Volume 8 Chapter 13 Future Student Council President
Ruisha, who defeated the student council president Regulus, was accompanied by the three members of the student council as they entered the student council room.
Of course, Sharo, Iris, and Wolf were also with them.
“Well, well, it was indeed an impressive battle. Losing so splendidly leaves no room for excuses,” Regulus said, his cheeks swollen.
Despite admitting defeat, his face carried a hint of satisfaction.
“Now then, as promised, I shall acknowledge your entry into the student council. With your level of skill, becoming the student council president next year is not out of reach.”
The student council president of the Magic Academy is determined by a vote from the students. However, not just anyone can become a candidate for the student council president, only those already in the student council can be candidates.
To join the student council, Ruisha had to achieve good results in the match he participated in. One must possess both ability and popularity to become the student council president.
…However, in the first place, Ruisha didn’t take on the challenge to become a student council member or even the president.
“Um, so, the thing is, I don’t intend to join the student council.”
“Eh!? Seriously!?”
Once again refusing to join the student council, the three members of the council widened their eyes in astonishment. It seemed like they thought Ruisha was just being shy about joining.
“Then why did you agree to the match?”
“Mr. President, you said, didn’t you? ‘You can determine the participants for the ‘Grand School Festival’.”
“Ah, yes, I did say that… but do you really want that?”
“Yes. I really need it, could you please grant my request?”
Looking at Ruisha saying this with a serious expression, Regulus chuckled.
“Alright then. It’s a request from the future student council president. I’ll try to make something happen. Let me know soon about the participants.”
Ruisha’s face brightened upon hearing that.
“Really! Thank you so much!”
Having achieved his goal, Ruisha exchanged high-fives with Sharo and the others, sharing his joy. Determining the participants for the ‘Grand School Festival’ meant a lot to Ruisha.
“I’ll decide on the members soon and report back. Oh, I’m sorry for declining even though you kindly invited me to the student council. If there’s anything I can help with, please don’t hesitate to ask!”
“Well then. However, I believe you’ll join the student council someday. As long as you love this academy… right. I look forward to that time.”
“Sigh, I told you I won’t join.”
With a puffed-up cheek and a dissatisfied expression, Ruisha left the student council room with Sharo and the others. Inside the room remained only the three student council members.
“Man, he was really something. If we have kids like him, this academy is in good hands.”
“I’m still upset about losing in the test… sniff.”
“There’s no harm in losing to a strong guy. He’s gonna be an amazing person.”
The members of the student council praised Ruisha one after another.
Losing was frustrating, but they were happy to have found someone who could protect the academy they loved, the student council.
“Now, let’s see what kind of excitement awaits us. I’m looking forward to it.”
Regulus felt his heart flutter at the thought of the commotion Ruisha would surely stir up.

Volume 8 Chapter 14 The Reason for the Match
After leaving the student council room, Ruisha and his friends returned to the classroom.
By the way, the afternoon classes had already ended while they were competing with the student council. Although some students were still in Class Z, most seemed to have gone home.
“Phew, we’re finally back. So, shall we decide the members for the ‘Grand School Festival’?”
The phrase ‘Grand School Festival’ was frequently mentioned. It was the name of an annual martial arts tournament held on the Kitarica continent.
Almost all the academies in existence on this continent participated, selecting outstanding students from their own academies to compete.
The rules were based on a team system of three versus three. The first team to have all members incapacitated or to retire would be declared the loser.
While the tournament offered lavish prizes to the winners, what the participating academies truly coveted was not that.
What the participating academies really wanted was ‘popularity’. This event garnered high attention, and winning it would significantly boost the academy’s reputation. The number of incoming students for the next academic year would likely skyrocket.
Hence, academies from all over the continent were eager to achieve good results in this tournament.
Therefore, the tournament became highly competitive each year. No matter how much Ruisha insisted on participating, being careless was out of the question. They needed to carefully decide on the members.
Watching Ruisha deeply immersed in thought, Wolf raised a question.
“By the way, why are you so fixated on this school festival? Sure, fighting with students from other academies sounds fun, but can’t you leave deciding the members to the student council?”
“It’s not that, Wolf. We definitely have to win this school festival.”
Saying this, Ruisha handed Wolf a sheet of paper detailing the specifics of the ‘Grand School Festival.’ He had obtained several of them from the student council room.
“Take a look at the prize for winning this school festival.”
“Oh, what’s the prize? ‘A week’s stay at a resort destination’? Wow, that’s generous. But Captain, do you really want something like this that much?”
“The important thing is which specific ‘resort destination’ it refers to. The resorts associated with the Grand School Festival are located all over the continent. Among them is the resort ‘Lasisco’ within the Artemisia territory.”
The port town of Lasisco.
It was one of the top resorts on the Kitarica continent, known for its expansive beach nearby.
Though known for its delicious seafood and tranquil sea, that was not Ruisha’s objective.
“The legend of the ‘Pirate King Captain Bat’ that we discussed at lunch is related to the waters near this beach. Normally, as citizens of the kingdom, we wouldn’t venture into their territory. However…”
“If we win the school festival, we can enter without any issues, right? That’s impressive, Captain! You’ve thought this through!”
“Yeah, I think we can enter their territory without being detected. But I’d feel bad if we caused any trouble for Yuri.”
Despite having a reasonable justification, Ruisha was already reflecting on how many times he had troubled his friend’s stomach. Besides, winning the Grand School Festival would boost the reputation of the Magic Academy, bringing joy to Yuri as well.
“Let’s proceed step by step! First, let’s win the Grand School Festival!”
“Yeah!”
And thus, a new battle for Ruisha and his friends began.
