Volume 1 Chapter 2 Two Kings
“Hmm…”
Rubbing my throbbing head, I sat up and found myself in a peculiar world, where both the sky and the ground were pure white.
Um, why am I here?
I remember I was doing my daily special training. Then I found that strange rift…
“Oh, right, I fell into that.”
I knew that thing was dangerous, but… sigh, I can’t stand my own foolishness…
“Oh, it seems you’ve woken up.”
“Huh?”
At that moment, a woman’s voice reached me as I moped.
Turning in response to the voice, I saw a beautiful young woman with black hair.
She had a slender figure, accompanied by an impressively ample chest. Her skin was pure white and appeared soft, in contrast to her long, dark hair that seemed as dark as the night.
In my village, there was never anyone so stunningly beautiful.
Unintentionally captivated, I stared at her, and then something caught my eye.
“Horns…?”
From the top of the young woman’s head protruded two substantial horns, quite incongruous with her delicate face.
Of course, regular humans don’t grow horns.
People with horns could only belong to one specific race.
“Oh, a demon…?”
“Oh, you figured it out quite quickly.”
When it came to demons, they were known for their ability to wield powerful magic.
Their strength surpassed that of humans, and it was said in textbooks that even seasoned warriors would find it difficult to defeat a demon.
“Ah, this is the first time I’ve seen one. I’m Ruisha Bardy. Nice to meet you.”
I nodded my head slightly and greeted the demon lady.
I wasn’t familiar with demon etiquette, but I hoped I wasn’t being impolite.
“Do you not fear demons, even after hearing that I’m one?”
The older sister asked with curiosity.
Certainly, it’s normal to be afraid when it comes to demons, as demons and humans don’t usually get along. But strangely, I didn’t feel any fear from the lady in front of me. I must have been captivated by her beauty before any fear could set in. There was no point in trying to deceive myself, so I had to convey my thoughts honestly.
“Well… maybe because you’re very beautiful, Miss?”
“What…!?”
In response to my words, the lady gasped and her face turned bright red. Did I perhaps anger her? It might have been impolite to comment on the appearance of someone I’d just met.
I need to be more careful…
“Oh, ‘Testarossa, calm down. You can’t get flustered just because someone complimented you for the first time in millennia. But this child does have a rather cute face…”
The lady muttered something under her breath. Did I really upset her?
As I was thinking that, another person appeared before me.
“Ah, it seems you’ve awakened. Well then, let me have a look at your face.”
The newcomer had a condescending tone and appeared to be a cute girl around ten years old. She had tan skin, blood-red eyes, long, jagged black hair, and sharp fangs that peeked out when she spoke. Her mischievous, sharp gaze was quite distinctive.
But what caught my attention even more was the single horn on her head and the impressive tail extending from her backside. It was different from what the older sister had. To compare, it was more like a lizard’s tail.
“Um, hello.”
Nervously, I greeted and introduced myself. The girl in front of me seemed satisfied and proceeded to introduce herself.
“Well then, you seem lively. I am the Seventh Dragon King. You may freely address me as ‘Dragon King-sama.'”
“Dragon… King…!?”
The name that came out of the girl’s mouth was astonishing. The title “Dragon King” was reserved for the leader of the “Dragon Clan,” considered the mightiest race on Earth. I found it hard to believe that the girl in front of me was this “Dragon King.”
“Hehe, it’s been a while since someone was surprised by me. But by the way, haven’t you asked for the name of the one blushing over there?”
“Huh?”
The somewhat deflated response came from the lady I met earlier. Could it be that she, too, was a person of significance on par with the Dragon King girl?
“By the way, I haven’t introduced myself yet! Listen well, diminutive human! I am the one who rules over darkness and commands chaos! The supreme being among the demon race, the 66th Demon Lord, ‘Testarossa Harlequin,’ that’s who I am!!”
With dramatic gestures and flair, the lady introduced herself. While there were many points to criticize, what stood out the most was the title “Demon Lord.”
Only those with the mightiest power among the formidable demon race could rightfully claim that title. That’s what a “Demon Lord” was.
The idea of this lady being a Demon Lord… Well, it was hard to believe.
“Oh, it seems you’re not quite convinced. Well, I suppose it can’t be helped. Maybe my beauty is hiding my Demon Lord aura from you?”
“Hmm, even if you were praised for the first time in millennia, does that really make the Demon Lord act all giddy?”
“Hey, you’re so noisy! Weren’t you feeling all fluttery around the opposite sex for the first time in ages when you found this child?”
“What! There’s no need to say that in front of this kid!”
The two of them began bickering, completely disregarding my presence. I couldn’t tell if they were on good or bad terms with each other.
“Heh, heh. There’s no point in arguing here.”
“Yeah, that’s right. How about we quickly show our true forms?”
“Well, that’s quite a reasonable suggestion for a young Dragon King. Let’s do that, then.”
“Don’t need any extra words, Demon Lord.”
While they were still bickering, the two of them began to transform.
The lady who introduced herself as the Demon Lord had her clothing change into something rather revealing. Oh, it was a bit too stimulating, making it hard to know where to look.
Of course, not only that, but her magical power explosively increased and spread throughout the entire area. I had never felt this much magical power before.
And as for the girl who claimed to be the Dragon King… she had transformed into a gigantic black dragon.
Her body seemed as long as three of mine put together.
“Uh, um…!”
“Hehe, perhaps now you’ll believe I’m the Dragon King.”
“Welcome, young one. This place is the ‘Infinite Prison,’ a dimension where the Demon Lord and the Dragon King are sealed. Nice to meet you.”
And so, our long, long journey together began in this new chapter of life.
