious.”
Iris unintentionally let out those words.
Seeing this, Ruisha smiled in satisfaction.
“I’m glad. I read in a book that vampires prefer high-quality meat, so I thought you’d like it. You usually hesitate to eat such things, right, Iris? So, I thought it’d be nice once in a while.”
Seeing Ruisha speak somewhat bashfully, Iris felt her own face warming up.
She never imagined she was being observed and thought of to this extent.
Covering her now thoroughly reddened cheeks with one hand, Iris directed her moistened eyes towards Ruisha. Despite her efforts to hide it, she was blushing profoundly and couldn’t conceal her embarrassment.
“…Could it be you’re embarrassed?”
“I-I’m not.”
While asserting this in an attempt to maintain her composure, Ruisha’s bravado made her heart skip a beat.
Furthermore, a mischievous desire welled up within Ruisha to see more of this side of Iris.
“You blush so much, Iris. It’s Cute.”
“C-Cute!? Please stop joking, Ruisha-sama, there’s no way I could be—!”
“I’m not joking. You really are cute.”
As she said this, Ruisha leaned closer, gently touching Iris’s beautiful golden hair, teasing it with care.
“—Ah!”
Iris reached the edge of her embarrassment and joy with this gesture, her eyes moistening dangerously close to the point of tears.
Sensing that this might be a bit too much, Ruisha withdrew, putting some distance between them.
“Sorry, sorry. I may have teased you a bit too much.”
“Hmph… Even if you’re Ruisha-sama, this jesting goes too far.”
Saying this, pouting her cheeks in response, Ruisha still couldn’t help but think how adorable she was, but he refrained from saying it out loud.
“Sorry, sorry. I didn’t mean any harm, so please forgive me.”
“No, I won’t forgive you. As punishment, you’ll have to spend the night making up for it.”
“Eh….. Do you not hesitate to express that?”
And so, they enjoyed a fleeting moment of respite.
