I don’t know why people keep talking about multiple paths/timelines, the ??? PoV chapters seem to be showing the ending of the original story. The MC says he doesn’t see how Yukito dies just the death scene but the ??? Pov chapters show us the unseen part of the story before his death.
The confusing part is that the end of this chapter makes it seem like Miyuki’s wish to reset and apologize to Yukito is what causes the current timeline where MC transmigrates into Yukito. But Miyuki in the current timeline still doesn’t like Yukito as normal or remember any of this at all so where is the wish to apologize or point of resetting the timeline for her go?
I guess maybe when current MC/Yukito leaves her, she’ll apologize in regret in a roundabout of fulfilling that “wish” or maybe as MC distances himself more, the memories and feelings from the original timeline comes back to her.
But seriously, original Yukito is a completely whole goddamn level of simp I never thought was possible. There’s no actually positive qualities about Miyuki besides her beauty that could explain his fixation on her so it’s even more unexplainable when he loves her even when she’s disfigured.
I still don’t want MC to end up with Miyuki.
I’m really enjoying the story so far. I personally hope Miyuki and Yukito get to be together in the end. That would make me happy. My hope is simply that Yukito just becomes more a person in his own right going forward, not tied to the Mob mindset and that Miyuki can appreciate him as an individual and realise he’s more than just an obsessive goof like he was previously. I have a lot of hopes for this series because it’s made a strong first impression on me and I’m enjoying it a lot. I hope it continues as it has been.

I’m glad i was able to make an good first impression of the story, and these types of comments are the ones that gets me going throughout the day and feeling motivated to write for the next chapter.

So in the end all paths where Yukito is around Miyuki lead to his death… He claims that he was the only one who really knew her but he didn’t know the extent of her disdain for him or how she talked about him behind his back. It was so ugly, honestly it makes you sick to think that he loves her, it’s like he’s mentally ill. He’s a sycophant in the true sense, completely blind to her true nature.
What even is the foundation for his devotion to her? I just don’t get it. She wasn’t even nice to him for most of their lives. All of these good things he claims to like about her were never once directed at him. Was she just that cute?
Lastly… are we headed for a time loop? Ugh, sorry but I don’t feel like Miyuki deserves redemption at this point. It took her losing literally everything before she decided that Yukito was a good guy and was worth a chance? That’s so incredibly insulting to the guy. Unless they go back to when they first met and literally cut Kichiro’s dick off and dump him in the river I won’t be convinced she’s serious.

I apologize that my comments on some chapters have upset you, it wasn’t my intention. I got too invested in the story and got frustrated with parts of it, sorry about that. Maybe it’s a good sign that you were able to write something that could create a strong reaction?
I don’t think we’ll know why the original Yukito liked Miyuki so much any time soon- he’s dead, it seems.
I agree that isekai-Yukito hanging out with the two “protagonists” is weird since he says he wants to distance himself. I also hope he decides to have his own story without them soon.
Author, I like the story. I don’t think the criticism was meant to be anything but constructive. If it wasn’t, I don’t think we would be paying for the advanced chapters! Please keep writing, I’m looking forward to the “StuCo Pres” arc and “Idol” arc you’ve foreshadowed!
