Chapter 31: Time to Reflect
There were hardly any connections between Seina Nishioji and Kei Kyosaka.
Kyosaka was a boy who rarely interacted with his classmates, and even when spoken to, he would only respond with a few words. On the other hand, Seina had many friends regardless of gender and had a good network even with students from other schools.
Given their nature, any interaction they had was minimal.
They might exchange a few polite words when passing out handouts or have brief conversations when assigned to the same group for school events. That was the extent of it.
To Seina, Kyosaka was just another classmate, nothing more.
However, she did remember that he stood out a bit in class.
He was known as “the poor kid.”
Kyosaka was often ridiculed with this label.
In addition, he had lost his mother early on, which might have elicited some sympathy, but no one, including Seina, really understood or empathized with his situation.
Most students had not experienced the loss of a family member, so they couldn’t comprehend his feelings. Seina was no exception.
If she had to describe Kyosaka back then in one word, it would be “gloomy.” That word perfectly captured his essence—nothing more, nothing less.
Now, as a high school student, Seina could understand why he turned out that way.
After all, he had lost his only mother. The depth of that emotional wound must have been unimaginable.
It must have been a pain beyond what anyone could fathom.
Seeing Kyosaka, who must have endured such indescribable pain, smiling happily at the cosplay event, Seina couldn’t hide her surprise.
Kyosaka had likely changed his circumstances through his own efforts.
He must have worked tirelessly to free himself from various constraints.
During the sensitive years of being a student, it’s common for differences in family background or the presence of parents to be used as fodder for bullying.
Labels like “poor,” “loner,” or “gloomy” were childish, but Kyosaka had found not just one, but two friends—or perhaps even lovers—who didn’t judge him by these superficial labels.
Seina found herself strongly drawn to Kyosaka, someone she hadn’t particularly noticed before.
The “gloomy” impression she had of Kyosaka was a biased image she had imposed on him.
It might have been an unfair burden for Kyosaka to bear. Emotions that are kept inside often show in one’s behavior.
Seina didn’t want to atone for her past misconceptions.
She simply thought that if she had another chance to talk to Kyosaka, she could approach him with a clear and unbiased perspective.
That’s why she invited him to the reunion, unaware that her well-meaning gesture might be perceived differently by Kyosaka.

In that familiar apartment room, we took a moment to catch our breath. The room was still spacious, with minimal furniture, looking as tidy as a model home.
It was like a minimalist’s room.
Apparently, we were going to do a private photo session here (where a photographer and a model do a photoshoot one-on-one… or so I’ve heard).
Even though there are three of us, we can overlook the details for now.
(Since I’m the only photographer, it isn’t entirely incorrect…)
Tsu-chan and Kokoa opened the closet, pulling out various outfits and striking poses in front of the mirror, debating over their choices. It seemed like it would take a bit more time to decide.
Soon after.
“Ta-da! How do I look, Okeihan?”
“Wow…”
Tsu-chan’s outfit resembled a fantasy world’s princess, with a sparkling silver tiara and a frilly dress that was dazzling. Her glossy blonde hair complemented the look perfectly.
“Kyosaka-chan, how about me? Look, look!”
Kokoa was dressed in a military uniform with a high collar and a long cape down to her ankles, looking every bit the female knight. Her short skirt revealed her tanned thighs, adding a touch of allure.
Both of them seemed to have stepped out of an anime, radiating a dazzling charm that captivated me completely.
“Okeihan, you’re the photographer, right? Give us some pose instructions.”
“Kyosaka-chan, please♡.”
“Pose instructions… How should I do that?”
“Just do what you think is best.”
“Exactly♡. Even sexy poses are fine♡.”
Tsu-chan adjusted her dress, blushing slightly. Kokoa stood confidently, without a hint of embarrassment, but her eyes were filled with anticipation, waiting for my directions.
(Giving instructions… this is kind of embarrassing.)
Well, if I’m going to take pictures, I want to capture them at their cutest.
“Let’s just give it a try. If there’s a pose that’s a no-go, please let me know.”
“There aren’t any no-go poses.”
“Kyosaka-chan, are you thinking something naughty?”
“I’m not… let’s just start.”
I borrowed Kokoa’s DSLR camera and began directing them, taking shots with each pose I suggested. They posed like charismatic models, with an aura so dazzling it could rival professionals.
“Okay, Kyosaka-chan♡, let’s try something more daring next.”
Saying that, Kokoa sprawled out on the bed in a starfish pose.
“Kokoa, don’t you think that’s a bit too much?”
“It’s fine♡. Tsukasa, come lie down next to me♡. Come on♡.”
“Oh, geez. Fine, fine.”
…Wait, hold on.
Two cosplaying gals lying on the bed, shamelessly exposing their healthy thighs. This angle is… not good. What’s not good is that their underwear is clearly visible.
“Um, you two. Please hold down your skirts… they’re showing.”
“Oh, Kyosaka-chan, don’t you like this kind of thing?♡”
“It’s not about liking or disliking. It’s just inappropriate.”
“You’re no fun. Hey, Tsukasa, how about giving Kyosaka-chan a little show?♡”
“Well, today we’re wearing show panties, and these photos are for our own use, so I guess it’s fine?”
They exchanged glances, smiling mischievously like kids plotting a prank.
“Ta-da! Tsukasa’s panties♡.”
“There’s no need to announce it.”
Kokoa lifted the hem of Tsu-chan’s dress.
…Whether they’re show panties or not, to a guy, they’re still just underwear. The way the fabric hugged her curves was undeniably provocative.
I quickly pulled my eyes away from the viewfinder.
“…Underwear is off-limits. Got it?”
“Geez, Kyosaka-chan, you’re so serious. If you think of it as gravure, it’s not a problem, right?”
“It’s a problem, that’s why I’m saying it.”
Photographing a classmate’s underwear.
Just the thought of it is enough to cause trouble.
“Tsu-chan, that’s inappropriate too.”
“I know, I know. It was just a joke.”
Seriously.
As I skillfully dodged the temptations of the two gals and continued taking photos, Kokoa suddenly blurted out, “Should we have a threesome later?♡” I couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
“No way! That’s impossible!”
Tsu-chan quickly chimed in.
“Come on… But Tsukasa, aren’t you and Kyosaka-chan doing it?”
“That’s different. Okeihan and I are in that kind of relationship.”
“I want to be in that kind of relationship too.”
“Hey… Well, it’s not really my decision. The important thing is how Okeihan feels.”
Why are you leaving this up to me?
This is bad. The worst part is that having a physical relationship with Kokoa would betray the feelings of all of us.
But.
Kokoa is like Tsu-chan’s childhood friend. They had been fighting for years but recently mended their relationship.
(It’s complicated…)
Excluding Kokoa might cause friction again and strain their relationship, which worries me.
But surely, a threesome is just a joke, right?
In situations like this, it’s best to change the subject rather than trying to brush it off.
“Let’s put that topic aside for now. Aren’t you two hungry? How about we order some delivery?”
“Oh, you’re changing the subject♡. Well, that’s fine. I want pizza♡.”
“Hmm, I feel like sushi.”
“Alright then. Pizza and sushi it is. That’s quite a lot, though. Do you think we can finish it?”
“That’s where you show your manly side, Okeihan.”
“Exactly.”
“…Sigh. Alright.”
With a light sigh, I began to think.
How should I deal with Kokoa? For now, I decided to take my time and think it over while we ate.
