Volume 7 Chapter 60 In the Great Hall
Rising above the royal capital, stands the white castle, Castle Weissberg.
Inside the grand hall, King Floyd and his attendants were gathered alongside a group of demons.
Sitting on the golden throne, King Floyd addressed the assembly of demons, particularly focusing on Granz.
“Granz, could you please tell me the reason for your visit to my kingdom?” King Floyd inquired.
Naturally, King Floyd did not believe the demons had come for a discussion. However, initiating an attack from his side would not bode well, as attacking guests admitted into the kingdom might draw criticism from other nations. If that were to happen, there was even a possibility that the demon kingdom and the empire would unite and invade the kingdom. If it came to that, the kingdom would be on a path to its downfall. Avoiding such an outcome was paramount.
Therefore, King Floyd had to wait for them to make the first move.
Whether knowingly or unknowingly, Granz adopted an attitude that antagonized King Floyd.
“Well, don’t be so hasty, King Floyd. How about a drink before diving into serious discussions? Let’s get to know each other first,” Granz said with a vulgar smile.
This was an obvious provocation. Although King Floyd didn’t show it on his face, flames of anger were burning inside him.
However, letting anger take over at this point would play into the opponent’s hands. King Floyd contained his anger and responded with a gentle demeanor.
“That won’t be necessary, Lord Granz. We are both busy individuals. Shall we conclude our business promptly?”
“Well, well, don’t be so unfriendly. I’ve brought fine wine from the demon kingdom. I’m sure it will suit the king’s palate, so please have a drink.”
Saying this, Granz persistently offered the wine.
At this moment, King Floyd sensed something amiss. This guy… it seemed like he was stalling rather than provoking. If that were the case, what was the aim?
King Floyd pondered on the reason behind Granz stalling. And being wise, he quickly arrived at the answer.
“I see… So the target wasn’t me, but the ‘outside’,” King Floyd remarked.
Upon hearing these words, Granz’s eyelids twitched slightly, confirming King Floyd’s suspicions.
“It seems my assumption was correct. Their aim is indeed elsewhere. They intend to trap me and the knighthood within this castle, while they seize control of the royal capital… It’s indeed a clever strategy. However, I won’t allow it. Royal Knights of the kingdom, defend the city at once!”
Upon receiving King Floyd’s command, the royal knights immediately sprung into action, attempting to leave the grand hall. However, they were blocked by the demon soldiers.
“Move aside! Or we’ll cut you down!”
“Heh, if you think you can, give it a try, noble knight.”
Despite the threatening gestures of the knights, the demon soldiers showed no fear. They knew that as long as they refrained from initiating an attack, the knights couldn’t strike.
“Being right can be quite inconvenient, King Floyd. Even if you are convinced your adversary is wrong, without evidence, you cannot wield your sword.” It’s unfolding just as Uracan predicted.
“Argh…”
King Floyd found himself in a predicament.
It was evident that the demons were causing havoc outside. However, without visual confirmation, if they unsheathed their swords now and there were no demons causing trouble outside, it would lead to a disastrous situation.
Someone needs to come and inform us of the situation outside soon, King Floyd thought. However, Castle Weissberg was currently surrounded by a barrier, making it impossible to observe the situation outside. Therefore, the soldiers inside the castle remained unaware of the chaos outside.
All hope seemed lost. In the next moment, however, the doors of the grand hall suddenly swung open, and an individual entered.
“Father! Please, come outside immediately!”
Entering the grand hall and uttering these words was a dazzling, blond, handsome young man Prince Yuri, the prince of Exadore Kingdom.

The voice of Prince Yuri echoed through the grand hall. With just that, the elite knights of the kingdom understood.
“We are already under attack.”
Understanding this, their actions were swift. They unsheathed their swords confidently from their waists and began swiftly cutting down the demons who stood in their way.
“What…!”
Caught off guard by this sudden action, the demons were cut down without a chance to resist. After clearing the obstacles, the knights turned towards Yuri, offering a bow, and then rushed out of the hall.
To protect their beloved citizens.
“Well, this is a problem, King Floyd. To think they’d believe the words of such a brat and start slashing my people. If this is a misunderstanding on your part, how do you plan to make amends?” Granz, the minister, taunted.
“I’d appreciate it if you wouldn’t underestimate me. Before being a king, I am a father. What kind of king would I be if I didn’t believe in my son?”
In response to Granz provocation, King Floyd replied with a resolute attitude.
In the grand hall were King Floyd, Knight Captain Eckel, two knight members, and Minister Granz. At the entrance stood Yuri and his attendant, Ibuki.
Glancing briefly at Yuri, Granz muttered, “I see.”
“I had heard that you have an exceptional son, but I didn’t expect it to be him. My, to think we’d have such interference…”
With these words, Granz spoke, and his expression changed drastically, his eyes widening in a flash. The once amicable face was now replaced by a terrifying visage filled with anger.
“You human scum…! You dare get cocky if we show the slightest restraint!”
Granz, filled with rage, had his hair stand on end like burning flames, and the muscles all over his body expanded. High-temperature flames rose from both his hands, filling the grand hall with heat.
“Prince, please step back!”
Sensing the abnormality, Ibuki stood in front of Yuri, pointing his sword at Granz. He tried to gather his courage to protect the prince, but his hand gripping the sword was visibly trembling with sweat.
The magical power and intensity emanating from the demon standing before them were overwhelming.
“I am Granz, the ‘Flame Demon.’ A warrior who rose to the position of minister through my strength alone. Even if you humans band together, you are no match for me!”
True to Granz words, he possessed exceptional combat abilities among the demons. Magical power, combat sense, and cruelty every aspect was outstanding, and he had a history of military exploits in numerous wars.
Though Ibuki and the knights were no match for him, there was another individual in this hall who could rival his military prowess.
“Lord Granz, I’ve heard of your military feats quite often. Every time I heard, I wondered: who is stronger, you or I…”
Saying this, Knight Captain Eckel drew his sword. After instructing his two subordinates to guard the king, he stepped forward in front of Granz.
At a towering height of 2.2 meters and a weight of 150 kilograms, Eckel was an extraordinary human in terms of size. However, facing a top-tier combat-type demon, Granz, who easily exceeded three meters in height, the difference in stature was beyond that of an adult and a child.
Nevertheless, Eckel maintained a composed posture, wielding a silver sword and a shield taller than himself. His expression showed no signs of fear or anxiety.
“Watch my way of fighting closely, Ibuki.”
“Yes, sir.”
Upon receiving the instruction, Ibuki focused all his senses on observing the battle between the two. The upcoming battle was far beyond his current understanding. The knowledge he could gain from this would be immense.
On the other hand, Granz turned towards Eckel and smirked.
“I’ve heard about you as well. A fool who dares to play the part of a warrior, despite being just a human.”
Saying this, Granz prepared his fists.
Both of his hands were fiercely ablaze, raising the temperature in the grand hall to a scorching level, enough to melt iron with a mere touch. The individuals inside were sweating profusely.
Eckel and Granz inched closer, and simultaneously, they engaged in the battle.
“Now!”
A clash erupted in the center of the grand hall, where the silver sword met the raging fiery fists, unleashing a deafening roar and a surge of heat throughout the room.
