Chapter 4 Shut Up

Just as I was about to say “let go,” my little sister spoke up, as if covering my words.

“────like this, kiss me”

My mind went blank.

I had a hunch that it didn’t mean a kiss on the cheek to make up or anything like that.

My sister’s face was slightly swollen around her eyes, probably from crying. But apart from tears, her eyes were moist and her cheeks were flushed with an expression of anticipation.

Perhaps it was her talent as an actress that allowed my little sister, who had only just become a middle schooler, to create the sex appeal she exuded for a specific member of the opposite sex, clearly not toward her family.

We are supposed to be blood-related siblings, but the look on her face made me nervous.

But, I refused to give in with a strong will.

“…….why?”

“I’m a bad brother. I’m not cool, and I’m not smart. I don’t have any hobbies or specialties to brag about, but I still want to be a good brother to you.”

If we do this here, we will not be able to have the same kind of relationship we had before.

My little sister probably genuinely likes me. Whether it’s as a family member or as a member of the opposite sex, I just can’t tell.

I myself have never looked at my sister that way, nor do I want that kind of relationship. It would be best if we could remain as close siblings as we have been.

“That’s why, I’m sorry. I’ll do anything else for you.”

“Anything, is it?”

“Yeah. I’ll do what I can. If there’s anything I can do, I’ll do it.”

“Then, don’t go to high school after you finish middle school.”

It was a request I could not even imagine. It is true that compulsory education ends in junior high school, but I thought that going to high school was a matter of course in today’s world.

I myself thought that I would graduate from high school and then make the choice of whether to go to college, technical school, or get a job…….

I naturally asked why.

“I can’t go to a normal high school like yours. I don’t have much time.”

That may be so. They have been in the same elementary school and junior high school, but not so in high school.

If it’s just academics, my sister would be able to get into any high school. She’s always been good at remembering things, and if she’s a good little sister, that won’t be a problem.

However, My little sister’s work as an entertainer increased every year, and the time of her return was changing. She’s still a minor, so she doesn’t have any work to record until late at night, but I have no idea what could happen next.

It was easy to imagine that even if she entered a regular high school in such a state, she would be expelled due to insufficient attendance.

But that didn’t mean that I should let her make a major life decision for me just because we can’t go to the same high school.

When I opened my mouth to ask her to reconsider somehow, my sister put a finger in my mouth. She grabbed my tongue and I couldn’t speak well.

To my confusion, my sister looked into my eyes and said,

“Stop with your blah blah.”

With that said, my sister pulled her finger out of my mouth and licked her saliva-covered fingers. It was done in slow motion, with her tongue stretched long, as if it was enchanting me.

“Mm… fu fu. Don’t worry. I’m not telling you not to do anything after graduation. I want you to stay by my side and support me. Basically, you will be like my manager.”

“B-Bu-But────”

As if to interrupt me, my sister put her index finger on my lips.

“……..You have a choice. Kiss me here or give up your high school life.”

“I──”

We then slept together in my room, something we hadn’t done since elementary school.

In one bed, in one futon, which used to be big, we slept on pillows lined up side by side.

When she said it’s because her body’s cold, I felt indebted to her and couldn’t turn her down.

However, we were no longer as young as we used to be. Even if we were siblings, it would be awkward for a man and a woman to be in the same bed, so I turned my back on my sister and went to sleep.

“It’s been a while since we slept together like this, Nii-san. It really has been a long time…”

My little sister innocently hugged me from behind saying so. No, I can’t say she’s innocent anymore.

My little sister was definitely doing the deed with a different intention.

“Today is a good day. Really. Ahh, I can’t wait. Right, Nii-san?”

What I can’t wait for that─ would be my graduation from junior high school. I chose the latter.

In a way, I gave away the rest of my life. Or perhaps I offered it to her.

But, on the contrary, I wanted to protect it, even if it meant going that far.
