Volume 7 Chapter 74 Anxiety
“……There was something like that.”
“That must have been tough! Are you okay? Is anything hurting?”
“I’m fine, Tes-nee. Look at me, perfectly fine… hey, what are you touching!?”
Two days after the intense battle with the Demon Warlord Urakan, during the night.
Ruisha was inside the infinite prison. There, after a long time, he met Demon King Testarossa and Dragon King Rio, and he told them about the recent incident.
By the way, they were currently inside a house created by Testarossa’s magic, sitting around a round table. However, Ruisha was made to sit on Testarossa’s lap.
Even if he tried to escape, Testarossa’s strength was tremendous. Despite Ruisha’s increased strength from the fierce battle, he couldn’t break free.
“Come on, let me go, Tes-nee!”
“Why are you saying things like that!? Have you come to dislike your big sister!?”
“Oh, come on!”
Ruisha was being toyed with by Testarossa.
Watching this familiar scene, Rio spoke up.
“However, you’ve become stronger to defeat a Warlord Crest bearer, haven’t you, Rui? It seems the day when we’ll be surpassed by you isn’t far off, is it?”
Rio said with a grin, looking delighted.
Indeed, Ruisha had rapidly gained strength since venturing into the outside world. It was a result of his dedication to the daily training the two of them relentlessly imposed, coupled with his growth phase.
Yet, he still couldn’t envision a scenario where he could defeat them.
“I know I’ve become stronger, but I still don’t think I can beat Tes-nee and Rio anytime soon.”
Ruisha’s assessment was accurate.
Testarossa and Rio were classified among the top tier even in the current world in terms of their strength.
Even an adventurer of platinum rank, possessing strength considered to be “beyond human,” couldn’t stand against them.
With his current status of not even having awakened his Crest, it would likely be impossible for him to win, even if there are a hundred of him.
“True, you may not be able to defeat us for now, but don’t speak such weak words. With that attitude, you won’t win any battles.”
“Y-yeah…”
Though he responded, Ruisha seemed disheartened.
His confidence was waning. While he could defeat those with General Crests, could he truly win when facing a King’s Crest bearer? And if the Hero Orger, whom even Testarossa and Rio couldn’t defeat, were still alive, could he beat him?
Seeing Ruisha deep in thought, Rio frowned.
This was a worrying trend. Despite his steady growth, he might hit a wall at this rate.
With this concern in mind, Rio presented a proposition to Ruisha.
“Hey Rui, can I talk to you for a moment?”
“Yeah, what’s up?”
“How about a rare chance for us to train together? Of course, in a real combat format.”
Ruisha was taken aback by the sudden suggestion.
Why would he propose something like this now? Questions swirled in his mind, and he couldn’t find a response.
Seeing him like that, Testarossa protested to Rio.
“Hey, Rio! Rui-kun is feeling down, and you’re making such a suggestion! Show a little consideration for Rui-kun!”
“Quit nagging. Pampering isn’t the only form of kindness.”
With a dismissive wave to Testarossa, Rio peered into Ruisha’s eyes and asked again.
“Rui, try unleashing all your current power on me. Perhaps you’ll find something in doing so.”
“…Understood.”
Though Ruisha didn’t quite grasp the purpose of the fight, he understood that Rio was making this statement for his benefit.
In that case, he would go along with it. Even if he didn’t understand the true intention, he knew that they cared about him, strongly.
“Rio, if I’m going to do this, I’ll give it my all.”
“Good, let’s make it worthwhile. Give me a good challenge, alright?”
With their gazes locked, the two stepped outside.

Volume 7 Chapter 75 Dragon King’s Claw
The two emerged from the house and faced each other in an endlessly expansive, pure white space.
Rio was a head shorter than the petite Ruisha. However, the fighting spirit emanating from her seemed boundless, and Ruisha, who had to exchange blows with her, felt the sweat forming on his forehead.
Sensing Ruisha’s nervousness, Rio tried to ease it.
“Well, don’t be so tense. I’ll hold back and make sure not to go too hard. I won’t transform into a dragon form, and I won’t use magic or Qi attacks directly on you. If you manage to land even a single hit on me, I’ll consider it a pass. Does that reassure you?”
“…To be told that is a bit disheartening. Don’t regret this, alright?”
Even Ruisha, pushed to that extent, seemed to be a bit miffed.
He prepared himself, positioning his right fist and right foot forward in a half-body stance, ready to approach rapidly while evading the opponent’s attacks by minimizing the target. This stance was one he often favored, enabling swift closeness while dodging the opponent’s strikes.
“Hey! If you injure him, I won’t forgive you!”
Testarossa shouted from a little distance away.
She reluctantly stepped back after Ruisha accepted the battle, but she didn’t seem entirely convinced.
“You’re such a noisy one. Rui, don’t let that bother you.”
“When I’m about to fight you, I can’t afford to be distracted.”
“Haha, you say such nice things. Well then, shall we get started?”
Even as Rio spoke, she stood tall with her arms crossed. With her index and middle fingers moving swiftly while maintaining this posture, she provoked Ruisha, saying, “Come at me.”
“Alright, here I go…!”
At Rio’s provocation, Ruisha sprinted forward.
Ruisha’s movement speed, propelled by the magic gathered in the soles of his feet, was so swift that an ordinary person would mistake his sudden disappearance. Closing the ten-meter gap in an instant, Ruisha swung his fist, honing his Qi to its utmost limit.
His target was the vulnerable head. It felt uncomfortable to punch a girl’s head, but the opponent was the “strongest girl,” residing at the pinnacle of the strongest dragon species, a title not to be taken lightly.
Ruisha cast aside his reservations and delivered an all-out blow!
“Offensive Style… Meteorite Fist!!”
Ruisha’s fist hit Rio’s head as if sucked in, sending a tremendous shockwave and roar scattering in all directions. The moment of impact, the sound that reached Ruisha’s ears was the shattering of flesh and bone. Ruisha was confident that the attack landed, but that hope was easily shattered.
“That was a good punch. However, did you truly think you could land a hit on me with such a straightforward attack?”
Ruisha’s fist had indeed struck Rio’s forehead. However… what shattered was Ruisha’s fist. His fist was twisted and crushed in a gruesome and pitiful manner. The pain contorted Ruisha’s face.
“W-What on earth…!?”
“Dragon Martial Arts, Defensive Form ‘Dragon Scale Armor.’ Know that dragon scales are the highest-grade armor that repels many.”
“There was a technique like this? You should have told me earlier!”
Ruisha complained while keeping his distance from Rio. By the way, while running away, he had already used healing magic, so the injuries from his fist were already closed. However, he couldn’t completely eliminate the pain, and Ruisha winced as he gently rubbed his injured fist.
“Ha! Once you’ve honed your dragon techniques a bit more, I might consider teaching you. But for now, are we done? If you want to count the earlier attack as a hit, I won’t totally disagree.”
“Don’t be ridiculous! I’m just getting started!”
Saying that, Ruisha launched three massive fireballs toward Rio. It was Ruisha’s specialty magic, the advanced form of Super-Grade Flame, the Triple Super-Grade Flame, Tri-Fire.
There was no escape from the massive fireballs approaching from three directions.
Testarossa marveled at Ruisha’s magic. “Your mana seems to be much better refined than when we were in the Infinite Prison. It seems you’ve been training well.”
Impressed, Testarossa spoke. However, Rio seemed a bit dissatisfied.
“You’re just testing the waters? Come at me with everything you’ve got!”
Saying this, Rio swung her right hand vigorously, infusing it with mana.
As she infused her hand with mana, a gigantic dragon’s hand appeared at the tip of her right hand. It was black, ominous, and menacing. Sharp claws grew at the fingertips, each resembling a massive sword.
“Here we go, Rui! Dragon King’s Cliff-Edge Claw!”
Rio swung her right hand sideways.
Instantly, the gigantic dragon hand replicated the movement, delivering a sweeping strike. Just that alone generated a massive shockwave and a tempest in front of Rio. This power was the force of the dragon kind, often likened to a “natural disaster.” People in ancient times feared the dragon’s power so much that they believed hurricanes and earthquakes were caused by rampaging dragons.
In the face of this power, Ruisha’s all-out magical attack was effortlessly nullified.
“Ha! So, what’s your next move, Rui?”
Rio posed this question, expecting Ruisha to be behind the fireballs. However, behind the vanished fireballs, there was no sign of Ruisha.
“Hmm…?”
A moment of confusion. In the grand scheme of time, it wasn’t even a full second, a brief moment of vulnerability.
Ruisha didn’t let this moment slip by.
“Dimension Slash―――!”
That voice was heard from above.
When Rio looked up, Ruisha, who had already unleashed the Dimension Slash, was there.
(“Was that magic just a decoy…?”)
Just as Rio suspected, the Triple Super-Grade Flame Tri-Fire Ruisha released was a dazzling decoy. Ruisha concealed his presence with the enormous flames, immediately jumped from the spot into the sky, and circled around above Rio.
The meticulous preparation included leaving a doppelganger with the Qi Arts Defensive Style – Mirage, so that he wouldn’t be detected. Mirage had the same Qi as Ruisha, so it could deceive the dragon’s eyes to a certain extent.
Of course, if Rio were serious, this child’s play wouldn’t have worked. However, in the initial exchanges, Rio let her guard down. Sensing this, Ruisha decided to seize the moment to settle the match.
“Ha! This is getting interesting… My blood is boiling after a long time, Rui!”
Rio said this with excitement, and a malevolent grin on her face.
