Summary
Cross Vish, an ordinary villager, somehow found himself, by a strange twist of fate, joining the hero’s party. With only moderate skill and no special powers to speak of, Cross was, by every measure, a true ordinary man.
And yet, for reasons even he could not grasp, the heroes accepted him without the slightest doubt, treating him as a true comrade from the depths of their hearts.
The thought of expelling Cross from the party had never once crossed their minds. No matter how loudly outsiders hurled heartless accusations, no matter how fiercely they tried to drive him away, the heroes unwaveringly believed in Cross as one of their own.
Precisely because of that unwavering trust, Cross was constantly plagued by the question: What can someone like me truly do for them? For the painful truth remained — he was, undeniably, useless.
And then, at last... Cross finally understood his role. In that decisive moment — when the Demon King, with his dying breath, unleashed a spell aimed at the heroes.
